In the living room of a country house near Vladivostok, the chandelier is to hang at the top of a cylindrical vault. In the visualization, a decorative white socket is already drawn around the fixture, but the builders have a question that the image does not answer: where should the flat polyurethane pieces be attached if the ceiling beneath them is curved? Visually, the ornament may look suitable, but its back side may not match the actual base. It is at this stage that buying a beautiful set sometimes turns into an expensive change to the project.
Let's look at the choice using specific dimensions: a room of 6.2 × 5.4 m, the top of the vault at a height of 3.6 m, and a calculated transverse curvature radius of 3000 mm. For comparison, real STAVROS ceiling sockets CRPU-070, CRPU-069, RPU.VRS-001 and CRPU-068 are used. Each has its own size, set of parts and price. But none of the open product pages on its own gives permission to mount the factory composition directly onto the vault. To buy a ceiling socket in Vladivostok without rework, you first need to determine the geometry of the mounting pad, the ceiling structure and the location of the fixture.
It is useful to distinguish three questions right away. Does the socket fit visually? This is checked by the outer contour. Do its actual mounting areas come into contact with a solid base? Drawings, measurements, and information about the reverse side of the parts are needed to answer. Is the selected fastening acceptable? This is determined by the base materials, the manufacturer's documentation, and the agreed technical solution. A positive answer to the first question does not replace the other two.
Where to buy polyurethane ceiling medallions in Vladivostok and how to start choosing
In the official section Polyurethane ceiling rosettes you can compare item codes, materials, dimensions, and published prices. For a vaulted ceiling, it is advisable to start not with the product page of the largest model, but with a short technical brief. It should specify not only the room dimensions, but also the cross-section profile of the vault, the presence of a flat area at the apex, the material of the load-bearing and finishing layers, the chandelier suspension design, and the finishing stage. This information allows you to immediately distinguish a standard purchase from a project that will first require the work of an architect or installation contractor.
Searching for "buy a ceiling medallion in Vladivostok" does not guarantee that the item is in local stock. An order can be oriented toward delivery to Primorsky Krai, but the specific production times, availability of the complete set, packaging type, and transport cost must be confirmed at checkout. It is especially important not to confuse the catalog price of the item with the turnkey total: on a complex ceiling, preparing a separate installation area may prove more significant than the difference between two item codes. Until the area is agreed upon, the final installation sum cannot be stated.
The composite CRPU and RPU.VRS items are ready-made artistic combinations of individual overlays, not a single flexible decorative plate. The buyer needs the main product with the full set and installation diagram. The NPU part that can be seen within the product page represents only one element of the design. If several similar NPUs are ordered instead of a complete set, their quantity, orientation, and intended symmetry may not match. Therefore, in correspondence with the seller, you should specify the main medallion item code and separately request the specification of each component element.
Other Moldings in the assortment can also decorate a vault, but the general products section should not replace a narrow product category. If only one medallion is needed at the central chandelier, there is no point in automatically buying cornices and ceiling frames as well. They will occupy additional areas of the curved surface, which will need their own verification. For this project, it is more reasonable to first solve one installation task and only then discuss other decoration.
How a vaulted ceiling differs from a flat one for medallion installation
On an ordinary horizontal surface, the reverse planes of factory decorative parts can be aligned with a single base. On a cylindrical vault, the tangent changes direction as it moves away from the apex. A part that touches the ceiling at the center may, closer to the edge, end up above the surface, rest against it only with a single edge, or lie at an angle. The magnitude and nature of the deviation depend not only on the overall size of the product, but also on where each individual overlay is located, what its own rear geometry is, and whether the manufacturer permits installation on such a base.
A cylindrical vault should be distinguished from a dome, a groin vault, and a decorative shell with a variable radius. In a cylinder, the surface curves in one direction and remains straight along the longitudinal axis. In a dome, curvature exists in two directions, so the formula below for a single cross-section will not replace a three-dimensional survey. In the case of cladding over a complex frame, even an apparently smooth arch may contain local joints, variations in the plaster and unequal radii. These details matter for adhesive bonding, although they are usually invisible in an overall photo of the ceiling.
Another trap is the word "polyurethane." The material itself does not mean that any finished relief product can be bent along a radius, heated, trimmed on the back side, or pressed against the ceiling with clamps without consequences. The factory mold, the design of the overlays, and the manufacturer's recommendations are of independent importance. A standard rosette should not be deformed to fit a vault without a documented installation method. What matters for a purchase is not the assumed margin of flexibility, but confirmed compatibility with the project.
Finally, the vault affects how the pattern is perceived. Relief at the apex is lit differently from elements on the sloping part of the ceiling. If contrasting scrolls end up on areas with changing slope, the ornament may visually lose its circular symmetry, even though the layout in plan remains geometrically correct. This is an aesthetic argument in favor of a preliminary model or full-size marking, not a reason to change the position of the chandelier's load-bearing suspension.

What measurements are needed before approving a STAVROS product
For the training house, let us take the living room length as 6.2 m, width as 5.4 m, and vault apex height as 3.6 m. These numbers describe the room but do not show how flat the central zone is. On the survey sheet, the profile across the vault and its position relative to the chandelier are recorded separately. If the radius is assumed to be 3000 mm only at an early design stage, it must be rechecked after the base is installed. The difference between the design circle and the actual finish may affect the contact of specific parts.
| Data for the technical specification | How to obtain them | How to use |
|---|---|---|
| Crown apex height and base elevations | By as-built measurement | Align architectural and installation drawings |
| Cross-section surface profile | Section, measurement template, or instrumental survey | Assess deviation from the tangent plane |
| Radius of curvature by section | By design and actual control points | Apply the calculation only where the shape matches the model |
| Actual flat area size | Measurement along two axes | Select sockets that may have sufficient support |
| Chandelier axis and load-bearing assembly | According to the luminaire installation design | Preserve independent mounting and access to connections |
| Frame, cladding, and plaster materials | According to as-built documentation | Verify the permitted method of fixing the decor |
| Installation contours of each NPU | According to the exact STAVROS drawing | Find the actual contact zones |
| Relief thickness and rear surface | From the product page and technical data | Assess the conflict with the curvature and the chandelier cup |
The owner can measure some parameters without interfering with the finish. But it is not permissible to arbitrarily drill into the vault, open up the cladding, disassemble the chandelier mount, or inspect hidden utilities solely for a preliminary assessment of the decor. If the structure is unknown, the specialist must study the documentation and propose a safe method of inspection. This is especially important when, on a high ceiling, the future socket is located near electrical connections and load-bearing elements.
It is useful to give the contractor a photograph of the ceiling with a scale ruler, a floor plan, and two cross-sections: directly through the chandelier axis and next to the intended outer contour of the socket. A diagram in a single section does not guarantee that the surface is the same along the entire vault. The technical specification should note all deviations and transitions, even if they are visually minor. The earlier a mismatch in geometry is detected, the lower the risk of an unnecessary delivery of an expensive multi-part set.

Calculating the curvature of a cylindrical vault: why the size of the socket is not enough
For an ideal cylindrical surface with a radius of 3000 mm, let us take the apex as the zero datum. In the cross-section, let x denote the distance from the apex to a point in the horizontal projection, and let h denote the height difference relative to the tangent plane at the apex. Then the geometric formula is h = R − √(R² − x²), where R is the radius of the notional cylinder. This is ordinary circle geometry, not a characteristic of the adhesive or a tolerance of the mounting joint.
If, for a preliminary comparison, x is taken as half the outer dimension of the square overall frame, the following values are obtained. The plane in the table is only an imaginary horizontal tangent at the apex; it is not a ready construction site.
| Model | Overall dimensions | x from center along the transverse axis | Deviation h |
|---|---|---|---|
| CRPU-070 | 765 × 765 mm | 382.5 mm | ≈ 24.5 mm |
| CRPU-069 | 910 × 910 mm | 455 мм | ≈ 34.7 mm |
| RPU.VRS-001 | 911 × 911 mm | 455.5 mm | ≈ 34.8 mm |
| CRPU-068 | 1325 × 1325 mm | 662.5 mm | ≈ 74.1 mm |
The difference between 24.5 and 74.1 mm looks small compared with the height of the entire room, but for a thin relief element this is a significant change in the relative position of the surfaces. At the same time, one cannot draw the opposite conclusion that a compact rosette necessarily has a mounting gap of 24.5 mm. The table considers conventional extreme points of the overall bounding rectangle, while the actual overlays are located inside it. Their back surfaces may also have their own shape, about which nothing is known from a single external dimension.

The section shows only educational geometry: each NPU module requires a separate installation drawing.
There are two more important limitations. First, if the center of the rosette is offset from the apex of the vault, the central point acquires a nonzero slope: the calculation will then require a profile relative to the actual axis of the chandelier. Second, a cylinder has a single bending direction, so parts elongated along the vault may be positioned geometrically differently from the same elements rotated across it. This is not permission to change the factory composition, but a reason to check the orientation of each part in the drawing.
To check sensitivity, you can look at how the geometry changes with a smaller radius. At the same lateral offset of 455 mm, a vault with a radius of 2500 mm deviates from the tangent by approximately 41.8 mm, while at a radius of 4000 mm it deviates by approximately 26.0 mm. This means ordering based on someone else's photograph of a vaulted living room is pointless: two externally similar ceilings may require different bases. The numbers should not be transferred to a real object without measuring its own profile.
Three solutions for the vault: an existing flat zone, a separate platform, or no socket
The first solution is to use the already provided flat central platform. For example, the architectural design might have included a level area around the chandelier suspension, finished as a separate medallion. In that case, its dimensions, rigidity, finish strength, and the way it joins the rounded sections of the vault are checked. If it is genuinely suitable, the composite ceiling rose stays in one plane, and the risk of a geometric conflict is reduced. However, the presence of a flat painted surface does not yet prove that it can support the overlays: the structural base and the fastening system recommendations remain decisive.
The second solution is to design a special base for the decor. This could be a separate flat field that the designer coordinates with the curved cladding, the chandelier suspension, possible deformations, and electrical wiring. It should not be treated as an ordinary "thicker layer of putty." A thick adhesive or putty pad does not replace a verified base, and changing the vault geometry may affect the finish, utilities, and the visual concept of the room. The dimensions, material, support, and cost of such a solution are determined individually.
The third solution is to forgo the standard factory ceiling rose. If the interior is already finished, the vault was made without a flat zone, and modifying it would bring disproportionate costs or risk of damage, the absence of an ornament around the chandelier is better than unconfirmed installation. You can leave a light fixture with a suitable built-in cup or discuss another specially designed finish. But you cannot independently declare the factory CRPU "flexible" and propose cutting its components so that they approximately follow the arc.
| Path | What to check before purchasing | What can be reasonably stated to the buyer |
|---|---|---|
| A flat mounting surface is already present | Size, strength, finish, drawing, chandelier mounting | Consider the model after technical verification |
| The mounting surface is being designed | New base drawing, construction and engineering approval | Postpone the final order until the project is approved |
| The base is unsuitable and rework is undesirable | Alternatives to the decorative solution | Do not purchase an unsuitable set |
The aesthetic transition from the mounting surface to the ceiling vault should be checked separately. If the flat central area has a sharp boundary, it may become the most noticeable element of the ceiling instead of the stucco itself. In some interiors this is an appropriate architectural technique; in others, it is a reason to reconsider the scale of the decor. It is better to determine the solution using a section and visualization that also show the chandelier, rather than from an isolated photo of the ceiling rose.

Three permissible design branches. A flat surface alone does not yet mean a suitable base for mounting.
Checking the size of the flat area: why the outer dimension is only the first filter
Let us assume that at the apex of the vault the project provides a level square field of 1050 × 1050 mm. Let us compare its side with the dimensions of the models. If the socket is installed exactly in the center, CRPU-070 theoretically leaves 142.5 mm from the outer overall frame to the edge of the area, CRPU-069 — 70 mm, RPU.VRS-001 — 69.5 mm. For CRPU-068, an area of 1050 × 1050 mm by outer dimension is insufficient. These values are a geometric remainder, not a regulatory installation clearance and not a guarantee that the edge of the product can be glued right at the break of the plane.
| Model | Field 1050 mm minus product size | Conditional remainder on each side | Preliminary conclusion |
|---|---|---|---|
| CRPU-070 | 285 мм | 142.5 mm | There is a margin in overall dimension |
| CRPU-069 | 140 мм | 70 мм | Precise contour check required |
| RPU.VRS-001 | 139 мм | 69.5 mm | Precise contour check required |
| CRPU-068 | −275 mm | −137.5 mm | The dimension extends beyond the field |
However, the figure of 1050 mm in this example is a nominal design value. A real ceiling requires not only the width but also the actual boundary of the plane: sometimes a flat field imperceptibly transitions into a gentle arc, and measuring it with a tape measure across a painted ceiling is not easy. The limits of the flat portion should be established from a technical section drawing or an instrumental survey. In a composite composition, individual elements may lie within the overall bounding frame, but the project cannot be adjusted based on assumed voids without a factory diagram.
Finally, even successful geometry does not resolve the question of fastening. For example, if a void runs above the flat cladding or the specified support points are absent, the installer must determine which fixing method is permitted. Polyurethane decor must not become a load-bearing part of the ceiling structure. If the project calls for a separate base, it must be agreed before purchasing the product and before final painting.
CRPU-070: a compact 765 mm rosette against the backdrop of a large vault
Ceiling rosette CRPU-070 — the most compact candidate in our comparison. According to the STAVROS product card, its size is 765 × 765 × 18 mm, and it consists of 24 elements of three types. The published bill of materials lists eight each of NPU-244, NPU-130 and NPU-309. This matters not for the sake of neat statistics: the three varieties allow groups of parts to be set aside in advance for checking and marking, and the repeatability of the ornament makes it easier to verify symmetry. However, the same article number and quantity say nothing definitive about the suitability of the rear surface for the curvature of a particular vault.
The star-shaped composition has pronounced ray directions. If the designer proposes orienting it so that the main pattern emphasizes the longitudinal axis of the hall, it is necessary to check where the outermost elements will fall along the transverse axis of curvature. Rotating it in plan changes the distribution of installation sections relative to the arc, even if the outer dimension of the square footprint remains the same. Therefore, one cannot simply rotate the finished pattern by 45 degrees and declare this a "workaround for curvature" without a new drawing.
With a nominal vault radius of 3000 mm, the calculation for half the outer dimension gives a deviation of approximately 24.5 mm. This is an argument for starting the technical verification with CRPU-070, not proof that it can be installed directly. On a finished flat area of 1050 × 1050 mm, it retains a relatively large nominal dimensional margin — 142.5 mm on each side. But if the area is actually smaller or has rounded edges, the outermost NPU may still end up over the bend. A final check will require a drawing showing the position of all 24 components and a survey of the ceiling itself.
The price of the set in the official catalogue as of the preparation date is 35 680 ₽. This is the cost of the decorative item; creating a flat base, an installation template, fastening and adhesive materials, painting, work at height and delivery are not included in the price unless the seller confirms otherwise. It is more advantageous for the buyer to request all of the listed items in advance than to compare a single price line with a more complex model. In our training house, it is the availability of a suitable area, and not just a low price, that can make the compact option rational.
CRPU-069: 64 elements require no less, but more detailed verification
CRPU-069 occupies a footprint of 910 × 910 × 15 mm. It consists of 64 elements of fifteen types, including mirrored parts with L and R indices. Compared with CRPU-070, the outer square increases by 145 mm in each direction, and the number of individual installation locations becomes significantly greater. The model's advantage is its rich floral ornament; the complication for the project is the need to check each group of parts without mistaking the gaps between them for a ready-made engineering solution.
The specification includes long side elements NPU-430L and NPU-430R, transition pieces NPU-424L/R, and other paired overlays. The left and right indices matter: you cannot flip an element or replace it with a visually similar part without an approved layout. On a vaulted ceiling, it is especially important to check not only the position of these elements in plan, but also their orientation relative to the transverse curvature. One overlay may cross the arch along its long axis, while another may follow a flatter direction along the vault. A different type of contact does not automatically become an acceptable gluing method.
For a design radius of 3000 mm, the outermost point of the overall dimension at a transverse distance of 455 mm is 34.7 mm below the horizontal tangent at the apex. If a flat zone 1050 mm wide is indeed provided, about 70 mm remains to its nominal edge along the outer frame. This margin should not be used in full without checking where the flat section ends and the actual position of the edge scrolls. If the base is uncertain, the answer is not to "nudge" individual overlays but to revisit the design choice: small changes in distances can disrupt the entire coordinated composition.
For the estimate, the price of the main product is known — 62 560 ₽. Compared with CRPU-070, the difference is 26,880 ₽. But on a vaulted ceiling, installation price cannot be scaled by the number of parts: a single large, complex element may also require a separate survey and adaptation. It is advisable to get a quote from the installer for preparing the base for the entire pattern, rather than multiplying a nominal gluing cost for one NPU by 64. If the factory installation template is sold separately, its association specifically with CRPU-069 and its price must be confirmed before payment.
In the acceptance sheet, it is convenient to divide the parts into two sets: repeated symmetrical parts and paired left/right parts. Both are checked against the seller's current specification. Substituting NPU-430L with NPU-430R on your own, or using a component of similar size from another composition, can visually disrupt the rhythm and change the actual fit. On a complex ceiling, it is better to catch such a mistake in the packaging on the floor than at height after installation has begun.
RPU.VRS-001: eight large overlays instead of sixty-four
RPU.VRS-001 has an outer size of 911 × 911 × 18 mm, almost matching CRPU-069. But the design is fundamentally different: four NPU-507 overlays measuring 392 × 336 × 18 mm and four NPU-508 overlays measuring 369 × 419 × 18 mm form an openwork symmetrical composition. The large components are positioned along the main and diagonal directions. This fact alone shows why these two products cannot be compared by overall size alone.
On a vault, a large overlay potentially has a longer path along which its back surface must be checked for conformity to the base. If the part is elongated across the arch, it encounters a wider range of tangent angles; if along it, the geometric situation may differ. But this does not mean that a large overlay is necessarily harder or easier to install. Without real data on its back surface and fastening rules, it is impossible to determine the allowable contact area, the need for a support pad, or the actual reliability of the joint.
In the case of a flat central field measuring 1050 × 1050 mm, the overall dimension of RPU.VRS-001 leaves only 69.5 mm of nominal margin on each side. The slightest error in determining the boundary of the flat part may become noticeable. Therefore, the drawing of the rosette itself should be supplemented with the boundary of the flat field and a transverse section. On these, the edge of each of the eight parts is checked separately. The gap between NPU-507 and NPU-508 is a decorative part of the pattern, not proof that the entire system easily follows the vault.
The price of the set is — 67 360 ₽that is, 4,800 ₽ higher than CRPU-069. A buyer may prefer this model for its large floral elements, more open central pattern, or better fit with the interior. But choosing it because "only eight pieces, so installation is cheap" is incorrect. Eight large elements will require their own precise layout, verification of the rear surfaces, and coordination of the base. The number of operations on the stand and the labor intensity of work on the actual ceiling vault do not have a simple proportion.
To place an order, you should ask the seller for separate confirmation of the composition: four NPU-507 plus four NPU-508. Then an engineer must determine the position of the main and diagonal modules relative to the curve. If no permissible installation option is confirmed, the item remains a candidate for a new project rather than a purchase ready for installation. This is an important commercial conclusion: a beautiful set does not become suitable merely because it can be paid for and delivered.
CRPU-068: large decor and the maximum deviation in the calculated comparison
CRPU-068 is intended for a wider decorative pattern — 1325 × 1325 × 18 mm. Its catalog price is 50 480 ₽, that is, less than two compositions about 910 mm in size. This is a good example of why the cost of an item cannot be derived from the area of the outer square, the number of elements, or the size of the chandelier: different ornaments and configurations have their own price. Cheaper in the catalog does not necessarily mean more advantageous in a given room.
With a nominal vault radius of 3000 mm, the geometric deviation up to half the overall dimension of CRPU-068 is approximately 74.1 mm. If the installation area is only 1050 mm wide, the outer frame of this composition extends beyond its boundaries by 137.5 mm on each side. It is possible that the actual individual overlays do not occupy the extreme points of the overall square, but a conclusion about suitability cannot be made based on these gaps. Factory layout and precise contours of each module are needed; until then, the large model cannot be recommended for the area under consideration.
The description of CRPU-068 has a separate completeness-control issue: the total composition is stated as 72 elements, whereas the sum of quantities in the published item-by-item list in the previously checked product card was 68. This discrepancy should not be corrected on your own by selecting four unknown overlays. Before payment, an up-to-date written manufacturer specification with the quantity of each item code is required. It is especially risky to try to assemble a large composition from an image, because one missing element can disrupt the repetition of the entire ornament.
Most important is to compare two scenarios: purchasing CRPU-068 after approving a new flat area of sufficient size, and rejecting it in favor of a more compact model that can be installed on the existing base. The difference in item price is only one component. If the large composition requires changing the ceiling shell, re-coordinating the chandelier suspension, and restoring the finish, the savings relative to CRPU-069 may prove illusory. At the same time, the cost of additional work cannot be assumed without an inspection: every vault has its own structure.
Why curvature cannot be corrected with a thick layer of adhesive or by bending the part
The most tempting idea after calculating the deviation is to fill the resulting space with additional installation adhesive. But the adhesive compound has its own purpose, permissible substrates, application rules, and working layer thickness. It is not a universal replacement for a flat support area. If a part rests only on individual ribs while the rest is held by a thick spacer layer, such a solution may not comply with the manufacturer's requirements; it cannot be recommended without a confirmed technology.
A similar mistake is mechanically bending the overlay so that its ends "reach" the curved ceiling. Even if the material feels resilient in your hands, a relief piece has a variable cross-section, thin decorative protrusions and its own stress distribution. It is unknown whether it will retain its pattern and strength when deformed. Heating with a hairdryer, cutting notches on the reverse side and partial sanding also cannot be considered a standard way of adapting the product unless it is directly agreed with the manufacturer.
The problem is not only a possible crack or chip. If the elements have slightly different deformation, the circumference of the composite rosette will begin to look uneven: in some places the distance between the scrolls will increase, in others one edge will sit higher than its neighbour. At a height of several metres this may show up in the oblique light from the chandelier or windows. Trying to compensate for the unevenness with finishing putty risks hiding part of the factory detailing, and undesirable rigid areas may appear on the vault surface.
The right way to frame the question to the installer is not "how many millimetres of adhesive should be added?" but "what substrate does the project allow, and which documented fastening system is suitable for this particular rosette?" The answer may lie in a separate flat field, a different factory product or abandoning the installation altogether. This is a fully professional solution, not a failure in product selection.
How to combine a rosette, chandelier cup and load-bearing suspension at the apex of the vault
The chandelier itself is attached to the load-bearing assembly intended for it, not to the polyurethane composition. On the drawing it is important to see three independent parts: the load-bearing element, the electrical outlet with access to the designated connections, and the decorative cup of the light fixture. If their arrangement is known only from a photograph, it is premature to choose the size of the central field of the rosette. The cup may have a large footprint, a noticeable protrusion or its own removal method that must not be obstructed by the overlays.
At the top point of a cylindrical vault, the chandelier axis looks like the natural centre of the composition. But the architectural apex, the geometric centre of the room and the actual fixing point do not necessarily coincide. For example, the chandelier may have been shifted towards a lounge or dining area. If so, you cannot simply take the vault apex as the centre of the decorative ornament: you need to check both the new transverse position of each overlay and the visual symmetry when viewed from the main points of the room.
When offset by 100 mm from the apex, the tangent at that point already differs from the horizontal. For an ideal radius of 3000 mm, the geometric slope is about 1.9°. This number alone does not provide installation instructions, but it shows why a new transverse section must be used when the centre is offset. In a large room, even a small shift of the chandelier can bring the outer decorative elements closer to a more steeply sloping section of the ceiling. In that case, measuring everything from the original apex is a mistake.
The sequence of work also matters. If the chandelier is already installed, it cannot be removed without assessing the electrical connection and fixing. If the light fixture has only been selected, the cup and rosette can be coordinated at the design stage, before finishing. For a complex ceiling structure, it is desirable that the architect, the electrical installation contractor and the supplier of decorative products work from a single up-to-date set of drawings. This is precisely what prevents the situation where each party individually is confident in the correctness of its own part, yet on site the components get in each other's way.
Flat platform on the vault: how to integrate it with the architecture rather than just "gluing on a circle"
A separate mounting base usually becomes part of the architectural solution. Its dimensions depend on the actual contour of the selected ceiling rose, the permitted fastening method and the geometry of the vault. That is why it is impossible to recommend in advance that all buyers make a circle one metre in diameter or a 1050 mm square. Each composition has its own edge details, and the vault has a specific transition boundary between the flat and curved sections. Both forms must be shown in a single set of working documentation.
When developing the central field, it is necessary to decide whether its border will remain visible. One option is an expressive medallion with its own frame that looks like a planned part of the vaulted ceiling. The other is a maximally calm transition where attention is focused on the chandelier and the ornament. Both approaches are possible as an artistic project, but they do not give the right to conceal structural joints with unsuitable material. Any new layer must be compatible with the substrate and preserve the intended performance of the ceiling.
At an early stage it is important to request not only a view from below but also two sections. The first shows the transverse arc of the vault and the transition to the plane, the second shows the longitudinal axis with the chandelier and the mounting fastener. This reveals possible voids above the cladding, areas of adjacency to the load-bearing frame and places where the decor may end up too close to the edge of the platform. A colour visualisation without a section does not solve these tasks, even if it conveys the ornament very realistically.
If the decorative composition has already been purchased, it is even more useful to have a full-size layout on the floor. From it you can assess how large the flat zone needs to be and which overlays are located at the outer contour. However, you should not transfer the paper template directly onto the finally painted vault without an agreed marking method: temporary materials can damage the coating. Surface preparation is a separate operation with its own requirements, not a free addition to the choice of product.
Colour, relief and light on a curved ceiling: what to evaluate before painting
On a vault, the luminaire illuminates not a single plane but a surface that gradually changes direction. Therefore, an accent white relief on a cream background may look more distinct in one area and softer in another. An overly contrasting finish on individual overlays sometimes highlights the slightest deviation from the planned symmetry. If the architect wants to highlight the ceiling rose with a golden patina or dark shadows, it is useful to evaluate these effects beforehand under daylight and evening lighting, rather than relying on a sample photographed on a flat wall.
For the living room in question with panoramic windows, two artistic approaches can be compared. The first is a calm, light ceiling rose in the same tone as the central field: the eye notices first of all the shape of the vault and the chandelier. The second is an expressive ornament with a delicate contrast that emphasises the decorative centre. Both options are design decisions, not technical recommendations. Contrast does not correct incorrect geometry of the rear surface and does not make installation more reliable. It should be discussed only after the substrate has been confirmed.
A separate question is the order of painting. Sometimes it is more convenient to carry out the technology-prescribed preparation of the parts before fastening, especially if after installation access to individual areas of the relief will be limited. But the joints, possible installation materials and the finish coating must form a compatible system. For polyurethane, the suitability of the primer, paint and cleaning method should be clarified. Not all ceiling coatings permit the same treatment, and reworking a painted or decorative finish may require separate approval.
On a comparative mock-up it is useful to look at the composition from three points: from the entrance to the hall, from the sofa area and directly under the chandelier. If the pattern near the vault is perceived as too dense, it is not necessarily better to choose more modules or expand the decorative field. Sometimes the smaller CRPU-070 emphasises the architecture better than the larger CRPU-068, especially when the height of the room provides a natural viewing distance. Aesthetic impression should not be turned into a universal formula: the specific result depends on the scale of the chandelier, the light and the finish.
How Much Does a Ceiling Socket Cost in Vladivostok: Three Honest Estimates
For this project, we will compare three main SKUs without combining their prices into a single order. As of the date this material was prepared, the manufacturer lists CRPU-070 at 35,680 ₽, CRPU-069 at 62,560 ₽, and RPU.VRS-001 at 67,360 ₽. As an additional major candidate, CRPU-068 costs 50,480 ₽. The prices refer to the decorative sets themselves and may change by the time of ordering. If there are multiple product variants, it is important to verify the exact selected SKU and configuration in the cart.
| Budget line | Option 1: CRPU-070 | Option 2: CRPU-069 | Option 3: RPU.VRS-001 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main socket | 35 680 ₽ | 62 560 ₽ | 67 360 ₽ |
| Installation drawing and template | Confirm package contents | Confirm package contents | Confirm package contents |
| Curvature measurement and base inspection | Per specialist's agreement | Per specialist's agreement | Per specialist's agreement |
| Fabrication or preparation of a flat area | Only per an approved design | Only per an approved design | Only per an approved design |
| Adhesives and finishing materials | Per technical specification | Per technical specification | Per technical specification |
| Work, scaffolding, room protection | According to the contractor's estimate | According to the contractor's estimate | According to the contractor's estimate |
| Packaging and delivery to Primorye | Per custom invoice | Per custom invoice | Per custom invoice |
If an existing suitable site is confirmed for CRPU-070, while for CRPU-069 it needs to be expanded, the difference in total cost cannot be estimated with simple arithmetic 62,560 − 35,680 = 26,880 ₽. The second estimate will include additional construction work. But the opposite situation is also possible: if both models require a new site, the difference in foundation costs will depend on the drawings and technology, not on the fact that one socket has 24 parts and the other has 64. A convincing comparison is only possible after separate contractor proposals.
For preliminary control, it is convenient to use the formula total cost = kit price + documented base preparation + consumables + installation and finishing + packaging and deliveryEach line item must be visible separately in the invoice. If the supplier or installer offers to simply give an approximate total without a breakdown of the work, ask for an itemized explanation. This makes it easier to understand whether measurements, template marking, interior protection, and restoration of the ceiling paint are included.
It is critically important not to mix the budget for the decorative element with the budget for the chandelier's load-bearing mount. If it turns out that the suspension assembly needs to be reworked or redesigned, that is a separate engineering task and cannot be included as an unnamed line item called "plaster molding installation." Conversely, a more expensive decorative ceiling medallion does not increase the permissible load on the light fixture. Each system has its own function, and therefore its own installer responsibility.
Order specification: how to avoid confusion between the set and the individual parts
Before payment, prepare a single schedule that contains both product and project information. It is useful to title the document "Ceiling medallion for a vaulted ceiling, central chandelier, Vladivostok." Such a heading helps avoid confusing the order with a standard ceiling medallion for a flat room. Specify the version of the measurement drawing and the date it was approved: if the project changes, the old drawing may no longer be suitable even for the same item code.
| Specification field | What needs to be included |
|---|---|
| Main SKU | One selected CRPU or RPU.VRS product |
| Material and dimensions | According to the current STAVROS product page |
| Full NPU composition | According to the manufacturer's confirmed schedule |
| Module layout diagram | Drawing with actual contours and orientation |
| Installation location | Center coordinates, vault type, radius and flat zone boundaries |
| Mounting solution | Link to the approved project and manufacturer's instructions |
| Light fixture assembly | Independent load-bearing mount, cup, access to connections |
| Cost and delivery | Product price, template, packaging, address, transportation terms |
It is convenient to send this specification to two recipients: the seller of the decorative set and the specialist responsible for the ceiling structure. The first confirms the item code, dimensions, nomenclature and scope of delivery. The second confirms whether the selected set can be installed on the specific substrate. If responsibility is not divided, a problem may arise where each party assumed that technical suitability was the other's task.
If the buyer wants Buy molding simultaneously with several other products, the order should still list the composite rosette as a separate line. It has its own installation drawing, number of modules and curvature check. A set of several randomly selected decorative overlays is not equivalent to a factory kit, and additional ceiling elements may turn out to be incompatible with the already approved area. For a wider range, use the section ceiling decor, but do not add products to this project without a new verification.
At the correspondence stage, it is useful to state the condition directly: "Please confirm that installation according to the attached diagram is possible, or inform me that such a mode of use is not provided for." This is not a formality. If the manufacturer does not confirm installation directly on a curved surface, the absence of a response cannot be interpreted as consent. The purchase should be planned only for an agreed flat area, or a different decor should be chosen.
Delivery to Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, Nakhodka and Artyom: what to check upon receipt
An order of several dozen polyurethane parts requires attention to packaging and accounting, even if each individual element does not look heavy. For CRPU-069, 64 positions on the general list and mirrored elements are important; for CRPU-070, eight repetitions of each of the three types; for RPU.VRS-001, four NPU-507 parts and four NPU-508 parts. Different quantities do not allow stating in advance how many cargo places there will be: the packaging method depends on the manufacturer and the carrier, and the final number of boxes must be obtained from the shipping documents.
Vladivostok, Ussuriysk, Nakhodka and Artyom have different delivery addresses and logistics conditions. Therefore, the phrase "delivery across Primorsky Krai" describes the service area, not a single fixed rate or timeframe. Before payment, check the address, the pickup option, the availability of additional packaging for relief elements, insurance if necessary, and the procedure for inspection and filing a claim in case of transport damage. It is useful to verify the conditions on the manufacturer's website against the invoice and order confirmation, because the calculation depends on the actual shipment.
During acceptance, do not limit yourself to checking a single outer box. Compare the number of cargo places with the consignment note, record the condition of the packaging, and then check the contents of the kit by item codes. For mirrored elements, note the L and R suffixes. If the order is missing a diagram or the promised template, this is a separate discrepancy in completeness. Do not start installation before the issues with missing parts are resolved: postponing assembly is usually easier than disassembling a partially fixed ornament.
After transportation, the parts must be stored under conditions that comply with the manufacturer's instructions. Do not place the elements near heating appliances, load the thin relief with heavy boxes, or unpack and lay them out in a passage area of the construction site. It is better to allocate a clean, protected place for the installation team, where a preliminary layout can be assembled and item codes verified without the risk of losing small overlays. This operation does not replace a technical check of the vault, but it helps keep the paid kit intact.
It is convenient to verify questions about payment and transportation calculations with the official payment and delivery terms, and confirm specific changes in the transport tariff already in the order. If the specified reference address changes or the section is unavailable, the exact current page should be requested from the seller; commercial promises should not be based on an outdated tariff example.
Eight mistakes that make a beautiful rosette unsuitable for the vault
Mistake one — buying based on an interior photo. A photo shows the pattern, but not the back surfaces of the parts, the dimensions of the flat zone, or the base construction. Even an image with a very similar arch does not replace measuring: radii and cladding methods may differ. It is more useful to obtain a working drawing than to choose by visual similarity.
Mistake two — taking the side of the overall square as the size of the required installation area. The outer frame helps to compare models preliminarily, but it does not define all contact areas, additional edge requirements, or the fastening method. Two products around 910 mm in size — CRPU-069 and RPU.VRS-001 — have completely different layouts.
Mistake three — assuming the product is flexible because of the word “polyurethane.” The factory relief is not a universal flexible coating. Without instructions, you cannot rely on heating, filing, cutting, or forcibly pressing it to a curved ceiling. Even if one test piece could be bent slightly, this does not confirm that the entire set is suitable.
Mistake four — compensating for geometry with adhesive. A thick, unverified layer does not automatically create the required contact area and a strong base. First the permissible installation surface is designed, then the fastening technology is selected — not the other way around.
Mistake five — moving the chandelier for the sake of symmetry. The light fixture has its own load-bearing assembly and electrical outlet. Its position cannot be freely changed like a decorative element. If the chandelier axis does not coincide with the apex of the arch, the curvature is calculated from the actual installation center.
Mistake six — assembling an incomplete set from individual NPUs. A similar shape of parts does not prove that they belong to a specific factory set. It is especially dangerous to mix mirrored elements, substitute article numbers, or rely on the total number of parts without a written inventory.
Mistake seven — comparing only product prices. A composition priced at 50,480 ₽ may end up more expensive in the final project if it requires additional reworking of the vault. The estimate should separately list measurements, a new base, materials, labor, finishing, and delivery.
Mistake eight — treating the absence of a visible conflict as proof of reliability. Even a neatly looking medallion may conceal an unsuitable base or restrict access to the chandelier connections. Technical approval is required before purchase, and final acceptance is performed based on the actually installed system.
Frequently asked questions about ceiling canopies for a vaulted ceiling
Can a standard ceiling canopy be installed directly on a cylindrical vault?
A universal affirmative answer cannot be given. It is necessary to check the geometry of the back surface of each cover, the characteristics of the base, and the manufacturer's recommendations. If direct mounting for a specific product is not confirmed, a separate flat mounting platform or another decorative option is considered. Standard elements should not be bent or trimmed independently.
Will the smallest CRPU-070 fit without preparing the base?
Its outer dimension is smaller than the other compared compositions, so the geometric deviation of the nominal vault at its overall boundary is also smaller. But a calculated deviation of 24.5 mm is not an acceptable gap for adhesive. Verification of the actual layout of 24 parts and an agreed fastening technology are required.
What does a vault radius of 3000 mm mean if there is filler on the ceiling?
This is the radius of the geometric model, not necessarily an exact measurement of the finished surface. Filler, cladding, joints and installation errors can change the actual profile. Before the final choice, it is checked against an as-built survey. Suitability of the installation area cannot be confirmed from a single design number.
Why can't CRPU-069 and RPU.VRS-001, both about 910 mm in size, be considered interchangeable?
The first is assembled from 64 small and medium parts of fifteen types, the second from eight large parts of two types. They differ in pattern, distribution of installation areas and order composition. It is precisely these areas that are checked on the vault, so an equal outer dimension does not give the same technical result.
Can only the end overlays be replaced to work around the curvature?
Independently excluding or rearranging individual modules changes the factory composition. This can disrupt symmetry and lead to an unpredictable position of neighboring parts. A non-standard decorative solution may be considered only as a separate agreed project, not as a normal installation method for the original set.
Do I need to order a paper installation template?
It is useful for precise layout, but it does not replace the engineering drawing of the base. You should clarify whether a template exists for the selected item, whether it is included in the set and whether it corresponds to the current version of the product. When used on a vault, the flat layout will additionally need to be compared with the actual ceiling geometry.
Can a chandelier be mounted directly in the center of a molded ceiling rose?
The load-bearing fixture mount must be provided separately and must match its design and weight. The polyurethane socket serves as decoration, not as a load-bearing element. The center of the composition must be coordinated with the cup, cable outlet, and access to serviceable connections.
How can you avoid overpaying for a composition in Vladivostok?
First secure a suitable mounting surface, then compare the three alternative SKUs by price and pattern. Request separate estimates for the base, fastening system, finishing, and transportation. If one model requires reworking the vault while another fits the already provided site, the difference in total costs may prove far more important than the difference in the prices of the products themselves.
How long will delivery to Primorsky Krai take?
A single timeframe for all orders across Vladivostok, Nakhodka, and Ussuriysk cannot be promised. It depends on the availability or manufacture of the specific composition, packaging dimensions, the chosen carrier, and the delivery address. Confirmation of the timeframe must be included in the documents of the specific order; a general guideline on the website does not replace it.
Can I buy the socket first and then resolve the issue with the flat platform?
Technically, you can order the product, but financially this is a risky sequence. The platform may prove insufficient, its construction may be impossible without changing the design, and the factory composition may not fit the available base. It is more correct to obtain preliminary approval of the drawings and only then pay for the product. If the purchase has already been made, do not begin installation until the verification is complete.
Summary: which ceiling socket to choose and when to make the purchase
For a training cylindrical vault with a radius of 3000 mm, the most compact CRPU-070 gives the smallest deviation of the overall boundary from the tangent. CRPU-069 and RPU.VRS-001 have a similar size but a completely different modular design. CRPU-068 requires a noticeably larger mounting field and especially careful verification of completeness. These facts allow the list of candidates to be reasonably shortened, but they do not allow any model to be assigned the status of "suitable for direct mounting on a vault".
| Model | What makes it appealing | Main check before purchase | Status for a conditional item |
|---|---|---|---|
| CRPU-070 | Compact exterior pattern and lower price | Flat field, 24 NPU layout, mounting base | Candidate after site confirmation |
| CRPU-069 | Rich ornament, 64 pieces | Module outlines, L/R pairs, sufficient field | Requires detailed technical verification |
| RPU.VRS-001 | Eight expressive large overlays | Rear surfaces of NPU-507 and NPU-508, orientation | Requires separate technical verification |
| CRPU-068 | Large composition at a relatively affordable price | Larger field, full composition, drawing | Not recommended for a 1050 mm field without project changes |
The practical order of steps is as follows: confirm the vault profile; establish whether there is a solid flat platform; obtain the drawing of the selected rosette; coordinate the base and the chandelier mounting point; then check the current set, estimate, and delivery terms. If a suitable base is absent and cannot be created without undesirable changes, declining the factory rosette is a fully valid design decision.
In Vladivostok and other cities of Primorsky Krai, you can Buy a ceiling rosette by the main item code, but the right purchase for a vaulted ceiling begins with a drawing, not with payment. A successful result is not just a beautiful ornament near the chandelier, but a coordinated composition that matches the actual architecture of the room and does not require reworking the finished ceiling after the goods are received.
