Storage and Operation
BUYER'S GUIDE FOR STORAGE AND OPERATION OF STAVROS PRODUCTS MADE OF SOLID WOOD AND MDF
Following our recommendations for storage and operation of purchased products will preserve STAVROS items in proper condition prior to installation and finishing, and ensure their long service life.
Wood is a natural material sensitive to changes in the external environment. Therefore, our primary task is to use only high-quality raw materials and strictly adhere to the standards of the furniture industry GOST 17743-2016.
- STAVROS Company manufactures products from solid wood using modern equipment according to Technical Specifications (hereinafter referred to as TS) ST_TU 18.8-MD_01-002-2018.
- Our suppliers cooperate with the best timber companies in Russia. We use only technologically properly dried wood with 'furniture moisture' of 8 (±2) %.
- All timber materials are stored in a normalized environment. Using an automatic air humidification system, the enterprise maintains temperature and humidity conditions for woodworking facilities, in accordance with SNiP 2.04.08-91: humidity at 40-60% and temperature from +17°C to +25°C. It is precisely under such conditions that wood retains its highest stability.
- During the production of joinery blanks, we use glue from the company KLEBCHEMIE M.G. Becker GmbH & CoKG (Germany) KLEIBERIT 303.2. Bonding quality - D3. Bonding occurs under hydraulic clamps with a specific pressure of 6 kg/cm².
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR STORAGE OF STAVROS WOODEN ITEMS BEFORE FINISHING AND INSTALLATION
STAVROS wooden items are intended for use only indoors. Any use outdoors will lead to premature deterioration. Exception: house carving, which may be used outdoors provided it is protected with special outdoor protective agents.
The period during which wooden items retain their external attractiveness and operational properties depends on the location and conditions of their storage.
- Avoid prolonged exposure of wooden items to direct sunlight: prolonged exposure to intense light may cause color changes on these areas.
- Do not place furniture within 1 meter of heating appliances or any other heat sources.
- Avoid contact of wooden surfaces with objects heated above 50°C (iron, frying pans, etc.). Also, prolonged exposure to hot air (oven with loosely closed door, prolonged heating of a stove, incandescent lamp radiation) is not recommended.
- Avoid water contact with wooden surfaces; they must always remain dry.
- Sudden temperature changes, high heat, and low cold values may cause significant damage to wooden items. Recommended air temperature for storage and operation: from +10°C to +25°C.
