More than 20 years on the market
The company's success began in 2002, when two artists — Andrey Ragozin and Evgeny Tsapko — created a small creative workshop for producing wooden carved items. The masters' work was quickly noticed, and within a year they were invited to participate in the reconstruction of the Konstantinovskiy Palace in Strelna.
After the success of this project, the company focused on recreating palace interiors, furniture, church furnishings, and carved decorations in various artistic styles. They worked with cultural heritage sites: The Hermitage, the Alexandrovsky Palace, the Troitsko-Izmaylovsky Cathedral, the Sheremetyevsky Mansion, and many others.
The masters' task — and still is — to create wooden items with the highest level of detail and understanding of every element, based on impeccable knowledge of artistic laws and interior styles.

Baseboard B90 polystyrene HI WOOD — high profile for respectable interiors
Creating a representative interior requires the use of proportionate decorative elements that emphasize the scale of the space and create architectural expressiveness.Polystyrene baseboardmodels B90 from the South Korean manufacturer HI WOOD with dimensions 90 × 15 × 2000 mm represent a high, expressive profile, specifically designed for spacious rooms with ceiling heights of 2.8 meters and above. ThisPolystyrene floor baseboardcombines impressive height of 90 mm, creating a powerful visual accent and architectural dominance, with increased thickness of 15 mm, ensuring maximum structural rigidity, secure mounting, and long-term durability.
Height of 90 mm belongs to the premium category of high baseboards and is an ideal choice for spacious rooms of large area, country houses with high ceilings, luxury apartments, representative offices, and public spaces with ceiling heights of 2.8–3.5 meters and above. Such impressive height creates an expressive architectural framing of colossal scale, visually structuring the space, emphasizing the scale of the room, giving the interior a respectable, representative character, and creating a sense of solidity, reliability, and prestige. The 90 mm profile becomes a noticeable independent architectural design element that defines the character of the interior and sets the tone for the entire space’s decoration.
Thickness of 15 mm makes the baseboard B90 one of the most massive and strong in the HI WOOD line. Increased thickness is critically important for the 90 mm high profile — it ensures maximum structural rigidity, eliminates any bending during installation, guarantees resistance to deformation during operation, and creates a spacious, reliable mounting surface for applying sufficient amount ofadhesive for polystyrene baseboardsAt the same time, the profile does not appear overly massive or bulky due to carefully balanced cross-sectional proportions, smooth transitions between planes, and a balanced height-to-thickness ratio of 6:1.
Standard plank length of 2000 mm allows effectively covering the perimeter of spacious rooms with an optimal number of joints, minimizing visible connections and creating a visually cohesive framing of the space. The material — high-density polystyrene (fitopolymer) with density of 680 kg/m³ — provides a unique combination of exceptional strength, minimal weight, and durability even for a high, massive profile. One linear meter of baseboard B90 weighs only about 180 grams, which is 5–6 times less than similar high baseboards made of MDF, wood mass, or gypsum of comparable height, and 8–10 times less than concrete or stone baseboards.
Absolute water resistance of 100% makespolystyrene floor baseboardUniversal for any rooms including wet zones with extreme operating conditions. Matte white surface for painting opens up limitless possibilities for implementing the most daring design solutions and color concepts for interiors — from classic white to saturated dark shades, from neutral pastel tones to bright accent colors, from monochromatic solutions to complex gradients and multi-color compositions.
Premium-grade fitopolymer from Korean production
The baseboard B90 is made of fitopolymer — high-density polystyrene of the latest generation, produced by HI WOOD using a patented South Korean technology with over thirty years of continuous improvement of production processes, implementation of breakthrough technological innovations, and strict multi-stage quality control at every stage of the production cycle. This thermoplastic polymer is created by high-precision extrusion of molten polystyrene at strictly controlled temperature of 200–220°C through a special multi-channel die head with complex configuration, followed by molding under pressure of 25–30 MPa in vacuum chambers with programmable multi-stage cooling.
Material density of 680 kg/m³ — a key indicator of premium quality, ensuring exceptional mechanical strength while maintaining minimal weight even for the high 90 mm profile with 15 mm thickness. This density is 27–45 times higher than ordinary EPS polystyrene (15–25 kg/m³) and comparable to the density of hardwoods such as oak (650–750 kg/m³). Such outstanding density provides bending strength of 45–50 MPa, tensile strength of 40–45 MPa, modulus of elasticity of 2500–3000 MPa, and impact toughness of 10–12 kJ/m².
Water resistance reaches absolute 100% — the material does not absorb water even after full immersion for 96 hours. Water absorption is less than 0.1% by mass within 24 hours, practically equal to zero. This is dozens of times lower than wood (15–20%), MDF (8–12%), gypsum (5–10%), and polyurethane (0.5–1%).Polystyrene floor baseboardBaseboard B90 can be installed in bathrooms with steam generators, showers, saunas, pools, laundries, and other wet zones. The material does not swell, does not rot, does not develop mold even at 100% humidity.
Temperature stability covers a range from -50°C to +80°C without property changes. The baseboard does not deform when heated by underfloor heating, radiators, or summer heat. When cooled, it retains elasticity even at -40°C. Linear expansion coefficient of 0.06–0.08 mm per meter for a 10°C temperature change — the lowest value among all materials, which eliminates the appearance of gaps.
Chemical resistance ensures resistance to water, soap solutions, water-based cleaning agents, weak acids and alkalis, salt solutions, alcohols, and oils. It is critically important to remember that polystyrene is incompatible with organic solvents — acetone, toluene, white spirit, gasoline. These substances destroy the material’s structure.
Ecological safety is confirmed by prestigious international certification "Korea Eco-Label" class A+. The material does not contain formaldehyde, phenol, phthalates, heavy metals, asbestos. Does not emit volatile organic compounds (VOC) even when heated to 80°C. Fitopolymer is chemically inert, odorless, hypoallergenic, and safe for health of all population categories including children, pregnant women, allergy sufferers, and pets.
Architectural geometry of high profile
Dimensions 90 × 15 mm represent the result of long-term architectural research and analysis of consumer preferences in various countries. Height of 90 mm belongs to the premium category of high baseboards and is a classic dimension for spacious rooms with high ceilings in European and American traditions of designing luxury interiors.
Height of 90 mm provides powerful visual impact — the baseboard becomes a noticeable architectural element that structures the space, creates expressive framing, and gives the interior scale, solidity, respectability, and prestige. The 90 mm profile most effectively conceals increased technological gaps of 15–20 mm between floor covering and wall in spacious rooms larger than 40 m², masks significant irregularities of up to 10 mm, and provides maximum protection for the lower part of the wall against mechanical damage at height unreachable for standard baseboards.
Thickness of 15 mm makes the baseboard B90 the most massive in the HI WOOD line. Increased thickness is critically important for the 90 mm high profile — it ensures maximum structural rigidity, eliminates any bending or deformation during installation and operation, creates a spacious mounting surface 14 mm wide for applying sufficient amount of adhesive. At the same time, the profile retains elegance due to thoughtful proportions.
The B90 profile section is designed in a classic shape with smooth or decorative front surface depending on the modification. The shape is designed with ergonomics in mind — rounded edges with radius of 2–3 mm eliminate hazards and facilitate cleaning. The upper part smoothly connects with the wall, while the lower part tightly adheres to the floor.
The construction includes a significant internal cavity — a functional cable channel approximately 12 mm wide and up to 75 mm high. In this spacious cavity, you can accommodate numerous wires and cables of various purposes — telephone, internet, television, audio systems with total cross-section up to 35 mm². This completely eliminates the need to cut grooves in walls for laying communications and significantly simplifies initial installation of communication systems, subsequent equipment modernization, and room reconfiguration.
Standard length of 2000 mm is optimal for transportation and installation. The plank can be carried by one person due to its weight of 180 grams per meter. Whentwo strips with one joint cover a 4-meter section, which corresponds to the typical dimensions of spacious rooms in luxury apartments and premium-class private homes.two planks cover a section of 4 meters.
Applications of the high baseboard
High baseboard B90 with height of 90 mm is used in the most prestigious interior projects. In country houses and cottages with ceiling heights of 2.8–3.5 meters, thisPolystyrene baseboardcreates harmonious framing for spacious halls, living rooms, dining rooms, and grand bedrooms, emphasizing the scale and respectability of the space.
In luxury apartments and penthouses with panoramic windows, the 90 mm high baseboard creates premium-class architectural expressiveness. Painted white, it creates the effect of classic European luxury. In contrasting dark color, it emphasizes the modernity of the interior.
In representative offices, banks, legal offices, the high baseboard creates a professional, solid atmosphere. Height of 90 mm emphasizes the seriousness and reliability of the company. Spacious cable channel allows laying numerous communications.
In restaurants, hotels, spa centers, the 90 mm high baseboard creates a sense of premium service. Material strength ensures durability under intensive commercial use. Absolute water resistance allows use in pools and wet zones.
In museums, galleries, exhibition halls, the high baseboard creates classic museum-style decoration. Neutral white color does not distract attention from exhibits. Increased height corresponds to the scale of exhibition spaces.
Installation begins with acclimatizing the material in the room for at least 48-72 hours at a temperature of +18...+22°C and humidity of 40-60%. Planks remain in packaging horizontally. The wall surface must be flat with deviation no more than 2-3 mm per meter, clean, dry with humidity not exceeding 10%, and degreased.
Professional installation technology
For high-profile 90 mm — a panel saw with a disc diameter of no less than 300 mm ensures a clean cut of the high profile. For high-profile molding, especially important is the accuracy of the 45-degree angle for ideal corner joints.
For mounting the high profile, useadhesives for polystyrene skirting boardsHigh-strength water-based adhesives: acrylic adhesives of the "liquid nails" type with high initial tack, MS-polymer sealants with elastic joints, and the proprietary HI WOOD HD1000 adhesive. Adhesives with solvents are strictly prohibited.
Adhesive is applied to the back of the molding in a continuous wavy line or in dotted lines with an interval of 8-10 cm. For the high profile 90 mm, it is recommended to apply adhesive over the entire mounting surface for maximum joint strength. The molding is pressed against the wall and firmly pressed along the entire 90 mm height for 20-30 seconds.
For the high profile, temporary fixation with painter’s tape at intervals of 30-40 cm is recommended during adhesive polymerization. The tape is carefully removed 2-3 hours after the initial setting of the adhesive. Full polymerization occurs within 24 hours.
Due to its low weight of 180 grams per meter, even the high profile 90 mm securely holds on adhesive without additional mechanical fixation using screws or anchors. This is an important advantage — the absence of through holes improves aesthetics and simplifies installation.
Cutting and corner finishing
Questionhow to cut polystyrene skirting boardFor high-profile 90 mm — a professional metal hacksaw with a deep blade length of no less than 300 mm, combined with a high stool depth of no less than 100 mm, is suitable for home use. Cutting is performed with smooth movements without jerks.
Many askhow to cut polystyrene baseboardTo create internal and external corners, ends are beveled at a precise 45-degree angle. Plank joints are assembled using careful pre-fitting without adhesive. For the high profile 90 mm, precision beveling is especially critical — any gaps will be very noticeable at the large profile height.
Angular joint filling is performed with white acrylic sealant with minimal shrinkage not exceeding 2%. The sealant is applied directly into the joint gap using a caulking gun. Excess is immediately removed with a rubber spatula. The joint is carefully smoothed with a wet finger or sponge, forming a seamless, unnoticeable transition between planks.
The corner joint is filled with white acrylic sealant with a minimum shrinkage of no more than 2%. The sealant is applied directly into the joint gap using a caulking gun. Excess material is immediately removed with a rubber spatula. The joint is carefully smoothed with a wet finger or sponge, forming a seamless, inconspicuous transition between the planks.
Painting the high skirting board
Questionhow to paint a polystyrene skirting boardFor high-profile 90 mm — the only option is water-based paints without organic solvents. The molding surface has a specially prepared fine-pored structure, optimized for painting without prior priming.
For painting the high molding, professional acrylic water-dispersible interior paints with enhanced coverage are used — they dry quickly within 2-4 hours, have no odor, are environmentally safe, and form a durable, long-lasting coating. Premium-grade latex paints form a denser, wear-resistant film with a slight silk-like gloss and enhanced resistance to abrasion. Silicone paints provide maximum water resistance, vapor permeability, and self-cleaning effect.
It is strictly prohibited to use solvent-based paints — alkyd enamels, oil-based paints, nitrocellulose lacquers, solvent-based polyurethane enamels, automotive paints. Solvents react chemically with polystyrene and destroy its structure.
Application is performed with a synthetic-bristle brush width of 50-70 mm for large surfaces or with a microfiber roller to speed up work. The first layer is applied thinly and evenly over the entire 90 mm height without runs or missed spots. After full drying within 3-4 hours, a second layer is applied to achieve uniform, saturated color and complete coverage of the white base. For the high profile, usually two layers of premium-grade paint with high coverage are sufficient.
Color solutions for the high baseboard
Classic white painting remains the most popular choice for high moldings in luxury interiors. A white 90 mm high molding visually expands the space, creates a sense of cleanliness, freshness, and airiness, emphasizes the clear geometry of the room, and harmonizes perfectly with any interior style.
Painting in the same color as the walls using the "tone-on-tone" technique creates visual continuity and unity of space. A 90 mm high molding painted in the same color as the walls visually blends with vertical surfaces and creates an effect of seamless, smooth transition, visually increasing the height of the room.
Contrasting painting creates dramatic, expressive effects in modern interiors. A dark 90 mm high molding on light walls emphasizes the boundary between planes and creates a clear graphic line structuring the space. A black, anthracite, or dark gray molding on white walls looks especially stylish and modern in minimalist interiors, lofts, and industrial spaces.
Advantages of the B90 molding
Height of 90 mm is optimal for spacious rooms with high ceilings of 2.8 meters and above. Increased thickness of 15 mm ensures maximum rigidity and secure mounting of the high profile. The spacious cable channel accommodates numerous communications.
Korean quality HI WOOD guarantees the highest geometric precision with deviations not exceeding 0.5 mm along the entire profile length. Automated production lines with computer control ensure identical appearance of all planks in a batch and perfect element joints. Multi-stage quality control eliminates defects and rejects.
A+ class "Korea Eco-Label" certificate confirms the highest level of ecological safety. The price is 2-3 times lower than comparable high-profile moldings made of MDF, solid wood, or polyurethane, with comparable or superior quality.
