More than 20 years on the market
The company's success began in 2002, when two artists — Andrey Ragozin and Evgeny Tsapko — created a small creative workshop for producing wooden carved items. The masters' work was quickly noticed, and within a year they were invited to participate in the reconstruction of the Konstantinovskiy Palace in Strelna.
After the success of this project, the company focused on recreating palace interiors, furniture, church furnishings, and carved decorations in various artistic styles. They worked with cultural heritage sites: The Hermitage, the Alexandrovsky Palace, the Troitsko-Izmaylovsky Cathedral, the Sheremetyevsky Mansion, and many others.
The masters' task — and still is — to create wooden items with the highest level of detail and understanding of every element, based on impeccable knowledge of artistic laws and interior styles.

WIP50 POLYSTYRENE HI WOOD 50mm x 9mm x 2.0m: Maximum Width for Dramatic Decoration
Polystyrene moldingWIP50 from the South Korean manufacturer Hi Wood is a unique professional decorative solution with an exceptionally wide profile of 50 millimeters at a height of 9 millimeters and a standard plank length of 2.0 meters. The product features a special geometry — it is the widest molding in the Hi Wood line, creating powerful horizontal lines and large decorative accents in interiors. The company Stavros, being an official Hi Wood partner in Russia, guarantees the authenticity of the product and compliance with all international standards for decorative architectural elements.
Technical Characteristics and Unique Geometry
wall molding polystyreneWIP50 has outstanding technical parameters that make it an absolutely unique product on the market of decorative elements. The profile width is impressive 50 millimeters, making WIP50 an unconditional leader in this parameter among all Hi Wood moldings. Such exceptional width ensures maximum visual prominence and creates powerful horizontal lines that dominate the space and set the rhythm of the entire composition.
The profile height of 9 millimeters creates an interesting contrast with the impressive width, forming elongated horizontal proportions that visually expand the space. The WIP50 profile has an elegant classic shape with smooth transitions and moderate relief, not overwhelming perception. The profile geometry is designed so that the maximum width combines with the elegance of lines and does not create a sense of bulkiness.
The standard plank length of 2.0 meters is optimal for transportation, convenient storage, and installation of wide moldings in rooms of standard sizes. This length allows efficient work with the molding in residential, commercial, and public spaces, creating extended horizontal lines with minimal joints. The weight of one plank is about 180 grams due to the optimal size ratio and use of lightweight high-density fitopolymer.
Polystyrene impact-resistant wall moldingWIP50 is produced from a special composite material — premium fitopolymer or duro-polymer. This is a modified polystyrene with a density of 680 kg/m³, which is several times higher than the density of ordinary expanded polystyrene and matches the characteristics of elite European polyurethane moldings. The material is specially developed for producing large-format wide decorative elements with maximum requirements for strength, durability, and dimensional stability at large linear dimensions.
Production is carried out in South Korea on modern high-precision automated equipment of the latest generation using advanced polymer extrusion technologies. The multi-stage strict quality control includes careful checking of geometric dimensions with a tolerance of no more than 0.3 millimeters across the entire 50-millimeter width, mechanical strength tests of the wide profile, and surface inspection for the presence of even the smallest defects. Each batch of products is accompanied by certificates of compliance with international ISO standards and Korea Eco-Label.
The accuracy of the geometry of the wide profile guarantees ideal element fitting during installation even in the most complex compositions. Dimensional deviations along the plank length are minimal, which is especially important when creating extended horizontal lines of large width. The molding surface is perfectly smooth, matte, and absolutely ready for painting without additional sanding, priming, or other surface preparation.
The WIP50 profile has a characteristic shape with moderate relief — the upper part of the profile is slightly rounded, the middle part contains thin decorative grooves, and the lower part ends with a smooth transition to the wall plane. Such balanced geometry creates elegant light-and-shadow plastic without excessive ornamentation, allowing the wide profile to harmoniously fit into various interior design styles.
Unique Properties of High-Density Fitopolymer
Impact-resistant polystyrene wall moldingWIP50 is made from high-tech fitopolymer with a unique set of operational characteristics, critically important for wide profiles.
The high material density of 680 kg/m³ ensures exceptional mechanical strength and rigidity of the wide profile. This is especially important for a 50-millimeter-wide molding, which could deform or sag with lower material density. High-density fitopolymer guarantees that the wide profile maintains perfectly flat geometry for decades of use without any deformation.
Absolute moisture resistance with zero water absorption makes fitopolymer an ideal choice for wide moldings in rooms with any humidity level. The WIP50 molding can safely be used in bathrooms, shower cabins, saunas, pools, kitchens, basements, balconies, and loggias. The material does not swell, does not deform, and does not lose strength under any humidity fluctuations from zero to 100 percent.
No shrinkage after installation — a critically important characteristic for wide decorative elements 2 meters long. Fitopolymer maintains absolutely stable geometric dimensions across the entire 50-millimeter width, joints and seams remain sealed and invisible throughout the entire service life regardless of temperature fluctuations and humidity.
Does not yellow over time — an important advantage for wide white moldings occupying significant surface area. Fitopolymer retains its original snowy white color for decades, does not acquire yellowish or grayish tones under exposure to sunlight, temperature fluctuations, or time.
The material's light-blocking property is especially important for wide moldings with backlighting. Fitopolymer completely blocks light passage through its dense structure even at a width of 50 millimeters, eliminating the need to cover the wide profile with reflective materials on the reverse side.
polystyrene molding on the wallWIP50 does not require priming before painting due to the unique surface properties of fitopolymer. The large surface area of the wide profile perfectly accepts paint without prior preparation, significantly saving time and materials during finishing.
Temperature stability allows the use of the wide molding in a range from minus 50 to plus 80 degrees Celsius. The material does not become brittle at low temperatures and does not soften at high temperatures, making it suitable for any climate conditions and for facade applications.
Biological resistance provides complete protection against mold, fungi, bacteria, and insect pests. The material is not susceptible to rot and retains its properties even under high humidity conditions.
Ecological safety is confirmed by international Korea Eco-Label certificates. Fitopolymer contains no harmful substances and does not emit toxic vapors under any operating conditions.
Ease of mechanical processing makesbuy polystyrene moldingAn optimal choice for DIY installation of wide profiles. The material is easily cut with ordinary tools across the entire 50-millimeter width, providing a clean cut without crumbling.
Wide Range of Applications
how to cut polystyrene moldingWIP50 and where to use it — the exceptional width of 50 millimeters opens unique possibilities.
Horizontal wall zoning — the main application of the wide WIP50 molding. The molding is installed at a height of 90–120 centimeters from the floor, creating a striking wide horizontal line that visually divides the wall into upper and lower sections. The 50-millimeter width makes this line a dominant architectural element, allowing the use of contrasting colors, wallpapers, or decorative plaster in the upper and lower zones.
Creating wide decorative bands — an effective application in classical and neoclassical interiors. WIP50 creates a large horizontal band on walls, visually structuring the space and adding architectural expressiveness to the room. The 50-millimeter width is sufficient to create a full decorative band without the need to combine several narrow profiles.
Framing panels and inserts — a popular application of wide moldings. WIP50 is used to create wide frames around contrasting panels, wallpaper inserts, decorative plaster. The profile width creates visually significant framing, clearly separating the panel from the main wall surface.
Decorative door frame treatment — a monumental application. The wide WIP50 molding creates an expressive horizontal frame above door openings, visually enhancing their significance and creating an architectural accent.
Ceiling skirting for high rooms — a practical application. The 50-millimeter width makes WIP50 suitable as ceiling skirting in rooms with high ceilings over 3.5 meters, where narrow profiles would appear disproportionate.
Facade application – option for exterior finishing. The wide molding WIP50 is used to create horizontal bands on facades, horizontal division of facade planes, and to frame windows and entrance groups.
Professional installation technology
How to cut polystyrene moldingWIP50 requires special attention due to the large profile width.
Metal hacksaw – basic tool for cutting the wide profile. Small teeth ensure a clean cut across the entire 50-millimeter width without chipping.
Miter saw – recommended tool for wide moldings. Provides an ideally straight cut across the entire profile width at any angle.
Surface preparation requires special care for the wide molding. The base must be perfectly flat across the entire 50-millimeter contact width.
Adhesive selection – for wide profiles, the manufacturer recommends HD1000 (high-strength hybrid adhesive) or HD700 for standard installation.
Adhesive application on the wide profile is done more densely – as a continuous wavy line across the entire width or with frequent dots spaced 5–7 centimeters apart.
Attaching the wide molding requires even pressure across the entire 50-millimeter width with mandatory additional fixation using painter’s tape every 20 centimeters.
Joining angles of the wide profile requires maximum precision in cutting at 45 degrees for tight fitting across the entire 50-millimeter width.
Final finishing includes careful sealing of joints across the entire profile width using HD500 adhesive putty or quality acrylic sealant.
WIP50 does not require priming. On the wide profile surface, apply 2–3 thin coats of paint with full drying between layers.
