Description
Carved frame of a cabriolet chair in the Louis XV style. This elegant chair stylistically corresponds to the middle period of the French king’s reign, which was also called the French Baroque period.
This piece of furniture is a single decorative composition, all its parts transition smoothly into one another; the forms are curved, covered with a laconic carved relief, based on plant motifs — acanthus leaves, flowers, as well as rocaille and geometric profiled rails.
S-shaped cabriole legs with double curve turned outward and connected by carved profiled rails. The armrests are open, in the "en arbalète" style, stylized as a drawn bow, turned outward; they connect the seat to the backrest and additionally provide rigidity to the entire chair structure. The armrests have bordered areas to create cushions.
The chair frame STU-003 has a curved backrest, making it more ergonomic than a straight one. The upper part of the backrest is rounded and also adorned with carved decoration.
