Calculation of free height

Suppose the bottom of the housing in the project is at 1650 mm, and the lower edge of the ceiling cornice is at 2300 mm. Then above the top point of the template there will be:

2300 − 1650 − 453 = 197 mm.

When moving the bottom to 1830 mm, the remainder will decrease:

2300 − 1830 − 453 = 17 mm.

Both options fit statically on the wall. But the second leaves much less space for the intended movement during removal and for hands. Neither 197 mm nor 17 mm are declared as a standard here: the necessary clearance is determined by the suspension design and instructions.

Width check

On a wall segment 820 mm wide, when centering a 250 mm dimension, the side margins are:

(820 − 250) ÷ 2 = 285 mm.

On a wall segment 340 mm wide, 45 mm remains on each side. The last option requires particularly careful checking of the door trim, door leaf movement, adjacent light fixture, and access to the case. The width remainder alone does not answer the question of service convenience.

The calculation only shows that behind the words "shift slightly" there are specific proportions.

To choose, consider the wall together with adjacent elements. If the door forms a strong vertical line, it is useful to assess the balance between it and the clock case.
