More than 20 years on the market
The company's success began in 2002, when two artists — Andrey Ragozin and Evgeny Tsapko — created a small creative workshop for producing wooden carved items. The masters' work was quickly noticed, and within a year they were invited to participate in the reconstruction of the Konstantinovskiy Palace in Strelna.
After the success of this project, the company focused on recreating palace interiors, furniture, church furnishings, and carved decorations in various artistic styles. They worked with cultural heritage sites: The Hermitage, the Alexandrovsky Palace, the Troitsko-Izmaylovsky Cathedral, the Sheremetyevsky Mansion, and many others.
The masters' task — and still is — to create wooden items with the highest level of detail and understanding of every element, based on impeccable knowledge of artistic laws and interior styles.

L1605 Baseboard from Polystyrene HI WOOD — High Profile for Respectable Interiors
Decorative elements proportional to spacious rooms with high ceilings are required to create harmonious proportions and emphasize the scale of the space.Polystyrene baseboardL1605 model from the South Korean manufacturer HI WOOD with dimensions 90 × 13.7 × 2000 mm is a high, expressive profile, specially designed for spacious rooms and interiors with ceilings from 3 meters. ThisPolystyrene floor baseboardcombines impressive height of 90 mm, which creates a powerful visual accent and architectural expressiveness, with optimal thickness of 13.7 mm, ensuring an ideal balance between secure mounting and elegant lines.
Height of 90 mm belongs to the category of high baseboards and is an ideal choice for spacious rooms, country houses, luxury apartments, executive offices, and public spaces with ceiling heights of 3–3.5 meters and above. Such height creates an expressive architectural framing that visually structures the space, emphasizes the scale of the room, and gives the interior a respectable, prestigious character. A 90 mm profile effectively conceals significant technological gaps up to 15–20 mm between the floor covering and the wall, masks irregularities at the junction, and provides reliable protection for the lower part of the wall from mechanical damage up to a height unreachable for standard baseboards.
Thickness of 13.7 mm represents an optimal value, ensuring sufficient rigidity of the high profile without excessive bulk. Such thickness creates a reliable mounting surface for applyingadhesive for polystyrene baseboardsand guarantees that the high profile will not bend during installation even on walls with minor irregularities. At the same time, the baseboard retains the elegance of its lines and does not appear overly bulky. Standard length of 2000 mm allows effectively covering the perimeter of spacious rooms with an optimal number of joints.
The production material — phytopolymer (high-density polystyrene) with density 680 kg/m³ — provides a unique combination of strength, lightness, and durability even for a high profile. One linear meter of L1605 baseboard weighs only about 160 grams, which is 5–6 times less than similar high baseboards made of MDF, solid wood, or plaster. Absolute water resistance of 100% makespolystyrene floor baseboarduniversal for any rooms, including wet zones. The matte white surface ready for painting opens up limitless possibilities for implementing the most daring design solutions.
High-quality phytopolymer
The base of the L1605 baseboard is phytopolymer — premium-grade high-density polystyrene produced by HI WOOD using a patented South Korean technology with over thirty years of continuous improvement of production processes and quality control. This thermoplastic polymer is created by high-precision extrusion of molten polystyrene at strictly controlled temperature 200–220°C through a special multi-channel die head with micron-level accuracy, followed by molding under pressure 25–30 MPa in vacuum chambers with programmable multi-stage cooling and stabilization of the profile’s geometry.
Material density of 680 kg/m³ is a key quality indicator, ensuring exceptional mechanical strength while maintaining minimal weight even for a high 90 mm profile. To understand the uniqueness of the material: density of ordinary EPS polystyrene used for facade insulation is only 15–25 kg/m³, i.e., phytopolymer is 27–45 times denser. Such outstanding density provides bending strength of 45–50 MPa, tensile strength of 40–45 MPa, modulus of elasticity of 2500–3000 MPa, and impact toughness of 10–12 kJ/m², which is comparable or even exceeds the characteristics of many natural wood species.
The water resistance of phytopolymer reaches absolute 100% — the material does not absorb water even after prolonged immersion for 96 hours and more in laboratory conditions. Water absorption over 24 hours is less than 0.1% by mass, which is practically zero and dozens of times lower than natural wood (15–20%), MDF (8–12%), plaster (5–10%), and even polyurethane (0.5–1%). This means thatPolystyrene floor baseboardL1605 baseboard with height 90 mm can be installed without hesitation in the most extreme conditions of high humidity — bathrooms with steam generators and tropical showers, showers with humidity up to 100%, toilets, kitchens with constant cooking, laundries with industrial dryers, pools with direct contact with water, saunas and steam rooms with temperature up to 80°C.
Material temperature stability covers the widest range from -50°C to +80°C without any change in physical, mechanical, geometric, or aesthetic properties. The baseboard does not soften, does not deform, does not lose strength, does not change color when heated from underfloor heating systems with surface temperature up to 32°C, from radiators with temperature up to 75°C, convectors, infrared heaters, or extreme summer heat up to +50°C in enclosed rooms on the sunny side. When cooled, the material does not become brittle, does not crack, does not break, and retains a certain elasticity even at -40°C, which is relevant for unheated rooms, winter gardens, verandas, terraces, cottages, and country houses with seasonal occupancy.
The ecological safety of HI WOOD products is confirmed by the prestigious international "Korea Eco-Label" certificate — the highest class A+ eco-label awarded only to products that have passed the strictest multi-stage tests in independent accredited international laboratories for absence of harmful emissions, toxic components, and allergenic substances. The material does not contain formaldehyde, phenol, phthalates, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), heavy metals, asbestos, dioxins, or other hazardous substances listed in REACH. It does not emit volatile organic compounds (VOC) even when heated to 80°C for a prolonged period.
Architectural geometry of high profile
Dimensions 90 × 13.7 mm are the result of long-term architectural research, design development, practical testing under real operating conditions, and deep analysis of consumer preferences in various countries of Europe, Asia, and America. Height of 90 mm belongs to the category of high baseboards and is a classic dimension for spacious rooms with high ceilings in European and American premium interior design traditions. This height provides powerful visual impact — the baseboard becomes a noticeable architectural element that structures the space, creates expressive framing of the room, and gives the interior scale, solidity, and respectability.
A 90 mm profile effectively conceals increased technological compensation gaps of 15–20 mm between the floor covering and the wall, which must be left in spacious rooms larger than 30–40 m² according to laying technology to compensate for thermal-hygrometric expansion of wide-format laminate, solid wood, parquet, and other wooden floor materials. Height of 90 mm also reliably masks significant irregularities at the junction of the wall to the floor up to 8–10 mm, which may occur even in high-quality renovation of spacious rooms. The lower part of the wall up to 90 mm height receives maximum protection from mechanical damage caused by moving heavy furniture, foot and shoe impacts, scratches from vacuum cleaners and mops during professional cleaning, and contamination and water splashes during intensive wet floor cleaning.
Thickness of 13.7 mm represents an optimal value, carefully calculated by HI WOOD engineers to ensure the necessary rigidity of the 90 mm high profile without excessive bulkiness of the structure. This thickness creates sufficient mounting surface width of about 12 mm for applying optimal amount of mounting adhesive, which guarantees strong, reliable connection of the high profile to the wall over the entire 90 mm height. At the same time, the baseboard does not appear overly bulky due to thoughtful section proportions and elegant profile shape with smooth transitions.
The profile cross-section of the L1605 baseboard is designed in an elegant classic shape with an expressive decorative relief consisting of several horizontal protruding ridges and recesses, which create rich play of light and shadow, add visual depth, volume, and architectural expressiveness to the high profile. The relief is formed by high-precision extrusion with accuracy up to 0.05 mm, which guarantees identical appearance of all planks in a batch and perfect element alignment. The clarity of the relief is preserved along the entire length of the profile without distortions, depressions, or defects.
The high-profile L1605 baseboard features a significant internal cavity of large volume, forming a spacious functional cable channel approximately 12 mm wide and up to 70 mm high. Numerous wires and cables of various purposes and cross-sections with total cross-section up to 40 mm² can be placed in this spacious cavity.
Applications of the high baseboard
