If this field matches the ready-made composition, the issue is easily resolved: it is simpler to take a set with an already defined logic of element placement. But if the pier is narrower, higher, lower, or simply has a different aspect ratio, a second path arises — buy NPU-408, NPU-409, and MLD-003-MG separately and build your own layout.

On paper, the second option seems almost the same: the same article numbers, the same motif, only the wall dimensions are set by the buyer. In practice, there is a trap here. NPU-408 and NPU-409 are sold in two sizes, and to replicate the scale of the ready-made CPU-15-1, you need not the first, more compact versions, but the large ones. For NPU-408, this is 406 × 228 × 19 mm, for NPU-409 — 406 × 298 × 22 mm. The small variants — 210 × 137 × 15 mm and 211 × 158 × 17 mm respectively — will create a completely different composition.

There is another nuance worth noticing before ordering. In the CPU-15-1 card, the overall dimension is listed as 405 × 2300 × 22 mm, while the large NPU-408 and NPU-409 have size A of 406 mm. Therefore, during self-assembly, you cannot simply take the 405 mm figure from the ready-made set and consider it the exact width of each individual element. For your wall, you need to check the drawings, the actual orientation of the parts, and make a full-size layout. This does not prevent using the same decorative motifs, but it protects against the mistake "article numbers match — so the geometry will automatically match to the millimeter."

Separate elements are needed by those for whom the original wall geometry is more important than the dimensions of the ready-made set.

For example:

• the niche is already marked for 500 mm;

• the wall segment is lower than 2300 mm;

• the decorative vertical should end above the baseboard or furniture;

• NPU-408 is needed only at the top, and NPU-409 only at the bottom;

• one motif is repeated on several walls;

• The designer has already drawn their own molding system;

• It is necessary to preserve the Pavlovsk ornament, but change the distance between decorative elements.

Self-assembly gives freedom. Along with it, the buyer gets responsibility for proportions.

The most expensive mistake here starts with the "add to cart" button

The buyer sees the NPU-408 card. In the specifications, the version 210 × 137 × 15 mm is shown first. The article number is correct: NPU-408. The name is correct. The material is correct. It seems that this is exactly what needs to be added.

But CPU-15-1 uses the large variant 406 × 228 × 19 mm.

The same happens with NPU-409: the card contains the small size 211 × 158 × 17 mm and the large one 406 × 298 × 22 mm.

If the task is formulated as "I want to assemble the same motif as in CPU-15-1, but for my wall," it is not enough to write two article numbers in the specification. You need article numbers and sizes.

What a safe order line should look like

Not like this:

NPU-408 — 1 pc.

But like this:

NPU-408 — 406 × 228 × 19 mm — polyurethane — required quantity.

For the second element:

NPU-409 — 406 × 298 × 22 mm — polyurethane — required quantity.

Such a notation almost eliminates accidental replacement with a smaller modification.

If you need the large version specifically, you can order NPU-408 with dimensions 406 × 228 mm and separately order NPU-409 with dimensions 406 × 298 mm, after first checking the selected modifications in the product cards.

Why the 210-mm NPU-408 is not “just a reduced part for a narrow wall”

Geometrically, it is smaller, and that is obvious.

But from a design perspective, something else matters more: along with the reduction, the ratio of decor to molding changes.

MLD-003-MG has a profile of 35 × 12 mm. Next to the large NPU-408 with a width of 406 mm, it is perceived as a linear part of a large wall composition. Next to the 210-mm overlay, the same profile occupies a much more significant share of the width.

In other words, you cannot take a ready-made CPU-15-1 and reduce only the NPU, leaving everything else unchanged, and then expect an identical visual result.

This will already be a new project.

The same applies to NPU-409.

The large NPU-409 is 406 × 298 × 22 mm.

The small one is 211 × 158 × 17 mm.

The difference is almost twofold in the main dimension. Not only the width decreases, but also the height and the depth of the relief.

Therefore, the small NPU-408 and NPU-409 can be useful for compact frames, furniture, or small wall fields, but they cannot be discreetly substituted with large ones if the buyer wants to preserve the character of CPU-15-1.

CPU-15-1: when a ready-made kit is truly more rational

Not all freedom is useful.

If the wall section already fits the 405 × 2300 mm format, self-assembly can only add extra work.

A ready-made kit is especially rational in four cases.

The layout almost matches 405 × 2300 mm

There is no point in redesigning what already exists in a ready-made system.

You check the free space, baseboard, cornice, outlets, furniture — and if the dimensions really work, you choose a ready-made CPU.

Repeatability is needed across several identical wall sections

Two or four identical sets give a clear repetition.

With self-assembly, you will have to separately record the coordinates of each NPU and the lengths of all molding segments.

The designer has already approved CPU-15-1 specifically.

If the visualization has an approved finished composition, switching to individual parts without reworking the drawing is risky. Even with the same article numbers, changing distances can alter the character of the wall.

No desire to calculate decorative geometry.

That's a valid reason.

A ready-made set is purchased not because a person 'can't calculate,' but because their task is to get a specific composition, not to redesign it from scratch.

In such a scenario, ordering CPU-15-1 for the wall is simpler than translating a ready-made idea back into a set of individual parts.

When individual NPU-408 and NPU-409 provide a real advantage

A self-assembled set is worth considering when the ready-made size doesn't match the task, but the pattern itself is appealing.

Here, space for design already appears.

Wall below 2300 mm

Suppose the free decorative height after the baseboard, ceiling cornice, and furniture is 2050 mm.

The finished CPU-15-1 with a height of 2300 mm does not fit.

Individual NPUs can be placed closer to each other and the lengths of moldings can be redefined.

But you cannot simply "cut 250 mm off the CPU." You need to check which linear parts allow changes and how the new distances affect the proportion.

Wall above

With a free height of 2600–2800 mm, the finished CPU may look too short if the designer intended almost full verticality.

Individual elements allow increasing the gap between the upper and lower decor and making the molding part longer.

At the same time, the NPUs themselves do not stretch. Their size remains fixed.

The pier is wider than 405 mm

Here, you can keep the large NPUs at their original scale and make the free space around them wider.

You can also change the molding frame if the project provides for it.

But you should not automatically stretch horizontal connections if it is not clear how they are arranged in the original set.

Only one decorative accent is needed

Sometimes the buyer likes the top NPU-408, but the bottom element is not needed.

Or vice versa.

In this case, buying separately is much more logical than a ready-made set, especially if the wall already has its own frame.

Your own size is not scaling the polyurethane, but changing the distances

This is a principle worth remembering.

NPU-408 does not become wider.

NPU-409 does not become lower.

The relief does not stretch.

Changes:

• position on the wall;

• distance between elements;

• length of moldings;

• sizes of free margins;

• height of the entire system;

• sometimes the number of repetitions.

Therefore, the phrase "assemble Pavlovsk to fit 500 × 2100 mm" requires clarification. You can create a composition based on elements of "Pavlovsk" for a field of 500 × 2100 mm, but this does not mean that the finished CPU-15-1 simply scaled down proportionally.

First, measure not the wall, but the free decorative field.

The full wall can be 3.5 m wide.

But there is a wardrobe nearby.

There is a doorway on the left.

There is a high baseboard at the bottom.

There is a cornice at the top.

In the center, there is a switch.

The useful space for the composition becomes much smaller.

Before choosing CPU-15-1 or individual elements, take four groups of measurements.

Width

Measure the distance between the nearest visual or physical boundaries.

For a narrow wall section, these can be two trim pieces.

For the area near the mirror, it's the edge of the mirror and the corner of the wall.

Height

Not from floor to ceiling, but from the lower line where the decor actually begins to the upper line.

If the baseboard is 120 mm high and the cornice above takes another 100 mm, these zones cannot be ignored.

Axis

Mark the center of the free field.

CPU-15-1 is a vertical composition, and random displacement is especially noticeable.

Obstacles

Sockets, sconces, switches, furniture fronts, cornices, trim.

If an obstacle falls into the future molding, the composition must be changed before ordering.

Checking CPU-15-1 on the wall takes one full-size template

Before arguing whether 405 × 2300 mm fits, make a paper or painter's tape outline.

Beat:

• width 405 mm;

• height 2300 mm;

• central axis.

Look at the wall from a real viewpoint.

If the dimension naturally fits into the wall opening, the finished set gains a strong advantage.

If the frame hits the baseboard, cornice, or furniture, switch to a custom scheme.

Individual elements also need to be tried on at full scale.

For the large NPU-408, cut out a rectangle of 406 × 228 mm.

For NPU-409 — 406 × 298 mm.

This won't replace the actual ornament outline, but it will show the scale.

Then you can move the two templates along the wall until the correct distance between them appears.

And here the difference from CPU-15-1 will become apparent.

In the ready-made set, the proportions are already defined.

For individual elements, you choose the gap between the top and bottom yourself.

Too small a gap will make the wall look dense.

Too large a gap will break the elements into two unrelated decorations.

Need a molding line that will unite them into a system.

MLD-003-MG is not polyurethane, and this must be taken into account in DIY assembly.

NPU-408 and NPU-409 are made of polyurethane.

MLD-003-MG is primed MDF measuring 35 × 12 × 2600 mm.

Therefore, the finished CPU-15-1 and the standalone version combine different materials.

This is not a problem in itself: they are used in one system. But during DIY assembly, the buyer must understand in advance that:

• materials are cut differently;

• the mounting base needs to be prepared;

• compositions are selected taking into account the specific pair of materials;

• The finish should merge polyurethane and primed MDF into one visual surface.

If you need exactly this linear part, you can buy the MLD-003-MG molding and then calculate the required length according to your scheme.

Why the 2600 mm length of MLD-003-MG matters when changing the height

CPU-15-1 has a height of 2300 mm.

The MLD-003-MG molding is 2600 mm.

This provides space for trimming the linear element at the finished height.

If you are assembling a composition for a height of 2500 mm, one strip in length may still be enough for a specific vertical section if its finished length fits within 2600 mm.

If the own vertical must be 2700–2800 mm, a longitudinal joint appears or a different scheme is needed.

That is, the freedom of individual parts is limited by the nominal dimensions of each workpiece.

Do not count the number of MLD-003-MG by the height of the CPU

A custom composition can use:

• one central line;

• two parallel verticals;

• a frame;

• top and bottom crossbars;

• several separate fields.

Therefore, the formula "wall height / 2600" says nothing about the number of slats until there is a drawing.

CPU-15-1 is better where exactly CPU-15-1 is needed.

Individual elements are better where the wall requires its own size.

A field 350 mm wide: large NPUs already raise the question sharply.

The large NPU-408 has size A of 406 mm.

NPU-409 is also 406 mm.

If the available field is only 350 mm, a simple frontal layout of the large version does not fit this size.

So, there are three ways:

1. reconsider the boundaries of the decorative field;

2. use small variants;

3. choose another decor.

You cannot try to "compress" a 406-millimeter overlay.

A field of about 405–410 mm: you need a drawing, not arithmetic by eye.

This is where the difference between the overall size of CPU-15-1 at 405 mm and the size of large NPUs at 406 mm is especially interesting.

If the partition has exactly 405–410 mm of clear space, you cannot claim that everything will definitely fit based only on one line of the card.

You need to:

• check the NPU drawing;

• understand the orientation of size A;

• see the actual outline, not just the bounding rectangle;

• check the finished CPU according to its diagram;

This is more honest than promising tight compatibility.

Field 500–600 mm: a standalone composition gets breathing room

Large NPUs with a width of 406 mm no longer fill the entire width.

You can leave side margins.

You can change the position of the moldings.

You can build a wider frame.

But the more free space there is, the more important it is not to lose the connection between the ornament and the linear part.

If the molding goes too far from the NPU, the decor starts to look randomly inserted.

A wide wall of 800–1000 mm: the question may no longer be about CPU-15-1

On such a field, a single narrow "Pavlovsk" can become a side element rather than the center.

You can use:

• two vertical motifs;

• one independent frame;

• CPU-15-2 from the same collection;

• an individual composition.

Large NPUs retain their sizes.

• length of linear parts;

• upper and lower free sections.

At some point, the vertical will become too dense.

Then it's better to try small NPUs or another system.

If the height matches and the width fits, why search for proportions anew?

It is precisely with such a match that CPU-15-1 is most rational.

Self-assembly is needed only if there is another reason: a different molding pattern, an incomplete set of elements, repetition of individual motifs, or a special design idea.

Height 2500–2600 mm: individual elements provide reasonable freedom

The additional 200–300 mm can be distributed in the gaps.

The composition becomes more elongated.

But before ordering, you need to check what actual length of MLD-003-MG will be required on each line.

One strip is 2600 mm.

The "flush" layout should not forget about the final trimming.

Height over 2600 mm: a separate task for molding joints begins.

NPU is still not a problem.

The linear part becomes the problem.

If one continuous section of MLD-003-MG must be longer than 2600 mm, you will have to plan a joint.

In this situation, a self-made composition may require more installation than the ready-made CPU-15-1.

Large NPU or small: do not choose only by wall width

Let's say the field is 500 mm.

Both versions can physically be considered.

Large NPUs will take up a significant portion of the width.

Small ones will leave much more empty space.

But the choice depends on:

• the height of the wall;

• the width of the molding;

• the distance to the furniture;

• the number of repetitions;

• the character of the room.

In a small hallway, a large relief may be too active.

On a tall living room wall, a small element may get lost.

Two size pairs give four possible mistakes

NPU-408:

• 210 × 137 × 15;

• 406 × 228 × 19.

NPU-409:

• 211 × 158 × 17;

• 406 × 298 × 22.

The buyer may accidentally take:

1. both small;

2. both large;

3. large NPU-408 and small NPU-409;

4. small NPU-408 and large NPU-409.

The third and fourth options are especially dangerous: the article numbers are formally correct, but the scale of the top and bottom decor diverges.

Therefore, in one composition, the size pair must be deliberate.

Is it possible to deliberately mix a large NPU-408 and a small NPU-409?

You can design anything that works visually and technically, but it is no longer a replica of "Pavlovsk".

If the designer deliberately creates an asymmetry of scale, the dimensions are fixed on the drawing.

If such a solution does not exist, mixing sizes rather indicates an ordering error.

First, order one control set for a complex series

If you need to arrange ten identical partitions, the risk of error multiplies by ten.

Rational approach:

1. approve one full-size mock-up;

2. check the selected NPU dimensions;

3. determine the lengths of MLD-003-MG;

4. assemble the first composition;

5. evaluate it with real furniture and lighting;

6. only then replicate.

The series loves templates.

What exactly can be changed in the standalone version

Assembly freedom is often overrated. Therefore, let's divide the parameters.

Can be changed

• overall composition height;

• distance between NPU-408 and NPU-409;

• side margins;

• installation height;

• number of repetitions;

• length of MLD-003-MG;

• frame configuration;

• use of only one of the two decorative elements.

Cannot be considered modifiable without separate manufacturing

• size of finished NPU-408;

• size of finished NPU-409;

• depth of their relief;

• profile MLD-003-MG;

• length of standard strip exceeding 2600 mm;

• material of the specific article.

It is this boundary that separates real customization from fantasy.

Polyurethane and primed MDF should become one whole after finishing.

In the finished composition, the materials are already selected as a system.

When assembling separately, the buyer's task is not to lose this unity.

Polyurethane decorative overlay and MDF molding differ in base, but after quality preparation and coordinated painting, they should be perceived as one architectural line.

Before finishing, it is useful to check:

• whether the joints are prepared equally;

• whether different material transitions are visible;

• are there no steps;

• whether the primer/paint is coordinated;

• is there no different surface texture.

Don't promise yourself that a thick layer of paint will hide mistakes

Paint unifies color.

It doesn't fix a crooked molding.

It doesn't fix an incorrect NPU.

It doesn't make 210 mm equal to 406.

It doesn't remove a shifted axis.

Therefore, the quality of a self-made composition is born at the layout stage.

The 35 × 12 mm molding sets the character of the entire vertical line.

MLD-003-MG is noticeable enough that its position should be changed carefully.

If in the finished CPU the distances are calculated for one system, in your version the frame width should correlate with the 35 mm profile.

A field that is too narrow can be almost "eaten up" by the molding.

One that is too wide can make the profile visually weak relative to the entire surface.

When instead of MLD-003-MG it is worth looking at other moldings

If the buyer likes NPU-408 and NPU-409, but the linear profile 35 × 12 mm seems too large or the MDF material does not suit the project task, you can compare Moldings made of polyurethane.

But after replacing the molding, the composition needs to be designed anew.

You cannot consider any profile functionally and visually equal to MLD-003-MG just because it is in the same category.

Self-assembly is especially good when the molding grid already exists

Imagine a wall where the frames are already marked out.

The top frame is 700 × 1100 mm.

The bottom one is 700 × 600 mm.

The designer wants to add the "Pavlovsk" ornament only to the central part.

Buying a ready-made CPU-15-1 would force reworking the entire geometry.

Individual NPUs allow embedding the motif into the existing grid.

This is a strong scenario for piece-by-piece purchase.

A ready-made kit wins when the walls are not yet marked out.

The opposite situation: the room is empty, dimensions are free, and the wall architecture needs to be determined quickly.

Then CPU-15-1 becomes not an element that is forced into someone else's layout, but the initial module.

What to do if the markup width is exactly 405 mm

Do not order automatically.

First compare:

• CPU-15-1 dimension is 405 mm;

• Large NPU dimension is 406 mm;

• actual contour;

• direction of dimension A;

• Mounting allowance;

• adjacent elements.

A difference of 1 mm may be a feature of cards, rounding, or the composition scheme, but the buyer should not have to guess the reason.

What to do if the width is 450 mm

There is already a small side margin relative to large NPUs.

You can try the ready-made CPU-15-1 if 405 mm matches the overall composition.

You can build your own.

The solution will depend on the height.

What to do if the width is 550 mm and the height is 2100 mm

The finished CPU does not fit in height.

Large NPUs fit within the overall field by width.

So, a standalone version seems logical.

But we need to reduce the distance between decorative blocks and recalculate MLD-003-MG.

What to do if the width is 350 mm and the height is 2300 mm

The height of the finished CPU is suitable.

The width does not.

Large NPUs by dimension A are also larger than the field.

Here it is more reasonable to consider small versions or different decor, rather than trying to keep the large "Pavlovsk".

What to do if the width is 900 mm

There is no need to stretch CPU-15-1 almost twice.

Composition above the console: consider the furniture, not just the wall

If there is a console 850 mm high under the decor, the lower point of the composition is not determined by the floor.
