Description
PAN-005 – Slat panel made of MDF and solid wood on a fabric base
A modern modular decorative solution – a slatted panel on a flexible fabric base. This model is suitable for furniture decoration and interior design.
Technical Specifications
Triangular elements are glued onto a fabric base, carefully sanded and ready for painting. Three finish options are available:
• Deep-milled MDF for painting with enamels – for bright, modern solutions;
• Solid oak or beech for tinting and coating with transparent varnishes – for connoisseurs of natural texture and the aesthetics of natural wood.
Installation
Panels are fixed using contact adhesive. Additional mechanical fastening with micro-pins using a pneumatic gun is recommended. Fastening points are puttied and sanded if necessary. Recommendations for painting MDF panels
Before painting, MDF slatted panels must be primed. It is recommended to apply two coats of polyurethane-based insulating primer with intermediate sanding of raised fibers. Priming is advisable to perform before panel installation. Proper surface preparation ensures high-quality painting and significantly reduces paint consumption.
For panels used in furniture decoration, we recommend polyurethane and acrylic enamels. They form a wear-resistant coating that is resistant to abrasion, temperature fluctuations, and wet cleaning. Painting with these materials is carried out in a spray booth.
For panels used in interior decoration, water-based paints on acrylic or latex bases are optimal. Such compositions are environmentally friendly, do not have a strong solvent odor, and dry quickly. They can be used in residential premises directly during renovation.
Recommendations for finishing solid beech and oak panels
• Painting with various colored enamels and paints with preliminary primer application;
• Application of colored stains, patinas, and varnishes on various bases, highlighting the beauty of natural wood;
• One of the simple and economical ways to protect wood is by applying oils (we recommend Rubio Monocoat). The oil reliably protects the surface from water and wear, gives a rich color, and vividly highlights the wood grain.
For ease of transportation and storage, panels are supplied rolled into compact rolls.

The company ordered the pens for us when we ordered furniture. But I decided to write a review personally because they are amazing! Stylish, expensive, high-quality!
More than 20 years on the market
The company's success began in 2002, when two artists — Andrey Ragozin and Evgeny Tsapko — created a small creative workshop for producing wooden carved items. The masters' work was quickly noticed, and within a year they were invited to participate in the reconstruction of the Konstantinovskiy Palace in Strelna.
After the success of this project, the company focused on recreating palace interiors, furniture, church furnishings, and carved decorations in various artistic styles. They worked with cultural heritage sites: The Hermitage, the Alexandrovsky Palace, the Troitsko-Izmaylovsky Cathedral, the Sheremetyevsky Mansion, and many others.
The masters' task — and still is — to create wooden items with the highest level of detail and understanding of every element, based on impeccable knowledge of artistic laws and interior styles.

Slat panel PAN-005 for walls, furniture, and curved surfaces
Slat panel PAN-005 is not a flat cladding or a regular board: it is a decorative relief panel with a frequent vertical slat pattern that creates an expressive 3D texture on the surface. The relief with a profile depth of 9 mm forms a rhythmic vertical pattern visible in any lighting, and the panel width of 1010 mm allows quickly covering a large area with minimal joints. PAN-005 is available in MDF, beech, and oak, is designed for finishing, and is suitable for both residential and commercial interiors.
The main purpose of PAN-005 is to quickly create an expressive vertical texture: decorate an accent wall, column, reception desk, furniture facade, or curved decorative surface without complex installation and additional molding compositions.
Where PAN-005 is used
Slatted decorative panel PAN-005 covers a wide range of furniture and interior tasks — from living rooms to commercial spaces.
Accent walls in residential interiors — TV zones, walls behind a sofa or bed, hallways and foyers. The vertical relief of PAN-005 creates a full decorative background without plastering techniques, patterned wallpaper or additional finishing: the panel itself is the decor.
Columns, half-columns and radius walls — one of the key features of PAN-005. The thin 9 mm profile and slatted panel design allow use on curved surfaces: columns in living rooms and halls, rounded walls, radius stands and architectural niches. Before installation on a radius, it is necessary to check the base, the permissible bending radius and the fastening method, taking into account the specific panel material.
Reception desks and bar counters — decorative slatted wood panel for cladding the front surfaces of receptions, bars and administrative areas. The vertical relief on the counter facade gives the commercial space materiality and natural warmth.
Furniture facades, cabinets, chests, consoles — PAN-005 as a cladding material for furniture surfaces: cabinet fronts, chest sides, front panels of consoles and built-in furniture. The slatted relief turns an ordinary flat facade into an architecturally expressive element.
Partitions and zoning structures — solid wood decorative panels For finishing partitions in residential and commercial spaces, when the partition should not only separate zones but also become a decorative accent.
Commercial interiors — cafes, restaurants, offices, showrooms, beauty salons, hotels, and any spaces where natural material and expressive texture are part of branding or design concept.
The panel can be used as an interior accent, furniture cladding, or decorative finish for straight and complex-shaped surfaces — the function is determined by the project's task.
Size 1010 mm and profile 9 mm: practical value
Panel width A = 1010 mm is one of the key working parameters of PAN-005. On a standard wall with a height of 2700–3000 mm, three to four panels with a width of 1010 mm cover the entire plane horizontally with a minimum number of vertical joints. The wide format reduces installation time, simplifies layout, and decreases the visibility of seams in the finished coating.
Relief depth C = 9 mm is a working balance between visual expressiveness and practicality. 9 mm create a well-readable light-shadow play: each slat receives an illuminated front plane and a shaded side, making the relief visible under any type of lighting — both spot and diffused. At the same time, 9 mm is not a massive volumetric decor, but a neat profile that does not 'absorb' space or weigh down narrow rooms.
The frequent spacing of slats creates a dense, uniform rhythm on the surface. This distinguishes PAN-005 from panels with rare wide slats: the dense pattern is perceived as a single texture, not as a set of individual elements. The surface looks textured and material, but remains calm and does not overload the interior with excessive detailing.
The panel length depends on the material and the chosen version: MDF is supplied in lengths of 950 mm and 2670 mm, beech and oak — in lengths of 950 mm and 2400 mm. Before ordering, it is necessary to check the required length against the room height or furniture element size and calculate the layout scheme considering joints, trimming, and transitions to the ceiling, floor, and corners.
Frequent vertical relief as an interior accent
The vertical rhythm of PAN-005 slats works on several levels of perception. Visually, vertical lines stretch the surface upward: even at a standard height of 2700 mm, a wall with a slatted panel appears higher than it actually is. This is especially valuable in small spaces where you need to create a sense of spaciousness and air without complex architectural changes.
The play of light and shadow is a natural property of the PAN-005 relief pattern. With side or spot lighting, each slat casts its own shadow: the surface lives and changes throughout the day depending on the direction and intensity of light. This makes a wall or furniture facade with PAN-005 a dynamic element of the interior — it looks different in the morning and evening, under artificial and natural light.
The frequent vertical relief of PAN-005 helps create a calm yet expressive background: the surface looks architectural, adds depth to the interior, and emphasizes the natural texture of the material. The panel works as a standalone decor without additional moldings, stucco cornices, or complex wall compositions.
Materials: MDF, beech, and oak
Slat panel PAN-005 is produced in three materials. The choice between them is entirely determined by the finish, operating conditions, and visual concept of the project.
MDF: a stable base for painted interiors
MDF is a homogeneous material without natural texture, providing a predictable, even result under any coating. MDF slatted panel — the optimal choice for projects where the surface needs to be painted in an exact color: to match the wall color, furniture, or the branded interior of a cafe or office.
For MDF, an additional version is available — Prestige primed. The primed panel is supplied with a base primer layer applied, which speeds up final painting on site: no separate priming operation is required before applying enamel. This reduces labor costs during finishing work and minimizes the risk of uneven paint absorption on the relief edges of the slats.
On relief surfaces with complex profiles — and PAN-005 is exactly that — even paint application requires careful work with a brush or spray in the corners of the slats. The primed version makes this process more manageable: the base is already sealed, and the final coat lays more evenly.
Beech: natural solid wood for painting and glazing
Slatted panel made of beech — a choice for projects where a natural wood base is important, but the texture should remain calm and neutral. Beech takes enamel and glazing coatings well: under dense paint, its surface behaves predictably; under light tinting, it provides a warm neutral background without a pronounced grain pattern.
Beech is a natural choice for mixed interiors where a slatted panel is joined with other wooden elements of the same species: moldings, trims, frame parts, or wooden elements for furniture.
Oak: expressive texture for tinting and oil
oak slat panel — a solution for projects where the natural wood grain is a key decorative element. On the slatted surface of oak, the texture reveals itself especially expressively: the fibers run along each slat, the species' "mirrors" create a characteristic graphic pattern, unique to each panel fragment.
Under tinting, the oak panel acquires a deep color with internal contrast: dark pores and light fibers do not merge into a uniform tone but create a lively, rich pattern. On large relief surfaces—accent walls, columns, facades—the oak slatted panel looks particularly impressive. Under oil or clear varnish, oak retains its natural warmth and matte finish, which is valued in Japandi, eco, and modern neoclassical interiors.
MDF and beech are more often chosen for painting, while oak is for projects with an open natural wood texture.
Which styles PAN-005 suits
The vertical relief of PAN-005 is versatile in its stylistic range. Under enamel in white or neutral colors, the panel reads in the spirit of modern minimalism and Scandinavian style: clean geometric texture without color accents. Under dark tinting or aged oil on oak, the panel takes on the character of Japandi or loft: materiality, natural warmth, a "living" surface.
Modern interior and minimalism — vertical rhythm as the only decorative technique on an accent wall. Clean lines, no unnecessary elements, all expressiveness through texture and light.
Japandi and eco-style — oak PAN-005 with oil or clear varnish as an embodiment of natural material without additional processing. Natural wood grain, warm tones, organic texture.
Scandinavian style and contemporary — panel with light enamel or neutral tinting. Expressive texture against white or light gray walls.
Commercial interiors: cafes, restaurants, showrooms, hotels — wooden 3D panel for interior as a branding element. PAN-005 creates a premium feel of natural material at a relatively affordable cost per square meter of finishing.
Neoclassicism in a modern interpretation — slat panel instead of traditional molding compositions as a more concise, "cleaned" version of classic paneling.
"Prestige" sanding quality: important for textured surfaces
On a slat panel with frequent slat spacing, the sanding quality is evident on every square centimeter of the visible surface. Unlike a flat panel, here each slat has several planes: the front face, sides, and the base between slats — and all of them are visible under oblique lighting and when applying the final coating.
Uneven sanding on a textured surface means: different levels of gloss on the same plane after painting, visible processing marks on the sides of slats when tinting, uneven absorption of oil or varnish on areas with different final processing grit.
The "Prestige" quality for PAN-005 includes sequential sanding of all working surfaces of the relief to a final grit value: the front planes of the slats, the sides of the bevels, and the bottom of the inter-slat grooves. The panel is supplied ready for primer and topcoat application. In the primed version, MDF additionally provides a smooth base surface for subsequent painting on site without the need for a primary priming operation.
How to choose PAN-005 for a project
Step 1 — determine the surface. A straight wall, column, curved section, furniture facade, partition, or counter — each type of surface has its own requirements for installation and material selection. For curved sections, check the base and the permissible fastening method in advance, taking into account the panel material.
Step 2 — choose the material. MDF for enamel and painting, beech for enamel or glazing, oak for tinting, oil, or clear varnish. For commercial interiors with high surface load, consider additional finish options with protective properties.
Step 3 — calculate the layout scheme. The panel width of 1010 mm simplifies the calculation: divide the wall width by 1010 mm, taking joints into account. Plan the location of vertical joints on the wall — ideally, they should fall in less noticeable areas or be hidden by a corner, furniture, or decorative element.
Step 4 — check the panel length against the room height. MDF 2670 mm covers the standard height of 2700 mm with minimal trimming. Beech and oak 2400 mm are suitable for rooms with a height of up to 2400 mm. For taller rooms with solid wood, a horizontal joint with a well-thought-out location will be required.
Step 5 — account for trimming allowance. For straight walls — 5–7% of the calculated area. For surfaces with niches, protrusions, columns, and curved sections — 10–15%.
Step 6 — plan the transitions. The joint with the ceiling, baseboard, and corners should be planned before installation: for PAN-005, it is recommended to use Wooden moldings or appropriate profile strips for neat edge finishing.
Who is PAN-005 suitable for

Private customers — each item is available for retail from one unit for independent design of accent walls, TV zones, hallways, and other decorative elements according to your own project.
PAN-005 is chosen for projects where an expressive vertical texture, natural material, and the ability to design not only a flat wall but also a curved surface or furniture element are needed. Related range: Carved wooden decoration, wooden elements for furniture и wooden interior decor.
PAN-005 — the essentials in brief
Slat panel PAN-005 — a decorative relief panel with frequent vertical slats for walls, furniture, columns, curved surfaces, and interior finishing. It helps create an expressive 3D texture, add depth to the interior, and design an accent area without complex decor or additional molding compositions.
The panel has a width of 1010 mm and a relief depth of 9 mm. The frequent vertical rhythm visually elongates the surface, creates a play of light and shadow, and is well-suited for modern residential and commercial interiors: TV zones, walls behind a sofa or bed, reception areas, bar counters, furniture facades, partitions, and columns.
PAN-005 is available in MDF, beech, and oak. MDF and beech are convenient to choose for enamel and painting, while oak is for tinting, varnish, or oil when it is important to preserve the natural wood texture. Before ordering, it is recommended to verify the material, panel length, layout scheme, and installation features on the chosen surface.
