More than 20 years on the market

The company's success began in 2002, when two artists — Andrey Ragozin and Evgeny Tsapko — created a small creative workshop for producing wooden carved items. The masters' work was quickly noticed, and within a year they were invited to participate in the reconstruction of the Konstantinovskiy Palace in Strelna.

After the success of this project, the company focused on recreating palace interiors, furniture, church furnishings, and carved decorations in various artistic styles. They worked with cultural heritage sites: The Hermitage, the Alexandrovsky Palace, the Troitsko-Izmaylovsky Cathedral, the Sheremetyevsky Mansion, and many others.

The masters' task — and still is — to create wooden items with the highest level of detail and understanding of every element, based on impeccable knowledge of artistic laws and interior styles.

Baseboard BE100 polystyrene HI WOOD — maximum profile for monumental interiors

High-end interior design for high ceilings and spacious rooms requires the use of architectural elements of appropriate scale, which emphasize the grandeur of the space and create a monumental impression.Polystyrene baseboardModels BE100 from the South Korean manufacturer HI WOOD with dimensions 100 × 13.5 × 2000 mm represent the tallest profile with a smooth surface, specifically designed for spacious rooms with ceiling heights of 3 meters and above, elite residences, prestigious public spaces, and premium-class objects. ThisPolystyrene floor baseboardcombines maximum height of 100 mm, creating a colossal visual impact and monumental framing of the space, with optimal thickness of 13.5 mm, ensuring an excellent balance between structural reliability and elegance of modern forms.

Height of 100 mm represents the maximum size in the category of baseboards and belongs to exclusive premium profiles designed for spacious rooms with large areas and high ceilings from 3 to 4 meters and above. Such impressive maximum height creates a monumental architectural framing of grand scale, visually structuring the space around the entire perimeter of the room, maximally emphasizing the grandeur and significance of the room, giving the interior a highest level of prestige and creating an indelible sense of scale, solidity, reliability, prestige, and elite status. The 100 mm profile becomes a dominant architectural element of premium-class interiors, actively shaping the character of the entire space, setting the tone for elite design and creating an impression on visitors.

Thickness of 13.5 mm represents an optimal value that ensures increased rigidity of the maximum profile 100 mm and creates a reliable mounting surface for applyingadhesive for polystyrene baseboards. This thickness is critically important for the maximum profile — it guarantees that the baseboard does not warp during installation even on walls with unevenness up to 3 mm, reliably retains its shape after installation and creates a strong connection. At the same time, the profile retains elegance due to thought-out proportions and smooth, minimalist surface without decorative elements, making it ideal for modern minimalist interiors.

The distinctive feature of the BE100 model is a smooth, minimalist surface without decorative relief or ornamental elements. The minimalist profile makes the baseboard maximally universal and compatible with any interior style, from strict modern minimalism to elegant classicism, from industrial loft to Scandinavian style. The smooth surface emphasizes the purity of lines, creates a sense of order and visual lightness even at maximum height of 100 mm.

The production material — phytopolymer (high-density polystyrene) with density 680 kg/m³ — provides a unique combination of strength and lightness even for the maximum profile. One linear meter of BE100 baseboard weighs only about 180 grams, which is 5-7 times less than similar high baseboards made of MDF or wood. Standard plank length of 2000 mm allows effectively covering the perimeter of spacious rooms.

Absolute water resistance of 100% makespolystyrene floor baseboarduniversal for any rooms. The white matte surface ready for painting opens up unlimited possibilities for color decoration.

Premium-grade phytopolymer from South Korean production

The base of the BE100 baseboard is phytopolymer — high-density polystyrene of the latest generation, produced by the HI WOOD company using a patented South Korean technology with more than thirty years of experience in refining production processes and strict quality control. This thermoplastic polymer is created by high-precision extrusion of molten polystyrene at strictly controlled temperature 200-220°C through a special multi-channel die head, followed by molding under pressure 25-30 MPa in vacuum chambers with programmable cooling and stabilization of the maximum profile geometry.

Material density of 680 kg/m³ — a critical quality indicator of premium class, ensuring exceptional mechanical strength at minimal weight even for the maximum profile 100 mm with thickness 13.5 mm. This density is 27-45 times higher than ordinary EPS polystyrene (15-25 kg/m³) and comparable to the density of hardwoods such as oak (650-750 kg/m³). Such outstanding density provides bending strength of 45-50 MPa, tensile strength of 40-45 MPa, modulus of elasticity of 2500-3000 MPa, and impact toughness of 10-12 kJ/m², comparable to natural wood characteristics.

Water resistance reaches absolute 100% — the material does not absorb water even after full immersion for 96 hours. Water absorption is less than 0.1% by mass, practically equal to zero. This is dozens of times lower than wood (15-20%), MDF (8-12%), gypsum (5-10%) and polyurethane (0.5-1%).Polystyrene floor baseboardBE100 can be installed in bathrooms with steam generators, showers, saunas, swimming pools, laundries and other humid zones. The material does not swell, does not rot, does not develop mold even at 100% humidity.

Temperature stability covers a range from -50°C to +80°C without property changes. The baseboard does not deform when heated by underfloor heating, radiators or summer heat. When cooled, it retains elasticity even at -40°C, which is relevant for unheated rooms, balconies, loggias and country houses with seasonal occupancy. Linear expansion coefficient 0.06-0.08 mm per meter for a 10°C temperature change — the minimum value among all materials, which eliminates the appearance of gaps at joints.

Chemical resistance ensures resistance to most household substances. The material does not react with water, soap solutions, water-based cleaning agents, weak acids and alkalis up to 5-10% concentration, salt solutions, alcohols, oils and fats. It is critically important to remember that polystyrene is absolutely incompatible with organic solvents — acetone, toluene, white spirit, gasoline. These substances destroy the material structure.

Ecological safety is confirmed by prestigious international certification "Korea Eco-Label" — the highest class A+ eco-label, awarded only to products that have passed strict multi-stage tests in independent accredited laboratories for absence of harmful emissions. The material does not contain formaldehyde, phenol, phthalates, heavy metals, asbestos or other toxic substances. Does not emit volatile organic compounds VOC even when heated to 80°C. Phytopolymer is chemically inert, odorless, hypoallergenic and absolutely safe for health of all population categories including children, pregnant women, allergy sufferers and pets.

Architectural geometry of maximum smooth profile

Dimensions 100 × 13.5 mm represent the result of long-term architectural research, design development, and deep analysis of consumer preferences. Height of 100 mm represents the maximum size in the HI WOOD baseboard line and belongs to the category of exclusive premium profiles, designed for spacious rooms with high ceilings from 3 to 4 meters and above.

Height of 100 mm provides a colossal visual impact — the baseboard becomes a dominant architectural element that structures the space, creates a monumental framing, and gives the interior maximum scale, solidity, and prestige. The 100 mm profile most effectively hides increased technological gaps of 20-25 mm between floor covering and wall in spacious rooms larger than 50 m², masks significant unevenness up to 15 mm, and provides maximum protection for the lower part of the wall from mechanical damage over the entire height of 100 mm.

Thickness of 13.5 mm represents an optimal value for the maximum profile 100 mm, ensuring increased structural rigidity without excessive bulkiness. This thickness creates a reliable mounting surface of about 12.5 mm width for applying sufficient amount of mounting adhesive, which guarantees strong connection of the maximum profile to the wall over the entire height of 100 mm. At the same time, the baseboard does not look bulky due to carefully balanced proportions.

The BE100 profile is designed in a minimalist modern form with a smooth, minimalist front surface without decorative relief, ornamental elements or patterns. This fundamental feature makes the profile maximally universal and compatible with any interior style, from strict minimalism to elegant classicism. The smooth surface emphasizes the purity of lines, creates a sense of order and modernity.

The profile shape is designed with ergonomics in mind — all transitions are smooth, rounded edges with radius of 2-3 mm eliminate the risk of injury and significantly facilitate wet cleaning. Dust does not accumulate on the smooth surface. The upper part of the baseboard smoothly connects with the wall, while the lower part tightly adheres to the floor at a 90-degree angle.

The standard length of 2000 mm is optimal for transportation in a passenger car and for carrying by one person due to the minimal weight of 180 grams per linear meter.

Applications of the maximum skirting board

maximum skirting board BE100, 100 mm high with a smooth surface, is used in the most prestigious interior projects of the highest level. In elite suburban residences, mansions, and villas with ceiling heights of 3-4 meters and above, thisPolystyrene baseboardcreates a monumental frame for spacious grand halls of 50-100 m², reception rooms, dining rooms, and main bedrooms, maximally emphasizing the scale, grandeur, and highest status of the space. The smooth minimalist surface perfectly matches modern trends in luxury residential architecture.

In premium penthouses and luxury apartments with panoramic windows spanning the entire wall, the 100 mm high skirting board creates an architectural expression of the highest level, fully matching the status of luxury housing with views of city panoramas or natural landscapes. Painted white, it creates an effect of modern luxury and minimalism.

In representative offices of major corporations, banking halls over 100 m², reception areas of international companies, and top management offices, the high skirting board creates the most solid business atmosphere. The 100 mm height emphatically highlights the scale, seriousness, reliability, and financial strength of the company, creating an impression on clients and partners.

In five-star premium hotels, luxury boutique hotels, and premium spa complexes, the 100 mm high skirting board with a smooth modern surface creates a sense of exclusivity and premium service of the highest level. The material's strength ensures durability under intensive commercial use with daily cleaning.

In museums of contemporary art, art galleries, exhibition centers, and concert halls, the high skirting board with a minimalist smooth surface creates modern finishes for public spaces. The neutral white color does not distract attention from exhibits and artworks, while the increased height corresponds to the scale of architecture of cultural institutions.

In theaters, opera houses, philharmonics, and premium-class cinemas, the 100 mm high skirting board harmonizes with high ceilings of grand foyers and auditoriums. In elite restaurants, clubs, and VIP-level suburban residences, the maximum skirting board emphasizes the highest status of the establishment.

Professional installation technology of the maximum profile

Preparation for installing the maximum skirting board begins with mandatory acclimatization of the material in the room for at least 48-72 hours at a temperature of +18...+22°C and relative humidity of 40-60%. Strips are left in factory packaging in a strictly horizontal position on a flat stable surface, away from heating appliances and direct sunlight.

The wall surface must be perfectly flat with a deviation of no more than 2-3 mm per linear meter, absolutely clean without dust, dirt, or residues of construction materials, dry with moisture content not exceeding 10% by mass, and completely degreased without oily films or grease stains. All protruding irregularities exceeding 2 mm are removed by grinding with abrasive grit 60-80. Large dents deeper than 3 mm and cracks wider than 2 mm are carefully filled with gypsum or polymer putty flush with the wall surface.

For mounting the maximum profile 100 mm high, use specializedadhesives for polystyrene skirting boardswater-based high-strength adhesives without organic solvents: acrylic adhesives of the "liquid nails" type with high initial tack (2-3 minutes), MS-polymer adhesives with elastic seams and increased peel strength, and the proprietary HI WOOD HD1000 adhesive specifically developed for the company's products with optimal characteristics. It is strictly prohibited to use adhesives containing organic solvents: synthetic rubber-based liquid nails in solvents, chloroprene adhesives like "Moment", epoxy resins with solvents. These substances destroy the polystyrene structure upon contact.

Adhesive is applied to the back of the skirting board in a continuous wavy line or dotted line with an 8-10 cm interval across the entire mounting area for maximum strength of the connection between the maximum profile and the wall. For the maximum profile height of 100 mm, it is recommended to apply a generous amount of adhesive in a 4-5 mm thick strip. The skirting board is pressed firmly against the wall vertically and held tightly along the entire 100 mm height with palms for 30 seconds to allow initial adhesive setting.

For the maximum profile height of 100 mm, it is strongly recommended to use temporary fixation with 50 mm wide painter’s tape spaced 25-30 cm apart during the full polymerization of the adhesive to prevent peeling under its own weight. The tape is carefully removed 3-4 hours after initial adhesive setting. Full polymerization of most water-based adhesives occurs within 24 hours at +20°C.

Due to its relatively low weight of 180 grams per linear meter, even the maximum profile 100 mm high securely holds on quality adhesive without additional mechanical fixation using screws or anchors after full drying. This is an important advantage — the absence of through holes significantly improves the aesthetics of the smooth surface and simplifies the installation process.

Cutting and finishing corners of the maximum skirting board

Critically important question —how to cut polystyrene skirting boardmaximum height of 100 mm. A professional saw with a fine-toothed disc of diameter not less than 300-350 mm with 80-100 teeth ensures the cleanest, most precise cut of the maximum profile without chips or burrs. The saw must have a laser pointer for accurate positioning and an angular positioning system with an error margin of less than 0.5 degrees. For the maximum profile height of 100 mm, absolute precision of the 45-degree angle is especially critical for ideal corner joints.

Many are interestedhow to cut polystyrene baseboardin cutting the maximum height 100 mm profile at home without professional power tools. For this, a professional metal hacksaw with fine teeth (tooth pitch 1-1.5 mm) and a deep rigid blade of at least 350 mm in length, combined with a professional high stool of at least 120 mm depth capable of accommodating a 100 mm high profile, is suitable. Cutting is performed with smooth, even movements without jerks or excessive pressure at a speed of 30-40 strokes per minute.

To create internal and external corners, the ends of the strips are beveled at a precise 45-degree angle with micron-level accuracy. The strips are joined using a careful preliminary fit without adhesive to check the quality of the connection. Both maximum profile strips are installed in the corner for alignment verification. If the joint has gaps, the beveling is adjusted until an ideal connection is achieved. Only after achieving an ideal joint without any gaps are the strips finally installed with adhesive.

The corner joint is filled with white water-based acrylic sealant with minimal shrinkage of no more than 2% upon drying. The sealant is applied directly into the joint gap using a caulking gun with a 45-degree angled nozzle. Excess sealant is immediately removed with a rubber spatula or damp cloth. The joint is carefully smoothed with a wet finger or cloth to form an absolutely smooth, seamless transition between the strips.

After the sealant has fully dried within 4-6 hours at room temperature, the joint can be lightly sanded with fine-grit sandpaper (180-220 grit) to remove micro-irregularities and protrusions. Then, the joint is painted with the same paint as the skirting board in the same color. A properly professionally executed corner joint, after painting, should be virtually invisible to the eye.

Painting the maximum skirting board

The most important question —how to paint a polystyrene skirting boardMaximum height of 100 mm for obtaining a high-quality durable coating. The smooth surface of the skirting board has a specially prepared fine-pored structure, optimized for painting with water-based paints without prior priming. Simply thoroughly remove dust using a dry, non-woven cloth.

For painting the maximum skirting board, only professional water-based paints without organic solvents are used. Optimal are acrylic water-dispersible interior paints with matte or semi-matte finish and increased hiding power of class 1-2 — they dry quickly in 2-4 hours at room temperature, have no unpleasant odor, are ecologically absolutely safe, and create a durable coating.

Premium-grade latex paints form a denser, more wear-resistant, elastic film with a slight silk-like gloss and increased resistance to abrasion and wet cleaning. Silicone paints provide maximum water resistance, vapor permeability, and self-cleaning dirt-repellent effect for wet areas.

It is strictly forbidden to use paints based on organic solvents — alkyd enamels, oil-based paints, nitrocellulose lacquers, polyurethane enamels with solvents. Solvents react chemically with polystyrene and destroy its structure.

Application is performed using a professional synthetic-bristle brush with a width of 50-70 mm for large flat surfaces or a microfiber roller with short bristles for faster work and even application. The first base coat is applied thinly and evenly over the entire height of 100 mm without runs, skips, or pooling. After complete drying within 3-4 hours, a second finishing coat is applied to achieve an even, saturated color. For maximum profile, two coats of premium-quality paint are sufficient.

Classic white painting remains the most popular choice for maximum skirting boards in elite modern interiors. A white skirting board 100 mm high visually maximally expands the space, creating a sense of cleanliness, freshness, spaciousness, and modern luxury.
