In the hallway between doors, there are two wall sections of similar size close to each other. On each, you want to place a square mirror so that the pair is perceived as a single composition, not as two randomly hung items. For such a task, you can consider identical RM-040 frames 600×600 mm, but buying them just because both wall sections are "roughly the same" is not worth it.

A paired composition requires a different sequence. First, each wall section is measured separately, then a common architectural line is chosen — the same center height, top mark, or another axis. After that, check how much wall will remain around each 600×600 mm outer contour, get a confirmed mirror glass size, and only then place an order for two identical frames.

If the task is already defined and a specific product is needed, you can buy the RM-040 600×600 frame in a quantity of two pieces. But the specification should include not only two identical items, but also two separate installation points: wall section A and wall section B.

RM-040 600×600 frame: what exactly we are buying

RM-040 is a square MDF mirror frame. The confirmed product size is 600×600×49 mm, sanding quality is "Prestige". At the time of preparing the material, the cost of one frame is 16,450 ₽, and the product is available on order.

This is important for two reasons at once.

First, RM-040 cannot be described as oak, beech, or made of solid wood. The base is MDF, and further work with color should be based on this material.

Second, 600×600 mm is the external dimension of the frame. It helps check whether the product fits on the wall, but it is not automatically the size of the mirror panel. For the glazier, a confirmed internal dimension or a drawing of the specific frame is needed.

In a paired project, this difference is especially critical. An error in determining the mirror will be repeated twice. If you simply send the phrase "two mirrors 600×600" to the glass workshop, you may get two panels that do not match the RM-040 fit.

Therefore, it is better to split the purchase into three levels:

  1. two RM-040 frames;
  2. two mirror panels with confirmed dimensions;
  3. installation and retention of each finished mirror on a specific wall.

The price of two frames is only the first level.

First, measure the two piers separately

Visually identical wall sections often differ by 10–40 mm. The reason may not be a builder's error. One door casing is wider than another, near one door there is a switch, on the other side there is a console, and the edge of the adjacent wall is slightly shifted.

Therefore, you cannot take one measurement and transfer it to the second wall.

Each wall section needs its own diagram:

Parameter Wall section A Wall section B
Net wall width ___ mm ___ mm
Available height ___ mm ___ mm
Left casing ___ mm ___ mm
Right casing ___ mm ___ mm
Switches/outlets Yes / no Yes / no
Wall lamp or backlighting Yes / no Yes / no
Baseboard/console at the bottom ___ ___
Selected frame axis ___ ___
Top elevation ___ ___

It is useful to apply dimensions not only to the plan, but also to the frontal photo of the wall. Then it becomes clear which elements actually affect the frame.

If one wall segment is 720 mm and the second is 760 mm, identical RM-040 can still work well. The difference in wall width does not mean that you need to buy two different frames. The same object can remain the center of the composition, and the margins around it will differ.

First, you need to decide whether such margins are acceptable in this particular hallway.

RM-040 on a 720 mm wall segment: how much wall will remain on the edges

For the first training wall segment, we take a clean width of 720 mm.

The external width of RM-040 is 600 mm.

Remaining wall:

720 − 600 = 120 mm.

If the frame is centered exactly on the wall pier:

120 / 2 = 60 mm on each side.

For the second pier with a width of 760 mm:

760 − 600 = 160 mm.

When centered, you get:

160 / 2 = 80 mm on each side.

Wall pier Left field Right field
720 мм 60 мм 60 мм
760 мм 80 мм 80 мм

In a separate photo, each frame may look correct. But when both piers are visible at the same time, the difference between 60 and 80 mm becomes part of the overall composition.

This is where the main question of paired installation arises: what is more important — perfectly centering each frame on its own wall or maintaining a single visual line for two mirrors?

The answer depends on the hallway architecture. If doorways and upper trim create a strong rhythm, equal frame heights may be more important than equal side margins. If the piers are separated and do not fall into one glance, local centering may look more natural.

You cannot fix all wall differences with one frame size. You need to choose a main rule and apply it consistently.

Two identical frames are better aligned along one architectural line.

On the wall, several possible reference points exist simultaneously: the ceiling, the top of doors, the trim line, the console, light fixtures, switches, and baseboard. If you choose a different reference for each RM-040, the pairing will quickly disappear.

For two square frames, it is useful to check three options.

Same center height

Both frames receive one center mark from the finished floor. This is the most understandable way to create a calm pair, especially if the wall sections are similar in height and located in the same corridor.

With a frame size of 600 mm, the top and bottom boundaries will automatically match if the centers are set at the same height.

For example, if the center is chosen at 1500 mm, the outer contour will occupy the range from 1200 to 1800 mm. This is just a design example, not a universal installation height.

Same top mark

This option is convenient when identical door portals define the composition. The tops of the frames can be tied to the top line of the trims or another agreed horizontal line.

For two identical squares, the top mark will simultaneously set the same height of centers. But the solution still needs to be fixed on the layout, not leaving the installer the phrase "hang approximately at door level."

Individual centering of each pier

This way you can get two geometrically correct separate compositions that appear disjointed when placed side by side. For example, if one pier has a console underneath and the other is free, the local centers may end up at different heights.

This option is not prohibited. It just needs to be chosen deliberately.

Before ordering, it is useful to draw both RM-040 simultaneously on a common photo of the wall. It is the overall view that shows whether there is pairing.

Side margins do not have to be equal if the frames themselves are equal

The desire to get equal margins around two frames is understandable, but this is not always possible without changing the architecture.

Let's imagine piers of 720 and 760 mm. If both RM-040 are centered, the margins will be 60 and 80 mm. To get the same 60 mm on the second pier, one would have to either shift the frame or artificially consider some other element as part of the pier.

Shifting by 20 mm to one side will give margins of 60 and 100 mm. Formally, one of them will match the first pier, but the composition will become asymmetric within the second section.

Therefore, measuring only the distance from the frame to the nearest trim is not enough. You need to see both sides.

For a paired composition, it is usually more important to preserve:

  • the same external frame size;
  • one height system;
  • the same orientation;
  • a unified color and gloss;
  • the same mounting style.

A difference in the wall margin within an architecturally understandable context can be perceived more calmly than two different frames chosen only for the sake of an identical remainder at the edges.

We order two mirror panels only after checking RM-040

The external square of 600×600 mm cannot be sent to the glazier as the finished mirror size.

The frame has an external contour and an internal assembly into which the reflective part is installed. To manufacture two panels, confirmed data specifically for RM-040 must be obtained.

The glazier's task must include:

  • width and height of each pane;
  • acceptable thickness;
  • edge processing requirements;
  • installation gap, if provided;
  • pane retention scheme;
  • necessary rear structural elements.

If the seller provides a drawing or template, it is better to use it as the source document. If the structure is assembled by a furniture maker or glass workshop, the contractor must confirm the compatibility of their scheme with the frame.

Pairing helps here: after confirming the same design, two identical mirror panes can be ordered. But even in this case, it is useful to mark them as A and B in the order. Such marking helps avoid mixing up finished units on site, especially if the walls differ in mounting base.

An error when ordering one frame is unpleasant. In a paired project, it multiplies across two items at once, so the verification stage cannot be skipped for the sake of speed.

One RM-040 for a trial or two at once

When an interior is built around a pair of identical frames, the natural question arises: whether to buy one for a trial or order two right away.

If the wall geometry is not yet confirmed, a single trial frame can be useful. It allows checking the actual scale of 600×600 mm, the depth of 49 mm, the proximity to architraves, and the chosen color.

But before such a purchase, it is worth deciding in advance what will happen to this first frame later.

If it fits and will be part of the final composition, it should be counted as the first of the two. Then the second order is one additional frame, not two more.

If the first one is used only as an experimental piece, undergoes test finishing, or gets damaged during fitting, it cannot automatically be considered part of the final pair.

At the same time, for a project where visual uniformity matters, it is rational to discuss two identical items as a single purchase. This simplifies the specification and allows coordinating surface treatment and finishing simultaneously.

Absolute identity of two items cannot be promised, but randomly ordering a second frame after a long gap without checking parameters is also undesirable.

The color of the two frames is approved simultaneously

RM-040 is made of MDF. Therefore, there is no need to discuss matching oak texture or a beautiful wood grain pattern. The main question is the finish surface.

For a pair, three directions are usually considered.

In the color of the trim. The frames support door portals and become part of the hallway's architecture.

In the color of the wall. The outline remains noticeable due to its shape and depth, but does not become a separate contrasting spot.

Contrasting color. Two identical frames form an independent rhythm and can become the main decorative element of the wall.

Any option is better to test immediately in two places. A color that works well on one wall section next to a light door may be perceived differently on the second if there is a cabinet, sconce, or dark furniture nearby.

Before final finishing, it is worth making a sample next to the actual trim and wall. There is no need to select the second frame "by eye" after completing the first.

If preparation and finishing technology is required, it is useful to look in advance at Advice on finishing and installation, and agree on the final coating system with the contractor.

Price of two RM-040: we count a pair, not a single card

One RM-040 currently costs 16,450 ₽.

Two frames:

16 450 × 2 = 32 900 ₽.

This is the cost of two MDF frames, not two finished mirrors on the wall.

For a real budget, a full bill of quantities is needed:

Position Quantity
RM-040 600×600×49 mm 2
Mirror panels 2
Edge processing 2
Back elements/retention As per project
Finish According to the estimate
wall mounting As per project
Installation According to the estimate
Delivery Separately

If the first trial frame remains in the final pair, its cost is already included in these 32,900 ₽. There is no need to count it as a separate third item.

The cost of glass, processing, finishing, and installation cannot be derived from the frame price. These items depend on the chosen contractor and the specific design.

Before payment, it is reasonable to check terms of payment and delivery of frames, especially if installation is tied to a specific date. Production lead time and actual delivery date are different stages.

If one wall section turned out to be noticeably narrower than the second

Suppose after finishing, one wall section became 610 mm instead of the planned 720 mm.

Formally, an external frame of 600 mm leaves only 10 mm, that is, 5 mm on each side when centered. Such arithmetic shows that the composition almost touches the wall boundaries.

But even a positive remainder does not mean the installation is good. You need to check trims, unevenness, fastening, profile depth, the adjacent door, and installation feasibility.

If one of the two sections has become too tight, there are several options:

  • reconsider the position of the frames;
  • change the architectural alignment;
  • adjust adjacent elements if the project is not yet completed;
  • abandon RM-040 for both piers and choose another identical model.

The latter option often looks cleaner than keeping RM-040 on one wall and placing a random different frame on the second just because it is smaller.

In such a situation, it is better look at frames for mirrors and again choose a pair, not two separate solutions.

When two identical RM-040 units do not need to be purchased

Pairing should not become an end in itself.

Do not order two RM-040 units if the piers are not visible simultaneously and serve completely different functions. For example, one is located above a console, the second is near a tall cabinet and requires a different reflection proportion.

Do not buy a pair if on one pier the 600 mm outer contour fits confidently, while on the second only a formal minimum gap remains without the possibility of proper installation.

Do not order mirror panels before confirming their size.

Do not consider two frames as a ready-made mirror set if the glass, back part, and wall mounting have not yet been determined.

And you shouldn't buy two RM-040 frames just for a discount or the convenience of a single order if the overall layout shows that the composition doesn't work.

Identical frames make sense when the sameness truly connects two sections of the hallway.

Mistakes when ordering a pair of RM-040

Mistake: measuring only one wall section. The second wall may differ in width, trim, and adjacent elements. Two separate diagrams are needed.

Mistake: centering each frame independently. With different furniture or door heights, two individually correct compositions may no longer be perceived as a pair. First, choose a common line.

Mistake: ordering two 600×600 mm mirrors based on the outer frame dimensions. The outer size does not confirm the panel size.

Mistake: considering 32,900 RUB as the cost of two ready-made mirrors. This is only for two frames. Other items are calculated separately.

Mistake: calling RM-040 a solid wood frame. The product material is MDF.

Mistake: painting one frame first and then coordinating the second later based on a photo. For a paired composition, it's better to approve one color task and one sample.

Mistake: trying to make the margins around two frames identical at any cost. If the wall sections differ, forced shifting can ruin the local composition more than a difference in free margin.

How to order two RM-040 frames without ambiguity

For the seller, a simple product line is needed:

RM-040 / MDF / 600×600×49 mm / "Prestige" / 2 pcs. / identical finish / final finish to be agreed separately.

Two wall diagrams are attached to it.

For the glazier, a separate document is prepared:

mirror A — ___ × ___ mm;
mirror B — ___ × ___ mm;
dimensions confirmed according to RM-040 design;
thickness — ___;
edge treatment — ___;
retention method — ___.

For the installer:

wall section A — frame center ___ mm from finished floor;
wall section B — frame center ___ mm from finished floor;
top line — ___ mm;
wall A base type — ___;
wall B base type — ___.

If one center height is selected, it must be written as a number. The phrase "hang at the same level" leaves too much freedom on site.

After checking dimensions, appearance, and completeness, you can order two frames RM-040 one item in the quantity of two pieces.

Questions before purchasing two RM-040 frames

How much does one RM-040 cost?

As of the time of writing the article, the card shows 16,450 ₽ for a 600×600×49 mm MDF frame in the "Prestige" finish.

How much do two RM-040 frames cost?

Two frames at the current price cost 32,900 ₽. Mirror panels, finishing, installation, and delivery are not automatically included in this amount.

What is the size of RM-040?

The confirmed external size is 600×600×49 mm.

What is RM-040 made of?

Made of MDF. Calling this model a beech or oak solid wood frame is incorrect.

Will the RM-040 fit on a 720 mm wall pier?

By external width — yes. When centered, 60 mm of wall will remain on each side. But this is only frontal geometry: adjacent elements and installation need to be checked.

Should the margins around two frames be the same?

No. If the wall piers differ in width, identical frames may have different margins. What matters more is choosing a common composition rule in advance.

Which line is better for aligning two mirrors?

The one that truly organizes the hallway architecture: more often this is the common height of centers or the top mark related to door portals.

Is the mirror glass included in the price of the RM-040?

It cannot be considered included without direct confirmation of the configuration. In the estimate, it is better to keep the glass as a separate line item.

Can mirrors measuring 600×600 mm be ordered?

This size cannot be derived only from the external frame dimension. For the glass, a confirmed internal dimension or a drawing is required.

Is it better to order two identical frames at the same time?

If they are meant to work as a strict pair, it is convenient for a single specification and simultaneous coordination of the finish. But the geometry of both jambs should still be checked before purchase.

What to do if one jamb is significantly narrower than the other?

First, check whether RM-040 passes technically and visually. If not, it is better to reconsider the composition as a whole and, if necessary, choose a different identical model for both locations.

How to choose the color of two frames?

Compare the sample with trims, wall, furniture, and lighting at both points at once. The color and degree of gloss should be approved as a single task for the pair.

Can one frame be used as a trial?

Yes, if it is decided in advance whether it will later be part of the final pair. If it remains suitable after testing, there is no need to buy a third frame.

Where to choose other frames for mirrors if RM-040 is not suitable?

You can go to the section where it is presented buy mirror frameand select another identical model for both piers.
