If two tall cabinet doors are already manufactured, choosing a wooden molding starts not with the wood species or price. First, you need to understand whether the profile will fit on the finished surface, whether its relief will be too massive, whether the frame will conflict with the handle, and whether the factory length of 2400 mm is sufficient for vertical parts without intermediate joints.
For example, let's take two identical doors measuring 600 × 2200 mm. Each requires a rectangular decorative frame with an outer dimension of 460 × 1900 mm. For MLD-024, the profile width is 40 mm, the protrusion above the surface is 25 mm, and the length of one factory strip is 2400 mm. With this configuration, the frame fits on the facade, and its vertical sides can be made solid. But four strips are only the mathematical minimum. For a real order, it is safer to consider five, because the layout on four strips leaves only about 40 mm of nominal remainder from each.
The material is chosen after checking the geometry. Beech is logical if the facade and decor will be covered with opaque enamel. Oak is if the project should keep the natural wood texture visible and semi-transparent tinting is planned. Buying oak and then completely hiding its grain with opaque paint is usually irrational. This is not a universal recommendation for all cabinets, but a check of a specific layout. On a smooth tall door, such margins give the frame space. On a framed facade, a door with milling, or a narrow panel, the same dimensions may not fit because the base of the molding will fall on a height transition.
The profile width of 40 mm reduces the internal opening of the frame. With an external dimension of 460 × 1900 mm, the internal rectangle, without considering relief features, will be approximately:

When facades are already manufactured, symmetry cannot be built "from each nearest edge" independently. On two doors, small errors add up and become noticeable precisely in the central gap of the cabinet.
For a door of 600 × 2200 mm and an external frame of 460 × 1900 mm, the base margins are:

left and right — 70 mm each;
-
150 mm on top and bottom.
For a pair of doors, it is better to make one template or one measuring strip and transfer the markings to both panels from the same baselines. If the first frame is marked from the left edge of the facade, and the second is marked "by eye" from the central gap, the two frames may end up at different levels even if each is correctly sized individually.
Working order:

place both doors side by side in the position they will be on the cabinet;

For two doors, the frames do not exist separately. The nearest vertical sides are located on both sides of the central furniture gap.
If each frame is set 70 mm from the door edge, the visual distance between the two nearest moldings will be approximately:
70 + gap between doors + 70 mm.
With a furniture gap of, for example, 2 mm, this is about 142 mm. The specific gap here is given only as an example — the actual value should be taken from the finished cabinet.
This way, you can understand in advance whether the middle of the cabinet looks too empty or, conversely, whether the frames conflict with two handles installed near the center line.
What changes if the frame is shifted under the handle
Sometimes you want to not center the frame, but shift it slightly to make room for a long vertical handle.
Then you cannot keep the previous field formulas. You need to rewrite them:

Marking with painter's tape shows the width and height of the frame, but it barely conveys its volume. MLD-024 protrudes 25 mm above the surface. In a photo, these 25 mm may seem insignificant; on a smooth door next to a thin handle, the profile creates a noticeable shadow and becomes an independent architectural detail.
It is better to split the check into two stages.
First, apply tape 40 mm wide to the facade and evaluate the outer fields, inner clearance, and symmetry of the pair of doors. Then, attach a physical fragment of the profile or a mockup with the real depth of 25 mm. You need to look at the cabinet from the front, from the side, and with the doors open.
For a single private cabinet, you can order a sample strip if its remainder can be put to use. For a designer, furniture workshop, or manufacturer who regularly selects molding, it is more rational to order a set of OMLD-005 molding samples. A physical sample allows you to compare the profile with the facade, handle, color, and side light before purchasing a full-size batch.
What exactly a physical sample provides and what it does not guarantee
OMLD-005 is useful as a professional set for evaluating geometry and materials. The current card describes a case of 375 × 315 × 125 mm and a collection of samples made of oak, beech, and MDF; individual fragments are intended for applying to facades and walls.
But before publication, it cannot be automatically asserted that specifically MLD-024 is necessarily included in the current OMLD-005 configuration if the set composition is not listed by item numbers in a verified card. Therefore, the link to to order a set of OMLD-005 molding samples should be understood as a way to compare the real scale of wooden profiles. If you specifically need MLD-024, it is better to confirm with a manager whether its fragment is in the current set.
For a private cabinet, it is even more reliable to attach a real segment of MLD-024 or a full-size mockup with a cross-section of 40 × 25 mm to the door.

How to check a wooden molding next to a furniture handle
The molding and the handle cannot be chosen independently. Each element has a width, a protrusion, and the area needed for the hand to grip. Even if their contours do not intersect on the front drawing, fingers may feel cramped between the handle and the relief frame.
The verification procedure is simple:

Mark the outer and inner contours of the frame on the facade.

Mark the centers of the handle's mounting holes, not just its overall size.

Attach the handle or a volumetric template with the actual protrusion.

Open the door to the full working angle.

Check the grip with an adult hand, the edge of the adjacent door, and the nearest wall.

Example of checking with the Plane HL‑011 handle
The Plane HL‑011 is useful as an example precisely because, like the MLD‑024, it has a pronounced volume. The current handle card includes a size range from 180 to 1800 mm; for example, the 500 mm variant has dimensions of 500 × 40 × 25 mm and a mounting dimension D of 384 mm.
This does not mean that the 500 mm variant should be installed on the cabinet in question. The example demonstrates the checking method.
With an outer frame of 460 × 1900 mm and a profile width of 40 mm, the inner opening is approximately 380 × 1820 mm. If the Plane 500 mm handle is placed vertically within this field, its own width of 40 mm occupies a small portion of the inner 380 mm. With ideal centering by width, the geometric field to the inner edges of the molding would be:
(380 − 40) / 2 = 170 mm
on each side.
But these 170 mm are not a "finger gap." This is only the distance in the frontal projection. Both the handle and the MLD‑024 have a protrusion of about 25 mm, so the actual grip needs to be checked by hand and from the side view.
If the handle is offset toward the inner edge of the frame, it is useful to record the minimum distance between its outer contour and the relief of the MLD‑024. The manufacturer does not specify a universal grip comfort standard in millimeters, so inventing, for example, mandatory 30 or 50 mm is not allowed.
A vertical long handle and a frame can compete in scale
The Plane HL‑011 is also available in very long variants — up to 1800 mm. On a 2200 mm door, such a handle becomes an independent vertical line almost the full height of the facade.
If the MLD‑024 frame with a height of 1900 mm is installed simultaneously, two large vertical systems will appear on the same plane:

outer sides of the frame;

long handle.
They can look convincing if the project is built on strict geometry, but they can also overload the facade. Therefore, first decide which element is the main one — the frame or the handle, and then choose the scale of the second.

How many MLD-024 strips to order for two furniture frames
Each frame 460 × 1900 mm has four sides:

four pieces of 460 mm each.
The total net length is:
4 × 1900 + 4 × 460 = 9440 mm, or 9.44 linear meters.
Four factory strips give:
4 × 2400 = 9600 mm, or 9.6 linear meters.
In terms of total length, the difference is 160 mm. On paper, everything looks good. Moreover, one long and one short piece can be placed in each strip:

But these 40 mm are not a full working allowance. From them, you need to account for the kerf width, possible alignment of the factory end, and the accuracy of 45° cuts. If the craftsman makes a mistake on one long piece, it won't be possible to replace it with the remainder. Two short offcuts do not form a solid vertical 1900 mm.
Therefore, there are two different answers.
Four slats are the calculated minimum for professional cutting after precise measurement and approval of all lengths using a single measurement system.
Five slats are a practical order if the work is done on-site, a test cut is required, there is no experience with this profile, or the result cannot depend on a single mistake. The fifth slat creates a reserve for the long side, and the remaining quality piece can be saved for repairs or another furniture element.
The manufacturer states that cutting to size is not performed. This means the cutting plan and responsibility for cut accuracy cannot be quietly shifted to the seller: they must be assigned in advance to the furniture workshop, installer, or the customer themselves.
Why it's necessary to agree in advance on what exactly the length of 1900 and 460 mm means for a 45° cut
For a rectangular frame with a miter joint, the same piece has two different lengths:

by outer vertices;
-
by inner vertices.
If the project simply says "1900 mm," the craftsman may interpret the size differently.
For this article, the outer frame dimension is set as 460 × 1900 mm. Therefore, it is most logical to count 1900 and 460 mm along the long side/outer miter tips, if the craftsman confirms this system.
With a profile width of 40 mm, the inner dimension then becomes approximately:

460 − 80 = 380 mm;
-
1900 − 80 = 1820 mm.
If the craftsman measures 1900 mm along the short side of the profile, the outer frame will become larger by twice the molding width and will no longer match the layout.
Therefore, in the cutting plan, you need to write literally:
"1900 mm — outer length from the long tip of the miter cut to the long tip."
And the same for 460 mm.
The cut makes the 1900 + 460 plan even more extreme
The clean parts occupy:
1900 + 460 = 2360 mm.
From the 2400 whip, 40 mm remains.
But when making two parts, at least one separating cut appears, and usually more is needed:

make the first miter;
-
make the second miter;
-
fix a microchip;
-
check the angle.
If the saw blade kerf is, for example, a few millimeters, those millimeters immediately eat part of the 40 mm allowance. The specific kerf width should be provided by the operator; the article does not prescribe universal 3 or 4 mm.
Therefore, the map of four whips exists only after confirming the tool and measurement method.
Why you can't assemble a 1900 mm long part from offcuts
After an error on one vertical, short pieces will remain. Theoretically, two segments can be joined, but on a visible furniture frame this will create a transverse seam.
That's why the fifth plank is not just a '10% reserve'. It insures the solid long side, which short offcuts cannot replace.
How to use the fifth plank rationally
If the four main strips are cut without errors, the spare 2400 mm does not necessarily become waste.
From it you can get:

the craftsman has already worked with this profile;

the width of the cut is known;
-
the length reference system is fixed;

there is no need to align a significant part of the factory end;

the cutting is done in the workshop, not on the fly at the site;

On the MLD-024 card, the selected beech configuration is marked as "under enamel." The official STAVROS explanation states that this version allows contrasting differences in lamellas because the surface is intended for opaque painting. This should not be confused with a ready white part: "Prestige" sanding does not replace primer and finish coating.
Beech is rational when:

facades are also painted with opaque enamel;

exact color matching of the frame and door is required;

the natural texture is not planned to be left visible;

the customer does not want to overpay for oak, whose grain will be covered anyway.
Before ordering, it is important to choose the quality and preparation of the wood for the entire group of parts, not just for the molding. If handles, legs, or overlays are ordered separately, their technological preparation must match the overall finishing system.
Oak for tinting: when texture matters more than matching enamel
Oak has a pronounced porous texture, so it is chosen for oil, clear varnish, or semi-transparent tinting. On the relief profile MLD-024, the wood grain and shadows work together. The result looks richer, but places more demands on shade selection and finishing sequence.
It makes sense to order oak when:

the facade is made of oak or veneered with oak;
-
the natural wood grain must remain visible;
-
the molding is paired with oak handles, legs, or tabletop;
-
a test stain sample on the same wood species has been approved;
-
the customer accepts natural variations in the wood grain.
You cannot choose a shade just by looking at a screen. Even the same stain name looks different on oak, beech, veneer, and solid wood, and the profile relief changes color perception under side light. For paired doors, all slats should be tinted with the same system and in the same production cycle.
Beech and oak should be compared not only by wood species, but also by what will be visible after the finish.
In the current MLD-024 card, the "under enamel" configuration is selected for beech, while "under tinting" is available for oak. These are not marketing color names, but different requirements for re-gluing.
Under enamel, slats do not have to match in color and texture, because the surface is intended for an opaque coating.
For tinting, the lamellas are selected more carefully by color and pattern, because the wood remains visible.
Therefore, the choice can be formalized:

Matching "oak with oak" by name does not guarantee the same color.

Why it is better to finish two doors in one batch
If the frames are paired, all parts should be:

This reduces the risk that the left frame is visually warmer than the right.
Full absolute matching of natural oak still cannot be guaranteed, but the technological difference can be minimized.

Both approaches have advantages and limitations.
Pre-finishing provides access to side edges and allows working on a horizontal surface. But after cutting and gluing, corner joints, end cuts, and fixing marks remain, which still require careful touch-up.
Finishing after assembly helps achieve a uniform color of the frame and facade, hide minor installation marks, and level corner joints. At the same time, hinges, the inner side of the door, and other finished elements need to be protected.
A practical order for a painted cabinet often looks like this:

Perform a dry layout and mark the parts.

Prepare the surface according to the selected coating system.

After polymerization, finish the joints.

What to check on a finished door before applying glue
The finished facade cannot be viewed as a blank canvas. It already has or will soon have:

edges;

paint coating;
-
technological gaps;
-
possibly, concealed fittings.
Before installing MLD-024, create a map of prohibited zones.
On the front side:

On the back side:

screws;

Even if the molding is glued only to the face, temporary mechanical fixation must not hit hidden hardware.
Why glue cannot be specified just by the word "wood"
The molding is wooden, but the door base can be:

Dry assembly of all eight parts before gluing
For two frames, eight parts are required:
