More than 20 years on the market
The company's success began in 2002, when two artists — Andrey Ragozin and Evgeny Tsapko — created a small creative workshop for producing wooden carved items. The masters' work was quickly noticed, and within a year they were invited to participate in the reconstruction of the Konstantinovskiy Palace in Strelna.
After the success of this project, the company focused on recreating palace interiors, furniture, church furnishings, and carved decorations in various artistic styles. They worked with cultural heritage sites: The Hermitage, the Alexandrovsky Palace, the Troitsko-Izmaylovsky Cathedral, the Sheremetyevsky Mansion, and many others.
The masters' task — and still is — to create wooden items with the highest level of detail and understanding of every element, based on impeccable knowledge of artistic laws and interior styles.

LD32 Polystyrene Molding HI WOOD — an expressive profile for stylish interiors
Decorative elements combining practicality and aesthetic expressiveness are especially valuable in the arsenal of modern interior design.Polystyrene moldingModels LD32 from the South Korean manufacturer HI WOOD with dimensions 32 × 15 × 2000 mm represent a professional solution for creating noticeable decorative accents. This profile differs from basic models by increased dimensions, making it ideal for spaces requiring more expressive architectural detailing.
Dimensions of 32 mm in height and 15 mm in thickness bringMolding HI WOOD LD32into the category of medium profiles, which provide a balance between compactness and decorative significance. The height of 32 mm creates sufficient relief for expressive play of light and shadow, while the profile does not appear bulky and integrates organically into rooms with standard ceiling heights of 2.7–3.0 meters. The increased thickness of 15 mm ensures a reliable mounting surface and gives the profile a solid appearance.
The production material — high-density polystyrene — ensures a unique combination of characteristics. The product is lightweight, simplifying transportation and installation, while the material density reaches 680 kg/m³, providing high mechanical strength. The white surface suitable for painting opens up limitless possibilities for color decoration, allowing to integratedecorative moldinginto any interior stylistic concept.
Phytopolymer as a material of the new generation
The base of the LD32 molding is high-density polystyrene, also known as phytopolymer or duro-polymer — a thermoplastic polymer of the latest generation with unique operational characteristics. This material is produced by extruding molten polystyrene through a die head, followed by shaping and cooling under controlled pressure. The technological process creates a dense, homogeneous structure without voids or pores, which fundamentally distinguishes phytopolymer from ordinary expanded polystyrene.
Material density of 680 kg/m³ ensures high mechanical strength at minimal weight. One linear meterof LD32 polystyrene moldingweighs only about 150 grams, which is 4–5 times less than similar products made of MDF or wood. At the same time, the bending strength is 45–50 MPa, which prevents profile deformation under normal loads. The material does not break upon impact, does not crumble during cutting, and reliably retains its shape for decades.
The moisture resistance of phytopolymer reaches 100% — the material does not absorb water even with prolonged contact. This makes LD32 molding an ideal choice for humid areas — bathrooms, toilets, kitchens, pools, and saunas. The material does not swell from moisture, does not deform with humidity fluctuations, and maintains the profile’s geometry under any conditions. Due to its moisture resistance, polystyrene is not a nutrient medium for fungi, mold, and bacteria, ensuring hygienic use.
The material’s temperature stability covers a range from -40°C to +70°C without changing physical properties. The molding does not deform when heated by radiators, infrared heaters, or built-in lighting. When cooled, the material does not become brittle and retains elasticity. The linear thermal expansion coefficient is minimal — only 0.05–0.07 mm per meter for a 10°C temperature change. This prevents gaps at joints during seasonal temperature fluctuations.
The ecological safety of modern polystyrene is confirmed by international certifications, including the prestigious Korean eco-label "Korea Eco-Label". The material does not emit volatile organic compounds at normal operating temperatures, has no odor, and is completely safe for health. Polystyrene is hypoallergenic and approved for use in children’s, medical, and educational facilities. The material is chemically inert and does not react with paints, adhesives, and other finishing materials.
Profile Architecture and Design Features
Geometric parameters of 32 × 15 mm represent a carefully calibrated ratio of height and thickness. The height of 32 mm creates an expressive relief that is clearly visible in space from a distance of 3–5 meters. This makesLD32 moldinga noticeable architectural element capable of structuring large wall surfaces. At the same time, the profile retains the elegance of its lines and does not appear bulky even in compact rooms.
The thickness of 15 mm provides sufficient mounting surface area for secure attachment to walls or ceilings. Compared to thin profiles, the increased thickness allows compensating for minor surface irregularities and ensures the molding’s stable position. The larger contact area improves adhesive distribution and prevents the profile from detaching over time. This thickness is optimal for mounting on complex surfaces.
The profile cross-section of LD32 molding is executed in a classic form with a multi-level relief. The front surface has characteristic longitudinal grooves and protrusions, creating an expressive play of light and shadow. The relief is formed by precision extrusion with an accuracy of 0.05 mm, ensuring identical appearance of all strips. The clarity of the relief is preserved along the entire length of the profile without distortions or defects. Such quality of execution ensures flawless element alignment during installation.
The standard length of 2000 mm was chosen based on practical considerations. This length is optimal for transportation in a passenger car and for carrying by one person. During installation, two strips with one joint cover a 4-meter section, which corresponds to typical wall dimensions in modern apartments.HI WOOD Polystyrene MoldingIt is easily cut with a regular saw or a construction knife for fitting to specific dimensions.
Professional installation technology
Installation of LD32 molding is simple due to the lightweight nature of the product. One person can easily handle the installation without assistance. Surface preparation includes cleaning from dust, dirt, grease, and peeling coatings. The surface must be dry — the moisture content of the substrate should not exceed 10%. Large irregularities are recommended to be leveled with putty, but the polystyrene profile, due to some elasticity, can compensate for minor defects.
Position marking of the molding is performed using a laser or bubble level. For creating framed compositions, a chalk line and square are used. It is important to ensure strictly horizontal or vertical positioningthe molding to the wall, since even minor deviations will be noticeable. All dimensions are checked twice before starting installation, especially when creating symmetrical compositions.
Specialized mounting adhesives are used to attach polystyrene molding. Optimal options include water-based acrylic adhesives such as liquid nails, MS-polymer sealants, or the brand-specific adhesive HI WOOD HD1000. It is strictly prohibited to use adhesives based on organic solvents — acetone, toluene, white spirit. These substances react with polystyrene and destroy its structure, leading to deformation or dissolution of the profile.
Adhesive is applied to the back of the molding in dots or a dashed line with an interval of 10–15 cm. For a 32 mm high profile, it is recommended to apply a thin continuous layer for maximum bonding area. After applying the adhesive, the molding is placed against the surface according to the marking and pressed firmly for 10–15 seconds. Due to its low weight, the adhesive sets quickly, and additional fixation is usually not required. Excess adhesive protruding at the edges is immediately wiped away with a damp sponge.
For ceiling installation, it is recommended to temporarily fix the molding with painter’s tape until the adhesive fully sets. Tape is applied at intervals of 30–40 cm and removed 2–3 hours after installation. Some professionals use temporary supports made of battens to ensure even pressure along the entire length of the strip. Full polymerization of the adhesive occurs within 24 hours, after which the molding can be painted.
Corner Joint Technology
Corner finishing is a critically important stage of installation, determining the quality of the entire work. To create internal and external corners, the ends of the molding are cut at a 45-degree angle. High-density polystyrene cuts exceptionally well with various tools. The most precise result is achieved with a miter saw equipped with a fine-toothed blade, but for home use, a standard metal hacksaw or a construction knife with replaceable blades will suffice.
To achieve an accurate angle, it is recommended to use a miter gauge — a simple device with guide slots for 45 and 90-degree angles. Professional miter gauges feature a rotatable platform with locking at any angle to within 1 degree. When cutting, it is important to ensure the molding remains stationary and the saw blade moves smoothly. Rushing leads to a ragged edge and inaccurate angle. After cutting, the end can be lightly sanded with fine-grit sandpaper.
Corner joint assembly is performed using a pre-fit method. Both strips are installed without adhesive to check the quality of the joint. If gaps are present, the cut is adjusted. Only after achieving a tight fit are the strips installed with adhesive. During gluing, it is essential to ensure perfect alignment of the ends along the entire height of the profile — any misalignment will create a visible step that remains after painting.
Corner joint filling is performed using acrylic sealant or flexible spackle. Forpolystyrene moldingwater-based acrylic compounds are recommended — they are compatible with the material and provide a strong, flexible bond. The sealant is applied using a caulking gun with a beveled nozzle, excess is removed with a rubber spatula or a damp sponge. The joint is smoothed with a finger or special tool to form a seamless transition. After drying, the joint is sanded with fine-grit sandpaper.
Preparation for Painting and Paint Selection
The LD32 molding surface does not require priming before painting. The material has a uniform fine-porous structure that ensures good adhesion with water-based paints. Simply remove dust formed during installation by wiping the surface with a dry cloth. If the molding has been stored for a long time, it is recommended to wipe it with a slightly damp cloth to remove any possible contaminants.
Water-based paints are exclusively used for painting polystyrene molding. Optimal choices are acrylic water-dispersible paints — they dry quickly, have no odor, are environmentally safe, and form a strong, flexible coating. Latex paints are also suitable, forming a denser film with increased durability. Silicone paints provide excellent vapor permeability and moisture resistance, which is particularly relevant for bathrooms.
It is strictly prohibited to use paints based on organic solvents — alkyd, oil-based, nitrocellulose. Solvents in their composition chemically react with polystyrene, causing softening, deformation, or dissolution of the material. Even a single application of such paint may result in complete loss of the profile’s shape. When selecting paint, it is essential to study the composition — the solvent must be water.
Paint is applied using a microfiber roller for smooth areas and a brush for detailed relief work. The first layer is applied thinly and evenly, without drips or pooling. After the first layer dries (usually 2–4 hours), a second layer is applied to achieve uniform color. Fordecorative molding for paintingtypically, two coats of quality acrylic paint are sufficient to achieve a flawless finish.
Color solutions and decorative techniques
Classic white painting remains the most popular solution. White color is universal and suitable for any interior style, from classic to minimalism. Whitepolystyrene moldingvisually expands space, creates a sense of cleanliness and freshness, and highlights architectural lines. To achieve a perfectly white surface, paints with high whiteness and opacity are used.
Contrasting painting creates dramatic interior effects. Dark molding on light walls emphasizes framed compositions and creates a clear graphic structure. Especially striking is molding painted in deep black, dark gray, or dark blue against white or light beige walls. The reverse solution — light molding on dark walls — creates a sense of lightness and visually lightens massive dark surfaces.
Colorful painting allows creating vivid accents. Molding can be painted in any RAL or NCS color palette, selecting the ideal combination with furniture, textiles, and accessories. Rich tones — emerald, sapphire, terracotta, burgundy — add depth and luxury to interiors. Pastel shades — mint, lavender, peach, powder — create a romantic atmosphere. Bright accent colors — coral, turquoise, ochre — makedecorative moldinga self-contained decorative element.
Decorative techniques open additional possibilities. Patination is performed by applying a base light layer followed by treatment of recesses in the relief with dark patina, which partially wears off on raised areas. The result — an effect of noble antiquity and depth. Gold leafing with acrylic paints containing metallic pigment adds luxury to the interior. Ombre technique with a smooth transition from dark to light creates a modern artistic effect.
Areas of Application in Various Interiors
Wall compositions using molding — a classic decorative technique. Molding LD32 is ideal for creating framed panels of various sizes. Rectangular frames on walls visually structure space, create rhythm, and add architectural expressiveness to the room. A 32 mm height ensures sufficient visibility of frames even in large rooms. The interior of the frames is painted in a contrasting color, covered with wallpaper or decorative fabric.
Framing door and window openingsHI WOOD moldinggives them a finished, elegant appearance. Molding conceals technological gaps between the frame and the wall, creates a visual frame, and protects corners from mechanical damage. A 32 mm profile creates an expressive frame that makes the opening more significant in the interior. Molding painted in the door color or in a contrasting shade becomes an accent element.
Crown molding LD32 creates a strong transition between wall and ceiling. Installed around the perimeter of the room, the molding visually lifts the ceiling and makes the room appear more proportionate. The 32 mm height ensures sufficient visual impact even in rooms with 3-meter-high ceilings. A LED strip can be hidden behind the molding to create a floating ceiling effect. The lightness of polystyrene allows mounting the moldings on any type of ceiling.
Zoning space with horizontal moldings allows visually altering the proportions of the room. A molding installed at a height of 90-100 cm from the floor divides the wall into two zones with different finishes. The lower part is often made darker and more practical, while the upper part is lighter and decorative. This classic technique is suitable for hallways, corridors, dining rooms, and children's rooms. Several parallel moldings create a dynamic rhythmic structure.
Decorating furniture with molding transforms ordinary items into designer pieces. Cabinet doors adorned with polystyrene molding frames appear like classic furniture. The material's lightness allows attaching molding directly to laminate, MDF, or solid wood furniture facades without risk of peeling. Kitchen facades with molding decoration look more expensive. Headboards, built-in wardrobe doors, wall panels — everywherePolystyrene moldingcreates additional decorative appeal.
