On the fourth floor of a building without a freight elevator, a large ceiling medallion can turn out to be a surprisingly convenient purchase — provided that it really is supplied as separate parts and that these parts can pass through the stairwell in protective packaging. The assembled composition, 1325 mm wide, does not necessarily travel in a box of that size. But the opposite assumption is also dangerous: "since the medallion is modular, they will certainly be able to carry it in" is confirmed neither by the model name nor by the photo on the website. The size of an individual overlay, the dimensions of the factory box and the dimensions of the free turning space on the stair landing are three different quantities.

For an apartment in St. Petersburg with a narrow staircase, the decision is made before payment. First, choose a suitable polyurethane ceiling medallion from the catalogue, then obtain from the seller a parts list and the exact transport parameters of each package. Only after that do you agree on the route from the vehicle to the room and the cost of carrying it up. Otherwise, even a composition that perfectly matches the interior can end up at the building entrance with no safe way to get it upstairs.

Let us consider a hypothetical but fairly specific order: a living room of 28 m², a ceiling 3.25 m high, the fourth floor, an entrance door with a clear opening of 780 mm, a minimum straight stair passage of 900 mm. There is no freight elevator. The chandelier has already been chosen. The room retains genuine historical decor — it is not to be dismantled or replaced without a separate professional assessment. The new polyurethane composition is intended only for the agreed free part of the ceiling. These conditions make it possible to show how to order the product correctly, rather than portraying all old St. Petersburg buildings as identical.

Where to buy a modular ceiling medallion in St. Petersburg and what to clarify right away

STAVROS has a separate category Polyurethane ceiling rosettes. It offers both compact and large modular compositions. The buyer needs not only the external dimensions but also the composition of each set: how many decorative parts will have to be received, sorted and fixed. For an apartment with limited access, the product page is the beginning of the selection, not the final confirmation that delivery is possible.

The first message to the seller should be specific. State the item code, the floor, the absence of a freight elevator, the width of the door and the stair passage, and the presence of tight landings and turns. Ask for data on the number of packages, and the length, width, height and weight of each package. Separately, find out whether the transport packaging may be opened before carrying it up and whether the carrier provides for such a procedure. Unpacking fragile relief work at the building entrance on your own just to squeeze it through the door is a bad plan: you can lose the product's protection and complicate filing a claim if damage is discovered.

If you need both at the same time Buy molding for walls and a socket for the chandelier, first solve the large-order problem rather than adding everything to the cart with one click. A long cornice or molding in a separate box can become harder to carry than a set of small relief overlays. The composition of the overall order must be checked against the largest transport unit, not the most expensive item.

The manufacturer's website offers various ways to place and receive an order. However, the possibility of purchasing in Saint Petersburg does not automatically mean that the price includes carrying up to the fourth floor. This service, as well as bringing items into the apartment, the number of loaders and the acceptance method, are agreed separately. Pay special attention to the entry "delivery to the entrance": it is not equal to delivery to the room.

Why the external size of the composition does not equal the size of the box

The catalog contains sockets with dimensions of 765, 910, 911, 1325 and 1365 mm along the corresponding sides. These are the dimensions of the already assembled pattern on the ceiling. For a modular product, they do not indicate how the factory places the components during transport. For example, an element in the form of a long sheet may have a small width but require a large flat box with a rigid base. Small parts, on the contrary, are sometimes placed in one common box that significantly exceeds any individual fragment.

A simple thought experiment shows the difference. Imagine a finished ornament 911 × 911 mm and individual parts up to 419 mm long. From these numbers it cannot be deduced that the transport packaging will be 420 mm: protective pads, gaps between relief surfaces, a backing and the walls of the box will be required. Moreover, the supplier may pack several products together for safety. Therefore, the dimensions of the parts cannot be used instead of the shipping dimensions even when the composition is fully known.

Three independent parameters are determined to check delivery:

  1. Assembly dimensions — the size of the finished ceiling composition. It is needed by the designer and the installer.
  2. Dimensions of each part — the size of the individual polyurethane elements. It is needed to understand the composition and assess fragility.
  3. Overall dimensions of the cargo package — length, width and thickness of the packaged order, including protective packaging. This is what is used to check passage and turning on the staircase.

Even for a single small composition, the third point cannot be replaced by the first. The size with the box may turn out to be larger. And vice versa: for a multi-piece rosette, the assembly dimensions may be significantly larger than the largest component. Hence the practical rule: first check how the product is supplied, then how it will be carried up. Not the other way around.

The route from the vehicle to the ceiling: five critical dimensions

Buyers often measure only the apartment door. But the bottleneck may be much earlier: at the entrance to the building, behind the vestibule door, at the radiator on the staircase, on the landing between flights, or at the turn into the corridor. In older buildings, steps, railings and ceiling heights can differ even between neighboring entrances. Therefore, it is advisable not to rely on the nominal door width, but to measure the actual clear openings with a tape measure.

Parameter Worked example What to check in a real home
Apartment door 780 мм Clear opening with the leaf fully open; whether the handle gets in the way
Straight staircase passage 900 мм The narrowest point including railings and protrusions
Entrance to the stairwell Not set Clear width and height after both leaves are opened
Turn between flights Not set Clear length of the landing, railing protrusions, height above the load
Box size and weight Only based on the supplier's response Dimensions of each package, its orientation, and whether it can be safely lifted by hand

Unknown values have been deliberately left in this table. Substituting a made-up stair landing width would be misleading: it is often the deciding factor in whether a long box can be turned. A straight passage 900 mm wide does not yet prove that a 1200 mm long box will make the turn. To verify, it is worth photographing the landing, making a plan with dimensions, and passing it on to the delivery service.

Why the diagonal doesn't save you from a bad measurement

People often suggest carrying the box "diagonally." Geometrically this method sometimes helps, but it does not automatically grant permission to bring it up. Turning it requires more than just a wide door — it needs free three-dimensional space: the length of the landing, headroom, room for the hands of two movers, and the ability to hold the packaging without pressing on its corners. In addition, the box can be oriented on its edge or vertically only when the packaging and transport method allow it. With relief polyurethane decor, the limitation may be determined not only by size but also by the need to support fragile protruding parts.

A useful way to pre-clear things is to ask the carrier to check the route against a diagram and photos, and to carry out an inspection if necessary. A verbal "it should fit" without dimensions is better treated as a preliminary opinion rather than confirmation of the service. If the lifting is offered by a subcontractor, ask them to include in the written quote the floor, the number of pieces, the specific limitations, and responsibility for carrying it in. Such a document is especially useful when the goods are purchased separately from the installation work.

The minimum opening width is not the only criterion

Let's say the width of the packaged item is a nominal 700 mm, and the passage is 780 mm. Simple subtraction gives an 80 mm difference. But that does not yet mean the route is ready: the box has thickness, and the movers must hold it without striking the relief. In an opening with a heavy door closer or a protruding handle, the usable width may be less than what is measured along the walls. On a stairway turn, the box does not rotate around its central axis in an ideal plane but moves along a trajectory with limited space. Therefore, even a positive "margin" in a single table does not replace checking the entire route.

When the route looks doubtful, it is more sensible to consider a different configuration or a different way of organizing the lift before payment is made. It cannot be promised that disassembling the factory set into individual parts will necessarily solve the issue: this possibility depends on the agreed packaging and the carrier's rules.

Five STAVROS sockets: what the buyer gets for the stated price

The model list is necessary for two reasons. The first is obvious: the products differ in ornament and overall size. The second is far more important for a flat without a lift: the number of parts, the variety of their shapes, and the packaging method affect what exactly needs to be received and handed over to the installer. Unlike calculating a cornice, linear metres are not counted here. You buy one complete set for the chosen item code and then check its contents.

Article Dimensions of the assembled socket Product price as of 03.11.2026 Construction
CRPU-070 765 × 765 × 18 mm 35 680 ₽ Modular, 24 elements of three types
CRPU-069 910 × 910 × 15 mm 62 560 ₽ 64 elements of fifteen types
RPU.VRS-001 911 × 911 × 18 mm 67 360 ₽ Eight elements of two types
CRPU-068 1325 × 1325 × 18 mm 50 480 ₽ 72 elements of twelve types
CRPU-071 1365 × 1365 × 19 mm 72 880 ₽ Large composite composition

There is an interesting purchasing paradox here: the large CRPU-068 costs less than the CRPU-069. This cannot be explained by the number of parts or by size: it is impossible to reconstruct production pricing from publicly available information. For an apartment on the fourth floor, the price criterion needs to be broken down into two parts: the confirmed cost of the product and separately agreed expenses for packaging, lifting, assembly and finishing. A cheap box in the catalogue does not guarantee a cheaper finished ceiling.

CRPU-070: a small composition with 24 parts

У ceiling medallion CRPU-070 external dimensions 765 × 765 mm with a thickness of 18 mm. The set includes three types of polyurethane parts: NPU-309 measuring 66 × 45 × 8 mm, NPU-244 measuring 180 × 138 × 18 mm, and NPU-130 measuring 120 × 268 × 15 mm. These figures give an idea of the scale of the individual overlays, but they do not indicate which boxes the manufacturer will send to the buyer. In particular, a part with a length of 268 mm does not make the transport packaging a "268 mm box".

For a small group of three types, it is convenient to obtain in advance a list of the quantity of each article and distribute it into separate bags after acceptance. Even with a visually symmetrical pattern, the quantity cannot be determined by eye: one element may appear in the central area, another only at the ends of the rays. Installation complexity is also not equal to an arithmetic 24 glueings: symmetry must be built and gaps between the ornaments maintained, which depends on the installation documentation.

It is CRPU-070 that is worth checking first when the budget for manufacturing and installation is limited and a large ceiling accent is not needed. At a height of 3.25 m, it will not automatically become the best choice: if the chandelier is large, a small ornament may look secondary. But it allows you to start the selection with a clear price of 35,680 ₽ and a relatively short list of components. The purchase decision also depends on the outline of the chandelier's central cup.

CRPU-069: you should accept not boxes, but 64 parts

Ceiling rosette CRPU-069 assembled from 64 elements of fifteen types. The size of the finished pattern is 910 × 910 × 15 mm, price 62,560 ₽. The official specification includes paired left and right versions of the overlays, for example NPU-430L and NPU-430R measuring 225 × 64 × 14 mm. This difference in the item code is fundamental: if instead of the right part the set contains another left one, the total number of fragments may match, but it will be impossible to assemble the correct symmetry.

Acceptance of this model cannot be limited to the phrase “two packages received, boxes intact.” Two boxes may contain a complete set, an incomplete set, or mixed item codes. The correct action is to match each variety and its quantity against the order breakdown. For a multi-part composition, a paper installation template is especially useful; the possibility of ordering it and including it in the invoice are checked separately. The template should not be considered part of the base price without confirmation in the order.

When carrying it up to the floor, a large number of parts is neither a disadvantage nor an advantage in itself. The supplier can pack them compactly, but protecting many small embossed ends requires care. After acceptance, it is convenient to lay out the elements in labeled groups in a room with a clean floor; before inspection of damage, there is no need to remove all markings and mix the contents. The installation crew will then see not a disconnected scattering of polyurethane, but a ready specification for assembly.

RPU.VRS-001: eight large fragments instead of dozens

which allows reproducing the most complex decorative ornaments with high detail. Ceiling rosette RPU.VRS-001. With an outer size of 911 × 911 × 18 mm, it contains only eight parts: four NPU-507 at 392 × 336 × 18 mm and four NPU-508 at 369 × 419 × 18 mm. The assembly scheme differs noticeably from CRPU-069, although the difference in the dimensions of the finished product is only one millimeter.

For logistics, these dimensions are informative. You can see in advance that individual overlays are not equal to the size of the finished rosette. But it would be a mistake to promise passage through a 780 mm wide door based on the part width of 419 mm. We still do not know the thickness of the spacers, the box, and its factory orientation. Therefore RPU.VRS-001 is the first candidate for checking a complex lift, and not a confirmed “rosette that will definitely fit.”

The buyer gets another advantage at the accounting stage: it is easy to create a control specification. Four parts of one type, four of another; the absence of even one element is immediately visible. During installation, however, each large embossed fragment must be properly supported and precisely aligned with its neighbors. A large contact area by itself does not prove that adhesive installation is sufficient without clarifying the technology. The fastening method is determined by the substrate and the manufacturer's documentation.

The price of RPU.VRS-001 is 67,360 ₽, which is 4,800 ₽ higher than CRPU-069. It cannot be declared more advantageous simply because it has eight parts. If a team estimates the work, it must take into account not only the number of fragments but also the layout, surface preparation, the weight and convenience of each overlay, painting, and seam correction. In some conditions, sorting is reduced; in others, holding a large fragment becomes more difficult. The amount of the labor charge can only be determined from a specific contractor's offer.

CRPU-068: a large design, but not necessarily a large box

Dimensions ceiling medallion CRPU-068 reach 1325 × 1325 × 18 mm. The composition is 72 elements of twelve types. At first glance, the model should be more difficult to deliver than RPU.VRS-001, but these two figures do not support that conclusion: the first reports the size of the design, the second the number of components. Neither equals the factory dimensions of each box.

At 50,480 ₽, CRPU-068 is an intriguing option for a spacious living room. It is 12,080 ₽ cheaper than CRPU-069 despite its larger field. But the decision should be based on three separate calculations. First, check the composition relative to the chandelier, windows, and existing cornices; then confirm the actual shipping dimensions and number of packages; finally, obtain an estimate for assembling 72 elements. If even one of these tasks is unresolved, the lower-priced rosette may cause more trouble than a more compact alternative.

The model has a complex ornament with paired parts, so a list of items and a diagram are needed before payment. In the receiving history, the especially unpleasant case is when all parts are intact but two right overlays are mixed up with the left ones. Trying to trim the relief to compensate for such an error is not advisable: the correct action is to compare the set with the card and report the discrepancy to the seller.

CRPU-071: a size of 1365 mm is not in itself a reason to reject it

CRPU-071 measures 1365 × 1365 × 19 mm and costs 72,880 ₽. The eight-ray composition with rings, scrolls, and plant details is intended for a pronounced ceiling center. The card lists various component elements; however, for a logistics check, knowing only the outer dimension and a few example sizes from the table is not enough.

A buyer may consider CRPU-071 if the room truly needs a large ornament and the seller is ready to provide a full specification, assembly diagram, and packaging parameters. Ruling it out in advance solely because there is no freight elevator is also wrong. But if the box dimensions are unknown, there is no proper turning space on the staircase, and the contractor refuses to confirm carrying it in, such a purchase should be postponed. In practice, it is more sensible to choose a model for which the route has been checked than to risk an expensive set.

The clear difference between two nearly identical rosettes

CRPU-069 and RPU.VRS-001 differ by one millimeter in outer dimension, but by 56 pieces in the number of fragments. This is a clear example of why the question "which socket to buy" cannot be reduced to a single diameter. For the designer, they may occupy almost the same footprint; for acceptance and installation preparation, these are completely different tasks. For the loader, the answer depends not on 64 or 8 elements, but on the actual size and weight of the packed units. Three specialists will look at the same product through different parameters — and all three checks are needed before payment.

How to verify delivery to the fourth floor: a real scheme instead of assumptions

So, the apartment is on the fourth floor. The stairwell passage width of 900 mm and the entrance door width of 780 mm have already been measured. What next? You need to obtain from the supplier not an abstract description of the packaging, but a list of cargo units: box number, length, width, height, weight, and an indication of whether carrying in a vertical position is permitted. For a multi-part polyurethane product, this table is part of the procurement documentation, not an optional wish.

The check is performed for each box separately. One small box may pass freely through the apartment door, while another may turn out to be too long to turn between flights. The total weight of the order also says nothing about the distribution of the load: five packages of several kilograms each are carried differently from one heavy unit with an awkward grip. Therefore, the estimate includes not just the weight of the order, but the weight and dimensions of each unit according to the delivery service's information.

Cargo unit Length × width × height Weight Permitted orientation Route check
Box 1 To be clarified with STAVROS To be confirmed To be confirmed After obtaining the dimensions
Box 2 If provided To be confirmed To be confirmed After obtaining the dimensions
The remaining boxes According to the shipping list To be confirmed To be confirmed Separately for each

It is better not to fill empty fields with estimates like "about half a meter." If the size is specified after payment, the buyer loses the ability to meaningfully assess the lift before obligations arise. Ask for the calculation before confirming the order, even if the final box depends on the packaging method. If there is no precise packaging data, at least a written list of acceptable options and a condition under which the order can be renegotiated would be helpful.

Example of a geometric calculation for a door 780 mm wide

Suppose the supplier reports that one of the boxes is 690 mm wide, and the allowable path through the door is 780 mm. The difference is 90 mm. This is only a margin in the width of the straight openingis not a guarantee of passage: the handle, the thickness of the cargo unit, access for hands, and the actual width with the leaf fully open will need to be checked. If the confirmed packaging width turns out to be 810 mm, a simple comparison will already show an excess of 30 mm. The possibility of a different orientation and safe turning can only be assessed by the carrier, taking into account all dimensions and the rules for handling the box.

Here it is important not to confuse the training values with the characteristics of a specific STAVROS socket. The box widths of 690 and 810 mm are given only to demonstrate the method. The manufacturer has not communicated these dimensions to us; in a completed order, data from the specific delivery must appear instead. Otherwise, a visually convincing table turns into a fictitious calculation.

Stair landing: why a measurement of 900 mm is insufficient

In a straight corridor, cargo narrower than 900 mm can move freely. But at a turn, one edge must be brought forward and the other guided along an arc. If the box is long, the corners rest on the handrails rather than on the conventional lines of the drawing. In some buildings there is a floor slab projection above the staircase that limits the ability to lift the cargo. In others, a door leaf on the landing gets in the way; sometimes the passage becomes narrower because of a protruding radiator or a fire-equipment cabinet.

Therefore, for a difficult ascent it is useful to record on the plan not only the width of the flights, but also the length and width of each turning section, the height above the flights, the location of the handrails, and the position of the doors. Take several photos with a tape measure in the frame — they give the carrier an idea of the situation, but do not replace an accurate measurement. The delivery specialist must confirm that the specific cargo can be lifted without dangerous maneuvers, damage to the packaging, or damage to common property.

What to do if part of the route is inaccessible

Sometimes the problem can indeed be solved by a different sequence of cargo units: bring in the largest boxes at a separate time, hold the door, temporarily clear the passage of furniture. Such actions are permissible only in agreement with the responsible persons and while maintaining safety requirements. It is not allowed to block evacuation routes for an extended time, remove permanent railings without permission, or pass boxes through open windows as a makeshift delivery method.

If the cargo does not fit, first discuss with the seller an alternative packaging, the possibility of splitting the delivery, and a different item. Any repackaging must preserve protection for the fragile relief and the documentary link between the product and the packaging. Removing the factory packaging without agreement may create a dispute about when the damage occurred. When there is no suitable method, it is more reasonable to refuse to order a specific model than to create a risk for people or the goods.

How to agree on lifting conditions with the seller and the carrier

In St. Petersburg, various schemes for receiving goods are possible — self-pickup, delivery by a transport company, courier service. The specific route and rate depend on the address. The presence of a city showroom or production facility should not be interpreted as free delivery to any floor. Information about ordering methods is available in the section payment and delivery STAVROS; the possibility of lifting and its cost must be agreed separately.

A good request to the seller is short but contains all the circumstances affecting the order:

  1. “I need a ceiling socket RPU.VRS-001, one complete composition” — or another selected item code.
  2. “An apartment on the fourth floor, no freight elevator. The entrance door width is 780 mm, the minimum straight stairway passage is 900 mm; there are turning landings.”
  3. “Please provide the dimensions and weight of each transport package, the number of cargo places and the carrying rules.”
  4. “Please state separately the cost of delivery to the entrance, lifting to the floor and carrying into the apartment; whether unloading and removal of packaging are included.”
  5. “I need a complete list of modules, an installation diagram, information about the template and the procedure for actions if a shortage or damage is discovered.”

The received answer should be kept together with the invoice. This is not bureaucracy for the sake of a document folder: it makes clear which services are paid for, who is responsible for lifting and which items must be delivered. If the seller provides packaging data and the carrier separately confirms the possibility of carrying in, two independent checks cover different risks. The seller confirms the contents of the order; the carrier confirms the performance of the service on a specific route.

Why self-pickup is not always cheaper

The offer to collect the goods yourself may look more attractive. But you need to compare not the shipping cost in the listing, but the entire process. Suitable transport, securing the boxes, unloading, people for lifting, time and the safety of the packaging will be required. If, after self-pickup, a protruding part of the product is damaged, it can be more difficult to establish the circumstances and file a claim than with agreed acceptance from a professional carrier. Therefore, when choosing self-pickup, first check how the goods are prepared for handover and how they will be secured in the vehicle.

You should not automatically choose the largest vehicle either: it may not be able to pull right up to the entrance because of the courtyard, gates, or access restrictions. The last few dozen meters between the parking spot and the entrance also count as part of delivery. In older urban areas, this detail is often more important than the distance from the store to the address.

What to do with an order if the packaging dimensions are discovered late

Sometimes the exact packaging parameters are known only after the batch is formed. In that case, when purchasing, it is worth agreeing on the procedure in advance: who reports the final dimensions and when, at what point the carry-up is confirmed, and what happens if a safe carry-in is impossible. Such terms are discussed before payment. You should not rely on a verbal "we'll sort it out when we arrive," especially if the item has been made or assembled for a specific order.

If delivery has already been arranged, do not try to arbitrarily change the route on site or open all the packaging to get around a narrow section. It is better to stop the carrying and contact the seller and the carrier. A solution will need to be agreed upon that does not destroy the product's protection and allows receipt to be properly documented. Additional transport or storage may create costs, so these should be provided for in the order coordination procedure rather than discovered after the vehicle arrives.

Accepting a multi-part socket set: count the elements, not the boxes

After the carry-up, the product is not yet ready for installation. A multi-part composition requires verification by item codes, not just a visual inspection. If the packaging says CRPU-069 and the invoice lists one unit of the product, this means the purchase of one complete set, but it does not confirm that all 64 fragments are actually inside. Any shortage is best discovered before the construction crew begins marking the ceiling.

It is more convenient to carry out acceptance in a dry, clean room on a protected floor. Packages are unpacked one by one, labeling is preserved, and the general appearance and disputed parts are photographed. For each item code, the expected and received quantities are noted. If the set includes left and right versions, they are recorded separately: the letters L and R in the labeling are meaningful, not decorative designations from the seller.

What to note Example entry What the check is for
Main product CRPU-069, one composition To avoid mixing two different sets
Part number NPU-430L Check a specific left element
Paired part NPU-430R Exclude replacing right with left
Quantity of each type According to the confirmed STAVROS statement Verify the complete set
Relief condition Intact / chipped / needs clarification Record damage before installation
Diagram and template In stock / ordered separately Do not start assembly without markings

The table rows are an example of an acceptance report form, not a statement that every set contains the same number of NPU-430. Actual quantities are taken from the contents list of your own order. If a shortage is found, the buyer photographs the markings, boxes, and contents and contacts the seller. Buying a "similar" fragment on your own without approval may worsen the problem: even identically looking parts may differ in side, dimensions, or relief.

Eight parts do not mean eight identical locations

The example of RPU.VRS-001 is especially convenient for showing the difference between quantity accounting and the transport specification. The eight elements consist of four NPU-507 and four NPU-508. For acceptance this is two lines, while for shipping the supplier may use one or several boxes — the actual number of packages must be checked. Therefore, "eight parts" must not be written in the "eight boxes" field. This mistake seems minor until the delivery service issues an invoice for the wrong number or size of cargo packages.

For CRPU-069, a list of fifteen varieties is even more important: visually similar scrolls may be located at different radii of the composition. The installer must have an assembly diagram rather than trying to decipher the pattern from a photograph alone. Before installation, it is better to store the parts in organized groups, without pressure on each other and with protection for the most protruding areas. A dry layout before final fixing allows you to detect an incorrect quantity or orientation before applying adhesive.

A suitable ceiling rose for a chandelier: what to check in the apartment in advance

A successfully delivered ceiling rose may still not fit the chandelier. In an old apartment, the ceiling often already has an existing electrical outlet and a decorative cornice. The size of the light fixture's cup and the mounting location must be considered before ordering, even if formally all models fit on the free ceiling area. The outer size of the ceiling rose must not be equated with the diameter of the central hole: in a composite composition the center may be open, but the geometry of the surrounding relief requires clarification from the drawing.

The technical request must include four parameters: the actual size of the chandelier's canopy, the position of the suspension relative to the geometric center of the room, the clear mounting zone, and the serviceability of the electrical connection. With a symmetrical ceiling medallion, an offset suspension is especially noticeable. If the chandelier is already installed off-center on the ceiling plane, you must not try to "fix" the geometry merely by moving decorative overlays without coordinating with the project.

The chandelier is mounted independently of the polyurethane ornament. Decorative parts are not designed to bear the weight of the light fixture. Inspection of the existing mounting and electricals is performed by a qualified specialist. If the ceiling is old and its substrate is unknown, it is necessary to determine where the load is transferred before installation; a layer of paint or filler cannot serve as confirmation of the substrate's reliability.

At the same time, caution must not turn into pointless over-insurance. If the chandelier has its own verified mounting, its canopy does not conflict with the central part of the medallion, and access to serviceable components remains clear, compatibility can be agreed upon specifically. If even one of these points is unknown, a specific model cannot be promised as unconditionally suitable. This approach is more useful than the abstract advice to "choose a small diameter."

When existing historic stucco matters more than a new purchase

In a St. Petersburg building of pre-revolutionary or early Soviet construction, original plaster elements may survive on the ceiling. They should not be removed simply because a polyurethane medallion is easier to deliver. Before adding new decor next to authentic ornament, assess its condition, artistic value, and the building's restrictions. If necessary, consult a restoration specialist and check which approvals are required. In our educational project, a new purchase is placed on a free field suitable for finishing, without interfering with preserved historic elements.

This scenario is commercially honest: sometimes the best purchase is to forgo an additional medallion and direct the money toward professional restoration of the existing one. This does not mean that new STAVROS products are unsuitable for older building stock. They can be used in modern interiors of buildings of various ages, provided that installation does not damage valuable finishes and complies with substrate requirements.

Total cost of purchase: four estimates with honest unknowns

The product price is the exact known part of the estimate at the time of checking. For comparison, we select four models. We do not include in the "kit cost" estimated loader rates, consumption of adhesive, or painting: none of these is determined without an address, ceiling condition, and installation technology. Instead of a fictitious total, we compile a table that can be sent to contractors to obtain proposals.

Option Price of one product Packaging and transportation Delivery to the 4th floor Assembly, finishing
CRPU-070 35 680 ₽ Based on confirmed dimensions of the locations After route verification As suggested by the installer
CRPU-069 62 560 ₽ Based on confirmed dimensions of the locations After route verification According to the bill of materials, 64 parts
RPU.VRS-001 67 360 ₽ Based on confirmed dimensions of the locations After route verification According to the bill of materials, 8 parts
CRPU-068 50 480 ₽ Based on confirmed dimensions of the locations After route verification According to the bill of materials, 72 parts

These prices refer to the products themselves according to the manufacturer's product pages as of November 3, 2026. Delivery, lifting, installation template, adhesives, ceiling preparation, painting, and labor are not included. Before payment, the current price must be confirmed on the product page and in the invoice. If the manufacturer offers a different composition or price, the agreed commercial proposal, not the previous article, becomes the basis for purchase.

How to properly compare two installers' proposals

Suppose one crew offers a lower total price for installation without marking out and a template, while another offers a higher price with dry layout and substrate preparation. These proposals cannot be compared by the final line alone. You need to check whether the site visit and measurement, electrical point check, module marking out, installation adhesive, joint treatment, painting, cleaning and snagging are included. The line "socket installation — one piece" says little about the actual scope of work with 64 or 72 separate fragments.

The number of parts is only one factor in labour intensity. Holding several large fragments on the ceiling can be harder than quickly placing small elements according to a prepared template. The evenness of the substrate also matters. A 3.25 m ceiling will require safe working platforms or other suitable equipment; its cost should be listed separately if the contractor has not included it in the quote.

The threshold beyond which a cheaper model stops saving money

The price difference between CRPU-068 and CRPU-069 is 12,080 ₽. If the additional costs for CRPU-068 for assembly, packaging, lifting and finishing turn out to be more than 12,080 ₽, the saving on the product price will disappear entirely. If the difference is below this threshold, the larger model may remain cheaper in total costs — provided that it suits the interior and can actually be delivered. This is not a forecast of work costs, but a simple check formula.

On the other hand, CRPU-070 is 31,680 ₽ cheaper than RPU.VRS-001 in terms of product price. Such a difference can play a big role on a small budget, but it does not compensate for a mismatch with the scale of the chandelier if a large ornament is genuinely needed. You should not choose a purchase by the formula "minimum price plus lifting": first check the suitability of the product, then compare equivalent options.

Order specification: what exactly to send to STAVROS

In correspondence about complex delivery, it is easy to lose important details. One employee clarifies the socket composition, another handles delivery, the installer waits for the diagram, and the buyer is sure that all issues have already been resolved. To avoid four independent conversations, prepare a single order specification. It should combine the product characteristics, information about the room, lifting conditions and a list of documents that will be required at acceptance.

In the header, state the exact address, the contact of the person responsible for access to the entrance hall, the floor and the absence of a freight lift. Then record the selected model and its dimensions. Separately, ask for the number of parts by item code and the number of transport places. Do not allow the "quantity" line to simply say "1" if a more detailed schedule is needed for the installer: one composite ceiling socket as a product and dozens of individual overlays inside it are different levels of accounting.

Order section What to record Who confirms
Product Main socket article number, material, dimensions STAVROS
Composition All NPUs with quantity, L/R separately STAVROS by configuration
Installation materials Compatible adhesive, joint finishing, painting Manufacturer and installer
Markup Drawing, template, chandelier center position Manufacturer and fitter
Transportation Size, weight and number of packages Sender and carrier
Lifting 4th floor, no freight elevator, route subject to measurements Lifting contractor
Acceptance Checklist, inspection procedure, damage recording Buyer and carrier

This table is convenient to print before placing an order. It reveals gaps: if the product price is known but the "box dimensions" column is empty, logistics have not yet been agreed. If the full cost of work is calculated but no layout plan has been received, the installation estimate may need to be revised. The table should not create a false sense of completeness; its value lies precisely in keeping unconfirmed items visible.

While choosing a model, it is acceptable to keep two candidates — for example, CRPU-070 and RPU.VRS-001. But before payment, the specification must retain a single primary item code. Otherwise, the invoice may include the wrong product, and the carrier will receive packaging information for a different model. For a complex apartment, discipline in designations is cheaper than any subsequent dispute.

Ceiling preparation and installation after delivery

The chandelier travels not only from the warehouse to the apartment but also from the box to the ceiling. If the ceiling is 3.25 m high, the installation area should be prepared before the crew arrives. Clear the space under the chandelier, protect the floor, provide adequate lighting and safe access to working height. It is best not to start wet construction operations near freshly unpacked relief parts: soiling hard-to-reach scrolls greatly complicates subsequent finishing.

The substrate must be inspected and brought into the condition required by the selected installation technology. One cannot expect adhesive to fix crumbly plaster or a weak coating. If the old ceiling surface does not hold the finish well, the substrate problem must be addressed first. A fresh coat of paint also does not guarantee suitability: the strength of all layers down to the load-bearing surface matters. The choice of installation compound and fixing method must correspond to the product manufacturer's recommendations and the requirements for the specific substrate.

Marking out a composite composition

It is important to assemble the modular ceiling medallion pattern symmetrically relative to the chosen axis. For a multi-element composition, it is reasonable to order a suitable installation template if it is provided as a separate accessory. If the template is not included in the kit, this should not be considered a defect without checking the purchase terms. Request confirmation before starting work. If there is no paper diagram, the installer must agree on another proven marking method based on the manufacturer's technical documentation, rather than transferring the arrangement of elements from an advertising photo by eye.

First, a trial layout is carried out and it is checked whether the pattern conflicts with the chandelier's canopy. Then the reference axes and the positions of the parts are marked without compromising the stability of the ceiling base. Only after this do they proceed to fixing the components, treating the joints and finishing. Painting is carried out taking into account the materials used and the instructions; you must not, without testing, apply to polyurethane an arbitrary compound intended for a different surface.

Separately, access to the light fixture's connection should be preserved. A decorative medallion must not turn the electrical unit into a hidden, unserviceable structure. If necessary, a specialist will agree on the installation sequence with an electrician. There is no need to remove the chandelier, change the fasteners or work with the wiring without the appropriate qualifications: this is a separate technical task, not part of the decorative order.

How to store the set until installation day

If installation will not take place right away, check where the parts will be kept. A suitable option is a dry room with a protected surface where no one will place a heavy box on the relief. Do not store everything mixed together in a bag: afterwards it will be impossible to quickly find the mirrored pairs and check the quantity. Keep the packaging labels and separate groups by article number until installation is complete; this makes it easier to clarify discrepancies with the supplier.

For CRPU-069 with fifteen different types of parts, this order is especially important. Laying out by labelled sections saves time not because it in itself speeds up the curing of the adhesive, but because the craftsman does not spend hours searching for the right element and checking its orientation. For RPU.VRS-001, a quantity list is much simpler, but the large overlays require more careful protection and planning of space for dry assembly.

Additional moulding: when it is better to limit yourself to a single medallion

If the room's decoration already includes a ceiling cornice and historical decorative elements, a new central medallion does not have to trigger the purchase of a complete ceiling set. Moldings in the interior looks more convincing when each element has a clear place: the cornice marks the transition from wall to ceiling, the medallion supports the centre of the chandelier, and the wall moulding forms separate proportions. Adding a large number of overlays without a compositional plan can overload the room.

Ready-made CPU-P ceiling sets solve a different task — they create an extended composition. They should not be automatically included in an order simply because they are in the catalogue or their product IDs are known. For our apartment, what is initially required is one composite medallion that is convenient for delivery and installation checks. A large ceiling system will increase the number of items, the complexity of coordination and the volume of work, but will not in itself solve the problem of carrying everything up to the fourth floor.

Long ceiling cornices also cannot be chosen by appearance alone: they have their own transport dimensions and cutting requirements. If the apartment already has a suitable cornice, there is no need to buy an additional one. If a new one is planned, it should be calculated separately from the rosette. The result is genuine savings: buying one needed item instead of a set that requires more packaging and adds no useful effect to a specific living room.

Delivery in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region: where the service ends

Logistics within St. Petersburg differ from transportation to the region only in the specific address, route and access conditions. But the principle is the same: the transport company confirms the service on agreed terms, and the buyer accepts a specific number of cargo places. When delivering to a building with a closed courtyard, you need to find out in advance whether it is possible to drive up to the entrance, where to unload the cargo and who will ensure passage through the gates. If the vehicle remains on the street, moving through the courtyard becomes a separate stage that also requires safe organization.

For addresses in the suburbs and the Leningrad Region, the availability of the chosen transportation method is additionally checked. The mere fact that the production facility or showroom is located in St. Petersburg does not mean that a single tariff applies to any address in the region. When coordinating, provide the postal code, locality, entrance, floor, elevator, access time and the need for carrying the goods in. Based on the resulting calculation, you can compare courier delivery with self-pickup and choose the confirmed option.

Do not ask the carrier to leave the boxes by the elevator if there is not yet someone responsible for carrying them up afterwards. For expensive composite decor, this creates a risk not only of damage but also of losing parts. It is better to schedule acceptance for a time when you can check the packages, verify the consignment note and immediately move the set into a prepared room. Damage and shortages are recorded in accordance with the seller's and carrier's rules, before unconditional acceptance of the goods where their procedures provide for it.

Why the record of the number of places must not be skipped

A situation is possible: according to the documents, three boxes were sent, two arrived at the address, but each shipment looks intact. If the buyer signs for receipt without verifying the number of places, it is later harder to establish when the shortage arose. Therefore, at the acceptance stage, you need to compare the number of places in the transport consignment note with the actual number and note the condition of each box. Then, already in the room, check completeness against the NPU list. These are two different levels of verification: logistics and goods.

For the carrier, a separate NPU overlay is not necessarily a separate cargo place. For the installer, however, every article matters. Do not mix these accounts. One document answers the question “what arrived in packages,” the other — “which parts must the rosette be assembled from.” Only together do they give the buyer a real picture of order fulfillment.

Seven mistakes that turn an expensive rosette into a complicated order

Buying based on the size of a finished composition. The buyer sees 1325 × 1325 mm and concludes that such a part will not fit through the door. But a composite pattern has separate fragments. The right question is the dimensions of the factory packaging, not of the assembled pattern. The opposite mistake is assuming that any modular product is necessarily packed compactly. Without supplier data, both conclusions are premature.

Measuring only the apartment door. The box fits through the 780-mm opening but cannot turn on a tight landing. A route plan with dimensions of the entrance, corridor, staircases, turns, and height above the load helps prevent this situation. For questionable sections, written confirmation from the carrier is needed, not an assumption based on a photo of the staircase.

Confusion between the number of parts and the number of packages. CRPU-069 has 64 elements, but this number cannot tell you how many boxes will arrive. RPU.VRS-001 has eight parts, but they do not have to travel in eight packages. Verify cargo places against the consignment note and products against the components list. These checks cannot replace one another.

Lack of control over right and left elements. When opening the packaging, everything may look correct at first glance, but during installation there may be an extra left overlay and a missing right one. It is useful to keep a printed copy of the kit contents nearby and check the NPU line by line. Correcting a discrepancy by trimming the part is a risky solution; first contact the seller.

Agreeing on delivery without lifting. The order says “courier,” but there is no line for “lifting to the fourth floor and carrying into the apartment.” When the boxes are already at the building entrance, an urgent search for people begins, and the product risks damage. Before payment, separately agree on the final delivery point, unloading, the work of the movers, and responsibility for carrying.

Installation before full inspection. The crew starts gluing the first elements without having found the missing fragment or without a mounting template. Work has to be stopped, the unfinished composition protected, and access to the ceiling arranged again. For a composite ceiling medallion, the correct sequence is acceptance, full recount, dry layout, and only then fixing.

Incomplete estimate. The price of CRPU-068 is lower than the price of CRPU-069, and the buyer concludes it is a bargain. But on the fourth floor, transportation, lifting, assembly of many modules, and base preparation can become significant. A financial decision is made based on two comparable offers that include all necessary services, and one does not try to guess the loaders' rate in advance.

Answers to questions about ordering composite ceiling medallions in St. Petersburg

Where to buy a ceiling medallion with delivery in Saint Petersburg?

In the official STAVROS category you can buy a ceiling medallion in St. Petersburg by a specific item code. Before payment, confirm availability, composition, packaging, and address delivery. If you need lifting to the floor without a freight elevator, arrange the service separately and obtain confirmation from the contractor.

Which of the five models is easier to lift to the fourth floor?

Based on the available data, this cannot be determined reliably: the factory dimensions and weight of all packages are unknown. RPU.VRS-001 is convenient for a preliminary comparison because its individual elements have known dimensions of 392 × 336 mm and 369 × 419 mm. But even for it, the actual packaging parameters and a check of stairway turns are needed.

If the finished ceiling medallion is wider than the entrance door, will it not fit?

Optional. For a modular composition, what matters is the size of the packed parts, not the outer width of the finished pattern. But if the packaging cannot pass along the available route and safe repacking has not been agreed, you should not buy the product counting on it being "lifted somehow."

How many parts should CRPU-069 contain?

The manufacturer's description states 64 elements of fifteen types. When accepting the delivery, check not only the total but also the quantity of each variety. Pay particular attention to item codes marked as right and left sides.

Does RPU.VRS-001 really consist of eight parts?

Yes, according to the STAVROS product page: four NPU-507 and four NPU-508. The overall dimensions of the composition are 911 × 911 × 18 mm. This helps verify the item list upon receipt, but does not provide the dimensions of the shipping boxes.

Is a mounting template needed for CRPU-068 and other composite products?

For a complex layout, a template is useful. The product pages for a number of models indicate that a paper version can be purchased separately. Check whether it is available for the selected item code, whether it is included in the invoice, and which layout scheme applies if the template is not purchased.

Can CRPU-071 be ordered for an apartment without a freight elevator?

Ceiling rosette CRPU-071 — a composite product 1365 × 1365 × 19 mm. This size alone does not prohibit purchase. But before paying, you need to find out the packaging dimensions, assess the route, and agree on the lift with the carrier. Without this information, a positive promise would be unfounded.

How much does it cost to carry a decorative rosette up to the fourth floor?

There is no single confirmed amount for all homes. The price is affected by the number of pieces, weight, dimensions, absence of an elevator, turns, the need for several movers, and yard conditions. Request a calculation based on the exact address and packaging parameters. Do not substitute it with an approximate rate from someone else's order.

What should I do if a broken overlay is discovered upon receipt?

Record the condition of the packaging and the product with photographs, keep the markings and documents, make a note according to the carrier's rules, and contact the seller. Do not glue the damaged part back on "temporarily" until the resolution procedure has been agreed: this may complicate further inspection and replacement.

Should I add the CPU-P ceiling kit to my order?

Only if the interior design requires an extended composition rather than a single socket. In an old home with existing cornices and valuable decor, additional elements may turn out to be unnecessary. Their transportation and installation would have to be checked separately.

The final choice for an apartment without a freight elevator

A conventional living room with an area of 28 m² and a ceiling height of 3.25 m allows consideration of different socket sizes. But the issue cannot be resolved based on the room area alone: the final choice depends on the chandelier, the free ceiling field, the historic finish, and the transport packaging. Therefore, the practical comparison table looks like this.

Rosette What is known What will stop the purchase until clarification
CRPU-070 765 mm, 24 pieces, 35,680 ₽ No data on boxes and lifting
CRPU-069 910 mm, 64 parts, 62,560 ₽ Packaging and inspection of 15 part types not agreed
RPU.VRS-001 911 mm, 8 parts, 67,360 ₽ Passage of packed elements not confirmed
CRPU-068 1325 mm, 72 parts, 50,480 ₽ Cargo dimensions and installation estimate not received
CRPU-071 1365 mm, 72,880 ₽ No complete logistics and installation specification

To begin with, it is worth requesting the transport parameters for CRPU-070 and RPU.VRS-001. The first model creates a smaller accent and has a lower product price; the second has a particularly clear eight-part nomenclature. CRPU-069 is suitable for comparison at the same size, while the larger CRPU-068 and CRPU-071 should only be discussed after the composition and the possibility of transferring cargo units have been approved. This is not a universal quality ranking: the order reflects the convenience preliminary discussion a specific apartment.

Before the final order, the buyer must have four confirmations: a suitable item code according to the ceiling plan, the composition and installation drawing, the actual packaging dimensions, and agreed delivery with lifting. After that, you can compare the final estimates and pay for the selected model. This procedure does not promise that any large decor will fit into any home, but it allows you to identify the problem in advance, while it can still be solved by choosing a product and logistics rather than by damaging an expensive socket on the staircase.
