More than 20 years on the market

The company's success began in 2002, when two artists — Andrey Ragozin and Evgeny Tsapko — created a small creative workshop for producing wooden carved items. The masters' work was quickly noticed, and within a year they were invited to participate in the reconstruction of the Konstantinovskiy Palace in Strelna.

After the success of this project, the company focused on recreating palace interiors, furniture, church furnishings, and carved decorations in various artistic styles. They worked with cultural heritage sites: The Hermitage, the Alexandrovsky Palace, the Troitsko-Izmaylovsky Cathedral, the Sheremetyevsky Mansion, and many others.

The masters' task — and still is — to create wooden items with the highest level of detail and understanding of every element, based on impeccable knowledge of artistic laws and interior styles.

Rooms with high ceilings require the use of proportionate decorative elements to create harmonious proportions.

Rooms with high ceilings require the use of proportionate decorative elements to create harmonious proportions.Polystyrene baseboardModels B100C from the South Korean manufacturer HI WOOD with dimensions 100 × 13 × 2000 mm represent a high profile, specifically designed for spacious rooms and rooms with ceilings from 3 meters. ThisPolystyrene floor baseboardcombines increased height of 100 mm, which creates a striking visual accent, with modern manufacturing technologies using high-density phytopolymer.

Height of 100 mm makes this baseboard a noticeable architectural element that effectively completes the space and creates a smooth transition from wall to floor. This height is optimal for rooms with ceiling heights of 3–3.5 meters, where standard baseboards of 60–80 mm would appear disproportionately small. Thickness of 13 mm provides sufficient mounting surface while preserving the profile’s elegance. Standard length of 2000 mm allows effectively covering the room’s perimeter with minimal joints.

Material — high-density polystyrene with density 680 kg/m³ — ensures a unique combination of properties. The product features 100% absolute water resistance, making it universal for any room including bathrooms and kitchens. Low weight simplifies transportation andinstallation of polystyrene baseboards, allowing for self-installation. White surface ready for painting opens up endless possibilities for color decoration.

High-quality phytopolymer

The baseboard B100C is based on phytopolymer — high-density polystyrene produced using advanced South Korean technology. This thermoplastic polymer is created by extrusion followed by molding under controlled pressure. The technological process forms a dense, homogeneous structure without voids or pores, ensuring the highest operational characteristics. Density of 680 kg/m³ guarantees mechanical strength at minimal weight — one linear meter weighs only about 160 grams.

Water resistance of the material reaches 100% — the phytopolymer absolutely does not absorb water even with prolonged contact. Water absorption over 24 hours is less than 0.2% by mass. This makespolystyrene floor baseboardan ideal choice for humid rooms. The material does not swell from moisture, does not deform, does not rot, and is not a nutrient medium for mold and bacteria. Temperature stability covers a range from -50°C to +75°C, ensuring shape retention under any operating conditions.

Ecological safety is confirmed by the prestigious "Korea Eco-Label" — the highest class eco-certification. The material does not contain formaldehyde, phthalates, or heavy metals. Does not emit volatile organic compounds at normal temperatures. Phytopolymer is chemically inert, odorless, hypoallergenic, and absolutely safe for human and pet health. The product is approved for use in children’s, medical, and educational facilities.

Architectural geometry of high profile

Dimensions 100 × 13 mm represent an optimal ratio for rooms with high ceilings. Height of 100 mm creates a striking visual effect that harmoniously looks in spacious rooms. This height is especially relevant for living rooms, halls, dining rooms, and bedrooms in country houses, where ceiling heights reach 3–3.5 meters. A 100 mm high baseboard effectively hides the technological gap between floor covering and wall, masks irregularities at junctions, and protects the lower part of the wall from mechanical damage.

Thickness of 13 mm provides an optimal mounting surface for secure fastening. This thickness allows applying sufficient amountadhesive for polystyrene baseboardsto create a strong connection. At the same time, the profile retains the elegance of lines and does not appear bulky. Thickness of 13 mm also provides the baseboard with necessary rigidity — the profile does not sag during installation and maintains its shape reliably after mounting.

The profile cross-section of baseboard B100C is designed in a classic form with smooth surface and rounded lines. Absence of complex relief simplifies maintenance and makes it universal for any interior style, from classic to minimalism. The upper part of the profile has a slight rounding, creating a soft transition to the wall. The lower part fits tightly to the floor, effectively covering the joint.

The baseboard construction allows for cable routing. The internal cavity of the profile forms a natural cable channel, where you can place telephone, internet, and TV cables. This allows avoiding wall drilling and simplifies cable installation. Standard length of 2000 mm is optimal for transportation and installation, minimizing the number of joints during installation.

Professional installation technology

Preparation for installation begins with careful surface preparation of the wall. The wall must be flat, clean, dry, and degreased. All protruding irregularities are removed by sanding, large defects are filled with putty. Special attention is paid to the lower part of the wall at the height of baseboard installation. Surface is cleaned from dust, dirt, and old coatings. To improve adhesion, it is recommended to prime the wall with a deep-penetration primer.

Marking is performed taking into account the room’s features. In rooms of regular shape, marking may not be necessary. However, in rooms with complex configuration, it is recommended to pre-mark the positions of joints and corners. This will optimize material consumption and ensure symmetrical placement of joints relative to doorways.

For mounting, specializedadhesives for polystyrene skirting boardson water-based. Optimal are acrylic adhesives such as liquid nails, MS-polymer adhesives, or the manufacturer’s HI WOOD HD1000 adhesive. Absolutely prohibited to use adhesives based on organic solvents — they destroy the polystyrene structure. Adhesive is applied to the back of the baseboard in a dotted line with an interval of 10–15 cm.

After applying adhesive, the baseboard is pressed against the wall and firmly pressed along its entire length for 10–15 seconds. Due to its low weight, the adhesive sets quickly and additional fixation is usually not required. Excess adhesive is removed with a damp sponge before it dries. Full polymerization of the adhesive occurs within 24 hours, after which the baseboard can be painted.

Cutting and preparation of elements

Important question —how to cut polystyrene skirting boardwith height of 100 mm. Phytopolymer cuts excellently with various tools. The most accurate result is achieved with a miter saw equipped with a fine-toothed disc of diameter not less than 250 mm. The saw should have a laser pointer and an accurate angle setting system. For home use, a fine-tooth hacksaw combined with a sawhorse will suffice.

Many askhow to cut polystyrene baseboardwithout special tools. For straight cuts, a sharp construction knife with replaceable blades will suffice. Cutting is performed in several passes with gradual deepening. This method requires care but allows achieving a clean cut without power tools.

When cutting, it is important to ensure the baseboard’s immobility. It must be securely fixed in a sawhorse or clamps. Saw movements should be smooth without jerks. After cutting, the end is recommended to be lightly sanded with fine-grit sandpaper to remove microscopic burrs.

Corner finishing and jointing

Finishing internal and external corners is a critically important stageinstallation of polystyrene skirting boardTo create corners, the ends are beveled at a 45-degree angle. When two boards are joined, they form a 90-degree right angle. For a 100 mm high skirting board, precision beveling is especially important — any gaps will be clearly visible.

Board joints in corners are assembled using a dry-fit method without adhesive. Both boards are installed to check the quality of the joint. If gaps are present, the beveling is adjusted. Only after achieving a perfect fit are the boards glued in place.

Corner joints are filled with water-based acrylic sealant with minimal shrinkage. The sealant is applied using a caulking gun, excess is removed with a rubber spatula. The joint is smoothed to form a seamless transition. After drying, the joint is sanded and painted together with the skirting board.

Painting the baseboard

Important question —how to paint a polystyrene skirting boardHeight 100 mm. The surface has a fine-pored structure, optimized for painting. No priming is required — simply wipe off dust with a dry cloth.

Water-based paints are used exclusively. Acrylic water-dispersible paints are optimal — they are environmentally safe, dry quickly, and form a durable coating. Latex paints create a denser film with increased wear resistance. Silicone paints provide maximum water resistance.

Solvent-based paints — alkyd enamels, oil-based paints, nitro lacquers — are strictly prohibited. Solvents damage the polystyrene structure. When selecting paint, always check the composition — the solvent must be water.

Application is performed using a synthetic-bristle brush or a microfiber roller. The first layer is applied thinly and evenly. After drying, a second layer is applied to achieve uniform color. For a 100 mm high skirting board, usually two coats of quality paint are sufficient.

Color Solutions

Classic white painting remains the most popular solution. WhitePolystyrene baseboardvisually expands the space and suits any style. To achieve a perfectly white surface, premium-grade paints with high whiteness are used.

Painting in wall color creates visual continuity of the space. A skirting board painted in the same color as the walls visually blends with them and makes the room appear higher. This technique is especially relevant for rooms with low ceilings.

Contrasting painting creates striking effects. A dark skirting board on light walls emphasizes the boundary between wall and floor. A light skirting board on dark walls creates a sense of airiness.

Painting in floor covering color creates a visual continuation of the floor. Modern acrylic paints allow imitation of any wood species, from light ash to dark wenge.
