Dimensions and Options
Description
KPU-077 is a polyurethane decorative molding with a pronounced repeating braid ornament. The profile measures 20 mm (0.79 in) wide, 10 mm (0.39 in) deep, and 2000 mm (78.74 in) long. Its interlaced relief creates a continuous ornamental rhythm that remains clearly visible while keeping the overall molding relatively compact.
This decorative braid trim can be used for wall panels, ceiling-area borders, furniture fronts, mirrors, door details, and layered molding compositions. KPU-077 is particularly effective where a plain linear profile would look too simple and the design requires a more expressive classical ornamental line

Braided Decorative Molding for Furniture, Doors, Panels, and Interior Details
KPU-077 is a braided decorative molding designed for interiors where a narrow profile needs more visual movement and relief than plain linear trim can provide.
Made from polyurethane, KPU-077 measures 20 mm (0.79 in) wide, 10 mm (0.39 in) deep, and 2000 mm (78.74 in) long. The ornament is built around an interwoven rhythm: diagonal raised elements alternate around smaller oval details, creating the appearance of a continuous braid running along the profile. These dimensions and the woven character of the ornament are confirmed by the current STAVROS product card. Ставрос Декор
KPU-077 can be used for:
- furniture fronts;
- cabinet and wardrobe panels;
- decorative door panels;
- wall-panel compositions;
- mirror surrounds;
- vertical and horizontal ornamental borders;
- framed interior details;
- layered molding systems;
- upper-wall decorative lines.
For other patterns and profile sizes, browse STAVROS decorative polyurethane molding and trim.
What Is a Braid Ornament?
A braid ornament is created by forms that appear to cross, twist, or weave around one another in a continuous sequence.
STAVROS defines the Braid motif as an ornament based on interwoven ribbons, cords, or shoots that create a continuous rhythm of interlacing. KPU-077 is the polyurethane profile currently shown in the company's dedicated Braid Ornament category. Ставрос Декор
That makes this model fundamentally different from:
- beaded molding;
- rope molding;
- geometric molding;
- leaf molding;
- floral scroll molding.
The eye does not see a row of separate beads or one simple twisted rope. Instead, it follows an alternating woven pattern across the length of the molding.
For U.S. terminology, the useful supporting phrases are:
braided trim
braid trim
ornamental molding
decorative trim molding
polyurethane molding
while the product itself can be naturally named:
KPU-077 Braided Decorative Molding.
Why I Would Not Call KPU-077 “Leaf Molding”
The previous V7 classification placed KPU-077 in the Leaf group.
After checking the actual product, that classification does not match the current STAVROS catalog.
The live product Description describes a dense geometric ornament with diagonal relief forming an effect of continuous weaving. The official STAVROS Braid filter contains KPU-077, and the Russian catalog categorizes it as «Косичка». Ставрос Декор
There are small oval and organic-looking details inside the pattern, but they do not make the product primarily a leaf molding.
So for this SKU I would correct our semantic table:
Was: Leaf
Should be: Braid / Braided Ornament
That prevents KPU-077 from competing unnecessarily with true leaf profiles such as KPU-012 or KPU-074.
Braided Trim for Furniture Fronts
Furniture is one of the most suitable applications for KPU-077.
The profile is 0.79 in wide, so it creates a more visible decorative line than very fine 9–11 mm trims while remaining compact enough for furniture-scale compositions.
KPU-077 can be used on:
- wardrobes;
- large cabinet doors;
- display cabinets;
- built-in furniture;
- decorative side panels;
- framed furniture fronts;
- architectural cabinetry.
A typical composition may use:
main furniture frame → KPU-077 braided molding → central panel
The outer profile establishes the main geometry.
KPU-077 introduces the interwoven ornament.
The center remains visually calmer.
This approach gives the furniture detail and depth without requiring a much wider floral or architectural molding.
Braided Molding for Cabinet and Wardrobe Panels
KPU-077 can also create a full decorative frame inside a large cabinet or wardrobe front.
The 20 mm width is substantial enough to remain visible across a tall panel.
At the same time, it does not consume as much of the central surface as a 50–70 mm ornamental profile.
When the same molding is repeated across several furniture fronts, keep:
- equal offsets from the edges;
- consistent frame dimensions;
- identical corner logic;
- matching pattern direction.
A braided ornament has a strong visual rhythm. Small inconsistencies become more noticeable when several panels are viewed together.
For broader furniture and architectural frames, KPU-077 can be paired with STAVROS polyurethane molding profiles.
Decorative Molding for Door Panels
The current STAVROS Description specifically lists door panels among the applications for KPU-077. Ставрос Декор
The profile can be used around:
- recessed door panels;
- decorative rectangular inserts;
- glazed sections;
- ornamental fields;
- cabinet-style interior doors.
KPU-077 should be treated as decorative molding applied to the door or panel rather than as the main structural door casing.
A door can therefore use:
functional casing around the opening
and
KPU-077 braided trim on the door leaf or decorative panel.
This keeps the architectural function and ornament clearly separated.
Braided Molding for Wall Panels
KPU-077 can also be incorporated into decorative wall-panel systems.
Its width makes it useful either as a primary ornamental border on a medium panel or as an inner decorative layer within a larger composition.
For example:
wide architectural molding → narrow gap → KPU-077 braided molding → central wall panel
This gives the panel several levels of depth.
The large outer molding provides scale.
KPU-077 introduces movement and detailed relief.
The central wall surface keeps the composition from becoming visually overcrowded.
Possible applications include:
- picture-frame wall molding;
- decorative wallpaper panels;
- mirror panels;
- accent-wall frames;
- architectural niches;
- panels behind furniture.
A Compact Profile With Pronounced Relief
KPU-077 measures:
20 mm / 0.79 in wide
and:
10 mm / 0.39 in deep.
This means its projection is half its face width.
The result is a molding that remains relatively narrow on the wall but produces clearly visible three-dimensional relief.
This is an important difference from shallow decorative trim.
A flat 20 mm molding primarily creates a line.
KPU-077 creates:
- a line;
- interwoven ornament;
- repeated highlights;
- small shadow pockets;
- a stronger sense of depth.
This makes the profile particularly effective when painted in the same color as the wall or furniture surface.
Even without color contrast, the relief remains visible.
KPU-077 in Classic Interiors
The braided motif has a traditional decorative character and works naturally in classic interiors.
STAVROS describes braid as an ornament based on interwoven ribbons or cords and notes its historic use across several ornamental traditions. Ставрос Декор
KPU-077 can therefore be coordinated with:
- paneled walls;
- traditional doors;
- decorative furniture;
- mirrors;
- architectural moldings;
- polyurethane decorative elements;
- classical cornice systems.
Because the braid already contains a lot of movement, surrounding profiles can often be simpler.
This gives the ornament enough room to be seen clearly.
KPU-077 in Neoclassical Interiors
The same profile can work in neoclassical interiors when used more selectively.
Possible applications include:
- one braided inner line inside a large wall frame;
- a decorative furniture border;
- one framed mirror;
- selected door-panel detailing;
- a horizontal ornamental line near the ceiling.
A tone-on-tone paint finish is particularly useful.
When KPU-077 and the wall are painted the same color, the ornament becomes visible mainly through light and shadow.
This reduces the historical heaviness of the pattern and can make it work in a cleaner contemporary setting.
KPU-077 as an Upper-Wall Decorative Border
STAVROS has specifically examined KPU-077 for installation near the ceiling perimeter.
The product remains a straight decorative molding rather than a conventional angled crown molding, but it can form an ornamental line high on the wall. Ставрос Декор
Possible arrangements include:
- a braided band below a larger crown profile;
- an ornamental line several inches below the ceiling;
- a decorative border above wall panels;
- one layer in a multi-profile ceiling-area composition.
This distinction matters for SEO and product accuracy.
KPU-077 can participate in ceiling-area decoration, but the page should not rename the product crown molding simply to target a larger search term.
Why Total Installed Length Changes the Visual Effect
A 20 mm molding viewed as one short sample appears relatively compact.
The same pattern repeated around an entire room can become much more visually prominent.
STAVROS makes this exact point in its KPU-077 application guide: the effect depends not only on profile width but also on the depth of relief, ornament complexity, total installed length, contrast, room size, and ceiling height. Ставрос Декор
This is especially important for a braid pattern.
A 12–18 meter continuous ornamental line creates a much stronger rhythm than a single 30 cm sample.
Before ordering KPU-077 for a full-room perimeter, evaluate the complete composition rather than the molding in isolation.
KPU-077 vs. Rope Molding
Braid molding and rope molding are related but not identical.
Rope molding usually reads as one continuous twisted cord.
Braided molding creates a more complex interwoven effect, where multiple forms appear to pass around or across one another.
For STAVROS:
KPU-125 → Rope Molding
KPU-077 → Braided Decorative Molding
This distinction is useful for buyers and also prevents the product pages from competing for exactly the same ornament terminology.
KPU-077 vs. Beaded Molding
KPU-077 should also not be grouped with beaded profiles such as KPU-006 or KPU-105.
Beaded molding uses a regular sequence of individual rounded beads.
KPU-077 uses interwoven diagonal relief with smaller oval details inside the pattern.
Therefore:
KPU-006 / KPU-105 → Beaded Molding
KPU-077 → Braided Decorative Molding
The ornament determines the product name—not simply the presence of small rounded details.
KPU-077 vs. Plain Geometric Molding
The current product Description calls KPU-077 a geometric molding, which is understandable because the repeat is highly structured. Ставрос Декор
However, geometric molding is too broad to be the primary product name.
The actual distinguishing feature is the continuous weaving effect.
So the hierarchy should be:
Braided Decorative Molding — primary
geometric ornament / repeating geometric relief — descriptive supporting language
rather than using generic Geometric Molding as the main H1.

Pattern Alignment at Longitudinal Joints
A braid pattern needs careful alignment when two molding lengths meet.
A physical joint can be tight and still interrupt the visual weaving.
Potential problems include:
- two diagonal bands meeting at the wrong phase;
- one oval detail becoming compressed;
- an unusually wide gap in the repeating ornament;
- a visible break in the braided rhythm.
Before cutting:
- place the two KPU-077 sections together;
- identify the ornament repeat;
- choose the most natural joint location;
- mark both pieces;
- dry-fit;
- inspect the pattern from the normal viewing distance.
This is particularly important for long wall and upper-wall runs.
Planning Corners With Braided Molding
Corners also need to be evaluated as part of the ornament.
For a rectangular panel:
- establish all finished dimensions first;
- make one test corner;
- inspect how the diagonal braid terminates at the miter;
- compare the opposite corner;
- maintain consistent cutting logic throughout the frame.
Perfect pattern symmetry at all four corners may not always be possible.
The goal is visual balance and avoidance of obviously awkward partial motifs.
How Much KPU-077 Should You Order?
Each KPU-077 molding is 2000 mm / 78.74 in long.
Begin with the actual linear length required.
Then allow for:
- miter cuts;
- pattern matching;
- longitudinal joints;
- usable and unusable offcuts;
- repeated frames;
- installation reserve.
For a full-room upper-wall border, calculate each wall separately before optimizing the cutting map.
For wall or furniture frames, calculate all sides rather than relying only on total perimeter.
Patterned molding benefits from a cutting plan made before the final order.
Choosing KPU-077 Instead of a Simpler Profile
Choose KPU-077 when the project needs:
- a visible interwoven ornament;
- more movement than plain trim;
- a 20 mm decorative line;
- medium-depth relief;
- furniture or door-panel detailing;
- ornamental wall frames;
- an upper-wall decorative border.
Choose a plain molding when the main goal is clean geometry.
Choose a rope profile when one continuous twisted cord is preferred.
Choose beaded molding when the design calls for separate rounded elements.
KPU-077 is specifically valuable because of its braided visual rhythm.
Combining KPU-077 With Other STAVROS Moldings
KPU-077 works particularly well when paired with simpler architectural profiles.
For example:
wide smooth molding → KPU-077 braided molding → central panel
or:
plain furniture frame → KPU-077 ornamental trim → inset panel
The difference between simple geometry and interwoven relief helps the decorative pattern remain readable.
For larger framing profiles, browse STAVROS polyurethane moldings.
For rope, bead, Bead & Barrel, floral, geometric, and other ornament types, compare the full decorative polyurethane molding and trim collection.
Buy KPU-077 Braided Decorative Molding
KPU-077 is available from STAVROS as a polyurethane braided decorative molding for furniture fronts, door panels, wall panels, mirrors, framed details, and upper-wall ornamental compositions.
Customers looking to buy KPU-077 decorative molding can check the current KPU-077 price, dimensions, availability, and ordering options directly on the product page.
For this SKU, I would use the following semantic hierarchy:
KPU-077 Braided Decorative Molding
braided trim
braid trim
braid ornament molding
polyurethane decorative molding
ornamental molding
while broader decorative molding, polyurethane molding, decorative trim molding, furniture molding, and furniture trim remain supporting vocabulary.
