The company ordered the pens for us when we ordered furniture. But I decided to write a review personally because they are amazing! Stylish, expensive, high-quality!
More than 20 years on the market
The company's success began in 2002, when two artists — Andrey Ragozin and Evgeny Tsapko — created a small creative workshop for producing wooden carved items. The masters' work was quickly noticed, and within a year they were invited to participate in the reconstruction of the Konstantinovskiy Palace in Strelna.
After the success of this project, the company focused on recreating palace interiors, furniture, church furnishings, and carved decorations in various artistic styles. They worked with cultural heritage sites: The Hermitage, the Alexandrovsky Palace, the Troitsko-Izmaylovsky Cathedral, the Sheremetyevsky Mansion, and many others.
The masters' task — and still is — to create wooden items with the highest level of detail and understanding of every element, based on impeccable knowledge of artistic laws and interior styles.

CPU-1-5 decorative molding set buy a decor kit
Some design solutions work even before you understand why exactly they catch the eye. A wall with a neat, geometrically precise frame of moldings, adorned with corner ornamental elements. An interior where there is not a single superfluous detail—and yet every detail is in its place. A space that speaks of taste without words.
It is precisely this effect that the CPU-1-5 decorative molding set creates—a ready-made solution for decorative wall finishing from the“Neoclassic” collectionSTAVROS. Four corner decorative elementsNPU-500(208 × 208 × 18 mm each) made of polyurethane andPrimed MDF molding MLD-003-MG(35 × 12 × 2600 mm)—in total, this is a complete decorative framing system for a wall, designed for an area of 1000 × 2300 mm.
BuyStucco Decor Set CPU-1-5means not just purchasing a set of elements, but acquiring a designed decorative system in which the corners and lines are already coordinated in scale, style, and proportions. This is not a random assortment from a catalog—it is an architecturally thought-out ensemble.
CPU-1-5 decorative molding set for wall decoration: what it is and how it works
CPU-1-5 is the most elaborate level of the STAVROS “Neoclassic” collection. If CPU-1-1 is a basic, concise vertical accent with a single ornamental element, then CPU-1-5 is a full-fledged closed framing system with four corner dominants. A fundamentally different format: not a vertical post, but a rectangular decorative frame that surrounds a wall area like a picture field.
Why a frame system? Because a decorative wall frame is one of the most powerful interior techniques in classical and neoclassical architecture. The state halls of European residences from the 18th–19th centuries repeat the same scheme: walls divided into panels by molding frames with ornamental corner accents. This scheme works because it creates an ordered geometric structure on the wall—a 'grid' that is perceived as architectural order. The wall ceases to be just a plane. It becomes a system.
CPU-1-5 reproduces precisely this logic. The MLD-003-MG molding defines the linear rectangular contour of the frame. NPU-500 creates ornamental square accents measuring 208 × 208 mm at the four corner points of this contour—large enough to be present as independent architectural elements, yet delicate enough not to overload the molding line.
The result is a wall decorative frame measuring 1000 × 2300 mm with corner polyurethane ornaments: strict, symmetrical, classically flawless.
Precisely this type of stucco wall decor allows you to create an interior that reads as 'professionally designed'—even if the owner did it themselves, without a designer.
CPU-1-5 kit composition: NPU-500 corner elements and MLD-003-MG molding
Decorative corner elementNPU-500— 208 × 208 × 18 mm, polyurethane, 4 pieces
NPU-500 is the central ornamental character of this kit. A square decorative element measuring 208 × 208 mm with an 18 mm relief—this is a corner overlay, specifically developed as a decorative accent at the junction points of molding lines.
The 208 × 208 mm format is fundamental: with a molding profile of 35 mm (MLD-003-MG), a corner element of this size overlaps the corner joint with a margin, creating a decorative 'rosette' in each corner of the frame. This is not just a technical solution for masking a joint—it is an architectural accent that 'activates' the corner as an independent decorative point.
An 18 mm relief on a 208 × 208 mm size is a proportionally calibrated depth. Not a flat 'stamp' (which is barely perceptible under lighting), but also not a monumental sculptural element (which would require monumental space). NPU-500 works precisely: expressively under natural daylight and maximally effective with side lighting—wall sconces, lamps, or floor lamps near the wall transform the relief into a play of volume and shadow.
Polyurethane NPU-500:
-
precise reproduction of ornamental relief—without loss of detail in serial production;
-
does not absorb moisture—retains shape during temperature and humidity fluctuations;
-
cuts with a regular sharp knife or saw without chipping;
-
adheres with acrylic mounting compound without anchors or dowels;
-
surface is compatible with any interior paint after light sanding.
Four elements in the CPU-1-5 set—exactly what is needed for one closed frame: one corner NPU-500 for each of the four corners.
Primed moldingMLD-003-MG—35 × 12 × 2600 mm, MDF of the 'Prestige' series, primed
MLD-003-MG—the structural 'skeleton' of the decorative frame. Molding with a 35 × 12 mm profile made from MDF of the 'Prestige' series defines the geometric contour: four straight lines connected into a rectangle, along which the corner NPU-500 elements are placed.
What is important to understand about MDF molding in this system?
First, geometric rigidity. The strip length is 2600 mm. At this length, the MDF molding does not bend, sag, or warp. A straight line of the molding remains a straight line on the wall, even a year after installation. This is fundamental for the frame system: a curved frame line destroys the entire decorative logic.
Second, factory primer. The 'Prestige' series is supplied with an applied acrylic primer—a finishing layer ready for painting. No additional priming before painting is required. This saves time and eliminates one of the finishing stages.
Third, cross-section profile. The quarter-round profile of 35 × 12 mm creates a soft, sliding shadow along the entire length of the molding under side lighting. The frame literally 'glows' under directed light—an effect that in decorated walls of classic interiors was achieved through plaster moldings with a pronounced profile.
Dimensions and parameters of decorative composition CPU-1-5
Drawing parameters
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Zone width (A) | 1000 мм |
| Zone height (B) | 2300 мм |
| System relief depth (C) | ~18 mm (according to NPU-500) |
| Molding profile | 35 × 12 mm |
| Molding length | 2600 мм |
| Corner element size | 208 × 208 × 18 mm |
| Number of corner elements | 4 pieces |
What does the size 1000 × 2300 mm mean for an interior
Width of 1000 mm is exactly one meter. The standard width of a wall section between a window and a door in typical residential construction is 900–1200 mm. The width of the wall fragment behind a bed headboard (a double bed 160 mm wide) with three frames symmetrically arranged is about 980–1000 mm for the central frame. The width of a TV zone for a 55" TV (about 1230 mm diagonal) with surrounding decor is 1000 mm as the side flank of the decorative zone.
In other words, 1000 mm is the 'base module' for most wall decorative scenarios in residential interiors with an area of 15–40 m². The CPU-1-5 kit is designed precisely for this reality.
Height of 2300 mm. With ceilings of 2.5 m, the frame occupies almost the entire wall height from the baseboard to the cornice, creating a sense of full vertical filling. With ceilings of 2.7–2.8 m, the frame has a noticeable gap to the ceiling (200–500 mm), which can be filled with additionaldecorative elements made of polyurethaneor left as 'breathing' space between the frame and the cornice. With ceilings of 3.0 m and higher, the CPU-1-5 frame is perceived as an elegant vertical panel, organically integrated into the tall space.
How many sets are needed for one wall
Wall width 3 m: three CPU-1-5 sets with 1000 mm spacing (frames flush) or two sets with 1000 mm spacing and 500 mm gaps on each side. Wall width 4 m: three sets with equal gaps (~330 mm) or four flush. Wall width 5–6 m: four-five sets — a rhythmic arcade, reminiscent of an enfilade of state rooms.
Advantages of a ready-made molding decor set: why buy a system, not individual elements
This question is asked by everyone who encounters the set format for the first time. Why not buy corner elements separately and molding separately? Isn't that cheaper and more flexible?
The answer is both yes and no. Theoretically, it's possible. Practically — you will immediately face a number of tasks that require solutions.
First task: proportional coordination. NPU-500 sized 208 × 208 mm is a specific scale. Molding with a 35 mm profile is a specific 'weight' of line. Question: will a corner element of such dimensions look organic on molding of such a profile? Is it too massive? Too small? In CPU-1-5, this task is solved: NPU-500 is specifically designed as a corner element for molding MLD-003, and their joint application is verified in completed projects.
Second task: stylistic compatibility. Polyurethane ornament NPU-500 and MDF molding MLD-003-MG belong to the same ornamental program — the 'Neoclassic' collection. This means the surface character, profile sharpness, 'weight category' of decor for both elements are coordinated. When selecting independently from different series, achieving such coordination without experience in architectural decor is extremely difficult.
Third task: precise quantity calculation. In CPU-1-5, it's already calculated: for one frame, 4 pieces of NPU-500 and molding of total length sufficient for a perimeter of 1000 × 2300 mm (perimeter 6600 mm) are needed. Molding MLD-003-MG length 2600 mm is a standard strip that covers the working length accounting for cuts.
Fourth task: easier budget calculation. A set is a fixed kit, one item in the order. Not five items with different SKUs, different prices, and different delivery times. For a private customer, this simplifies the process. For a designer or contractor furnishing a project — it significantly reduces time for compiling specifications.
Fifth task: unified production batch. All four NPU-500 in the set are manufactured in one production batch. This means identical color of the base white polyurethane, identical material density, identical surface texture. When ordering four corner elements independently from different batches — minor but noticeable after painting differences in surface tone are possible.
That's why buyingSculptural wall decorationas a set isn't just about convenience. It's a choice of a systematic approach over piece-by-piece selection.
Where to use the CPU-1-5 set in interior design
Living room: an accent wall as an architectural manifesto
The living room is the space everyone sees. The owner looks at it every day. Guests evaluate it on their first visit. And it's precisely in the living room that wall decor works with maximum impact—because here it's constantly visible, from different angles, under different lighting.
Decorative wall setCPU-1-5 in a living room of 20–35 m² is two to three sets on an accent wall. Rhythmic rectangular frames with corner NPU-500s, painted to match the wall or in contrast, create an architectural 'facade' on the wall—an ordered, symmetrical system perceived as professional design.
A special scenario for the living room is an accent wall behind the sofa or a TV wall. Three CPU-1-5 frames with small horizontal gaps, aligned along a single horizontal axis—this is a 'three-panel' decorative mural across the entire wall. A mirror or painting inside each frame enhances the effect: gallery-like frames, each framing an independent decorative object.
Bedroom: behind the bed headboard
The wall behind the headboard is the key decorative zone of the bedroom. It's the first thing seen upon entering the room, and it's where the gaze of a person lying down focuses. CPU-1-5 works here in several formats.
One set along the central axis of the bed: a vertical frame 1000 × 2300 mm precisely centered on the wall, symmetrical relative to the bed. Minimalist, geometrically flawless, with a sense of meditative calm—exactly the atmosphere valued in a modern neoclassical bedroom.
Three sets with narrow gaps: three vertical frames across the entire wall width create a 'three-cavity' system. If sconces with symmetrical lighting are placed between the frames, the effect is that of a formal bedroom where decor and light work together.
An important point for the bedroom: the 18 mm relief of NPU-500 with directed bedside lighting creates deep ornamental shadows. In the evening, when only one bedside lamp is on, the corner elements 'come to life'—the relief becomes sculpturally expressive. In the morning under daylight, it is more restrained. The decor is dynamic, just like the lighting throughout the day.
Entrance hall and foyer: the first impression of the house
The entrance hall is the first thing a guest sees. And it's the last thing that remains in memory after a visit. At the same time, the entrance hall is usually small—4–8 m², with high ceilings and narrow walls. It is here that vertical decor with clear frame geometry works with particular strength.
One or two sets of CPU-1-5 on the side walls of the entrance hall (one on each side)—a symmetrical pair of frames creating a sense of a 'formal corridor'. The narrow space does not 'shrink' under the weight of the decor—on the contrary, the 2300 mm vertical frames visually stretch the walls upward, making the ceiling subjectively higher.
In the foyer of a private house with ceilings of 3.0 m or more, CPU-1-5 as an element of a broader decorative program—with molding cornices along the ceiling perimeter fromthe STAVROS molding sectionandMDF moldingsfor horizontal framing. A cohesive system of wall and ceiling decor creates a sense of a unified architectural environment.
Corridor: rhythm along the passageway
A long corridor is one of the most challenging spaces to decorate. Narrow, elongated, windowless. The standard solution is 'clean' walls and neutral wallpaper. But this is a missed opportunity.
A series of four to six CPU-1-5 sets with equal spacing along one side of the corridor (or mirrored on both sides) creates an architectural 'passage' — like in classic buildings with an enfilade. The corridor ceases to be a transit space and becomes a full-fledged architectural element of the house. Links tothe wall decor sectionSTAVROS provide access to the full range for implementing such a program.
Study and Library: Decor as an Intellectual Sign
A study is a space where decor carries not only aesthetic but also semantic weight. Molding frames on study walls are a traditional hallmark of a 'scholarly space,' referencing bookcases, picture galleries, and the studies of professors and researchers.
CPU-1-5 in a study is organic as a wall element opposite the desk or on the sides of bookcases. One set between two library sections is a decorative accent that 'breaks up' the monotony of book spines, creating a pause in the visual rhythm of the shelves.
Commercial Interiors: Offices, Meeting Rooms, Reception Areas
CPU-1-5 works not only in residential interiors. In meeting rooms, reception areas, executive offices, banking halls, and medical clinics, the decorative frame system made of molding and stucco creates an atmosphere of respectability and professionalism.
The classic corporate interior features dark tones (anthracite, graphite, dark blue) with white molding frames and NPU-500 gold corner accents. This exact combination reads as an 'expensive office' without a single word.
For which styles is CPU-1-5 suitable
Neoclassicism: an organic living environment
Collection "Neo-classic"STAVROS was created specifically for neoclassical interiors — and CPU-1-5 embodies the key principles of this style: geometric order, ornamental emphasis, restraint, symmetry. Neoclassicism requires decor that is present as an architectural statement, not as 'decoration for decoration's sake'. CPU-1-5 is exactly that: a frame system with four corner accents — an architecturally meaningful solution, not a decorative excess.
Modern classic and 'quiet luxury'
The 'quiet luxury' trend — an interior aesthetic where expensive quality is revealed through details, not through ostentatious opulence. CPU-1-5 in white monochrome (decor matching the wall color) is precisely 'quiet luxury': relief visible only through shadows, strict lines, absence of loud accents. Such an interior speaks of taste without words.
French style and Art Deco
Molding frames with corner elements are one of the basic techniques of French decor from the 18th–19th centuries. In a modern interpretation, this works through a combination: white walls, CPU-1-5 molding frames, herringbone parquet, a mirror in a gold frame, fabric furniture with a classic pattern.
For Art Deco — a more rigid geometry: contrasting painting (dark moldings on light walls), metallic NPU-500 corners (gold, bronze), a strict rhythm of frames without additional decor between them.
Scandinavian classic
In Scandinavian interiors, molding frames appeared not as a borrowing from Southern European classicism, but as an independent tradition — 'Swedish panels', white frames on white walls. CPU-1-5 in this context works exactly like that: a frame matching the wall color, minimal relief, purity of geometry — Scandinavian classicism without excess.
CPU-1-5 installation: how to properly install a decorative frame
Installing CPU-1-5 is a task any experienced finishing specialist and most DIYers skilled in working with moldings can handle. No special equipment is required.
Stage 1: Surface preparation
The wall must be flat, dry, free of peeling and greasy stains. Permissible plane deviations are no more than 3 mm over 2 m (the molding can be adjusted to minor irregularities with acrylic adhesive). Before installation, the surface is degreased and, if necessary, dusted.
Stage 2: Marking
Marking is the key stage that determines the accuracy of the entire frame. A horizontal baseline is snapped at the required height from the floor. The vertical axes of the set are marked. The corners of the frame—the NPU-500 installation points—are marked. Rule: marking is done with a pencil using a level and plumb line, not 'by eye'.
Overall frame size along the outer contour of the molding: for an area of 1000 × 2300 mm and a 35 mm molding, the outer contour of the frame is approximately 1070 × 2370 mm (accounting for the molding extending beyond the NPU-500 contour).
Step 3: installation of NPU-500 corner elements
NPU-500 are installed first—they set the corner points of the frame, to which the linear moldings are then 'tied.' Mounting adhesive (solvent-free acrylic) is applied to the back surface of the NPU-500 along the contour and in a crisscross pattern over the area. The element is pressed against the wall, aligned with the markings, and held for 30–60 seconds. Accuracy: deviation from the markings should not exceed 1 mm—otherwise, visible gaps will appear when joining the molding.
Step 4: installation of MLD-003-MG molding
The molding is cut at a 45° angle at the connection points (frame corners). A miter box or miter saw is mandatory. Cutting 'by eye' at 45° is unacceptable: a precise 45° angle ensures a neat joint; a 1–2° error results in a visible gap that will later need to be filled with putty.
Mounting adhesive is applied to the back surface of the molding in a wavy line along its entire length. The molding is placed against the wall, pressed, and leveled. During the adhesive polymerization time (15–30 minutes), the molding is secured with mounting tape or painter's tape with 'shelves.'
Joints between the molding and NPU-500 are coated with acrylic sealant or finishing putty, then sanded with zero-grit sandpaper after drying.
Stage 5: finishing
Molding and NPU-500 are painted simultaneously (for a monochrome solution) or separately (for a contrast effect). MLD-003-MG is supplied primed — no additional priming is required. NPU-500 is sanded with zero-grit sandpaper before painting for paint adhesion. Paint: acrylic enamel, alkyd, polyurethane. Application: brush (for sharp relief), microfiber (for a smooth surface), fine foam (for an even thin layer on relief).
Number of coats: 2–3 for full coverage. Between coats — light sanding with zero-grit sandpaper for a perfect surface.
Installation Tips
-
For an accurate 45° angle at home, use a metal 45° miter box with a stop — plastic miter boxes introduce error.
-
Apply adhesive immediately before installation (not in advance) — acrylic adhesives set quickly in air.
-
After installation and before painting, allow the adhesive to fully polymerize (24 hours) — especially in corners.
-
For a frame in a bathroom or washroom — replace MLD-003-MG (MDF) withPolyurethane molding— it is fully moisture-resistant.
What to pair the CPU-1-5 kit with: expanding the decorative program
CPU-1-5 is an open system. It works most powerfully in combination with other elements of the STAVROS wall and ceiling decorative program.
Matching sets of the 'Neoclassic' collection
Stucco Decor Set CPU-1-1— a basic vertical accent with one NPU-399. Limited in combination with CPU-1-5: CPU-1-5 creates a formal frame, CPU-1-1 — vertical posts on the sides.
CPU-1-2, CPU-1-3, CPU-1-4— intermediate levels of the series with increasing decorative richness. Can be used together with CPU-1-5 in a hierarchical system: more saturated CPU-1-5 — in the living room or bedroom (main rooms), more concise CPU-1-1 or CPU-1-2 — in the hallway and entrance.
Moldings for horizontal elements
STAVROS moldingsandMDF moldings— for creating horizontal 'rail' lines between vertical frames or over the CPU-1-5 system. Horizontal molding at a level of 900–1000 mm from the floor (a conditional 'wall belt'), separating the lower panel zone from the upper one, is a classic element of panel wall design.
Polyurethane stucco for additional accents
Polyurethane moldings— additional ornamental elements for enriching walls outside the CPU-1-5 frames. Corner overlays, central medallions, intermediate inserts — for creating a richer decorative program in formal spaces.
Decor for moldings: corner and central accents
Decor for Molding— STAVROS — specialized corner and central elements for molding systems. When creating a horizontal-vertical grid of frames (several CPU-1-5 plus horizontal moldings) — corner decorative inserts at the intersection points of horizontal and vertical moldings create an additional ornamental accent.

Why it's convenient to buy the CPU-1-5 molded decor as a kit rather than assembling it yourself
If you've already read the section about the advantages of the kit — you understand the arguments. Here we'll add several practical considerations for those who work with decor professionally.
For private customers
A private customer doing renovations themselves or with a crew doesn't always know what NPU-500 is and why exactly 208 × 208 mm is the correct size for a corner overlay for molding MLD-003-MG. The CPU-1-5 kit eliminates the need to understand this: you take a ready-made solution and get the correct result.
For interior designers
A designer works on several projects simultaneously. Time spent selecting compatible elements from the catalog is time that could have been spent on other project tasks. The CPU-1-5 kit is one item in the specification instead of two or three, one line in the estimate instead of several, minimized risk of error when ordering.
For construction crews or contractors
The crew that received the CPU-1-5 kit from the warehouse has everything needed to install the decorative frame: four corner elements, molding. No questions like 'where did the other two corners go?' or 'we ordered a different molding.' Completeness means predictable results.

Frequently asked questions about the CPU-1-5 decorative molding kit
What is the CPU-1-5 kit and how does it differ from other kits in the 'Neoclassic' series?
CPU-1-5 is the most comprehensive kit in the CPU-1 line: four corner decorative elements NPU-500 (208 × 208 × 18 mm) and molding MLD-003-MG create a complete closed frame system. Unlike CPU-1-1 (one vertical post) and CPU-1-2–CPU-1-4 (intermediate levels of richness), CPU-1-5 forms a rectangular frame with four corner accents — a format close to a classic wall panel.
What frame size results from the CPU-1-5 kit?
The overall dimensions of the decorative area are 1000 × 2300 mm. This is a vertically oriented rectangular frame, designed for walls with ceiling heights of 2.5–3.0 m.
Can multiple CPU-1-5 frames be placed side by side on one wall?
Yes. The standard scheme is multiple kits with equal spacing along the wall. The spacing between frames (distance from axis to axis): 1000–1200 mm for a 'dense' rhythm, 1200–1500 mm for a more 'airy' one. The number of kits is determined by the wall width and the desired rhythm.
What are the kit elements made of?
NPU-500 — made of polyurethane (PU). MLD-003-MG — made of MDF from the 'Prestige' series, with factory acrylic priming.
Does the molding need additional priming before painting?
No. MLD-003-MG comes with factory priming — the finish paint is applied directly to the primed surface without additional preparation.
Can CPU-1-5 be used in a bathroom?
NPU-500 made of polyurethane is moisture-resistant. MLD-003-MG made of MDF has standard moisture resistance, acceptable for rooms with normal humidity. For bathrooms with constant high humidity, it is recommended to use the polyurethane molding analog from the section instead of MLD-003-MG.molding and cornices.
Can the corner elements NPU-500 be painted gold or bronze, leaving the molding white?
