Materials and Product Quality
The high quality of STAVROS products is the result of years of coordinated work by a team of professionals.
Our extensive experience in woodworking, application of advanced design and material processing technologies, a large fleet of modern equipment, a multi-stage quality control system at all production stages, and strict adherence to furniture industry standards enable us to create premium products.
Materials
We use only high-quality raw materials from verified suppliers.
•In the production of decorative items, fittings, and furniture, solid oak and beech wood, kiln-dried to a "furniture moisture" level of 8 (±2) %, is used.
•In the production of molding, cornices, and baseboards, deep-profiled MDF is used. In the production of molding, cornices, and baseboards, deep-profiled MDF is used.
Using an automatic air humidification system, the enterprise maintains the required temperature and humidity levels around the clock: humidity at 40-60% and temperature from +17°C to +25°C.
Woodworking Blank
For producing woodworking blanks, we use Kleiberit 303.0 D3 adhesive (Germany). Gluing is performed under hydraulic clamps with a specific pressure of 6 kg/cm².
The company STAVROS offers its Useful Information two qualities of reapplication:
Under Enamel
The blank is produced by gluing wooden laminates without color and texture matching. Between laminates, contrasting tonal and textural differences are observed.
The blank may contain "live" knots and sapwood, as well as areas with wood defects removed ("dead knots", cracks, chips).
This blank should be selected if the items will have dense tinting and enamel coating.
Under Tinting
The blank is produced by gluing wooden laminates with color and texture matching. Between laminates, minor tonal and textural differences may occur.
The blank may contain "live" knots (no more than 7 mm in diameter per 1 dm²). Sapwood and wood defects are not permitted.
This blank should be selected if the items will have semi-transparent finish. To achieve a uniform color surface on the items, our company strongly recommends using tinting.
Wood is a living material, therefore items in the same order batch, in the "under tinting" category, may exhibit tonal differences between them.
Surface Processing Quality
Stavros Company produces products in two quality categories:
Standard
The surface of the item is processed by milling and machine sanding. Minor defects such as chips and cracks are removed using color- and tone-matched putty.
Permissible: visible traces of milling, minor roughness and fuzz within 15% of the processed surface area.
By purchasing products in "Standard" quality, the buyer receives the most attractive price for items with prepped surfaces.
Premium
In "Premium" quality, the surface of the item is processed by milling, machine sanding, and detailed hand sanding.
The labor-intensive hand sanding procedure allows removing roughness and fuzz in hard-to-reach areas and achieving a smooth, well-sanded surface fully ready for application of lacquer and paint.
Permissible: slight traces of milling and fuzz — not more than 3% of the item's surface area.
